Off at a tangent here but I laughed at Lens comment to Kevin at the end of Frankie's tango. Something about Len worrying Kevin was gonna bust something😂

Anyhoo I hope Rosa is on form to catch pics for Mcguiness Daily. Even if some folk are still complaining. What is published as a pic she gleans from public sites so go get em girl.

Had a small peep at the proms on iplayer after all the huff and puff about it since a new thread it has been credited on DS.. I couldn't watch it till the end there's so much someone can take if you know what I mean not discrediting them from their dancing.. I watched Joanne's tango as a lot of people seemed to have enjoyed it, dancing was good but the story telling was too much for me I didn't really get it if I'm being brutally honest would someone like to tell me about the whole story behind that dance.. The gurning really didn't help either especially Joanne's over exaggerated facial erm expressions haha, But I guess people who were actually there thought differently oh well it's my opinion. Kevin same old same old, Karen same old same old, Janette well she was amazing in that rumba even though I didn't really see much rumba just aljaz lifting her into different positions.. Am I being overly critical by any chance

I haven't seen any of it yet, Ano, but will try to do so tomorrow or possibly Monday evening.

Brace yourself if your not too keen on gurn fest and over exaggerated dancing then you'll need to take 10 deep breaths before you start ok lol Otherwise your fine

The facebook group - not in a million years - far too scary and weird people.

If you don't mind I will stay here amongst the vaguely sane peeps. Please say I can stay ”

Twitter - Confuses me. I see parts of conversations and then have to search for the rest, and then the conversation appears again further up my page. Don't really understand it. Lots of people who were on this thread seem to enjoy it though, and I do try to join in a bit.

Facebook - I know nothing about Facebook groups or what they do! I have Facebook under my real life name, with just a few family and friends, so we just share family photos of events, pet pictures etc, really ordinary stuff but keeps me in touch with loved ones who live far away.

DS - I like it here. The way posts are strictly chronological appeals to my sense of order, and posts can be as long or short as you want them to be. So I'm going to be sticking around as long as there is someone to talk to. I think we have all had some posts which we think have been passed over, but I find that I'm OK with that, because there are RL things which I find myself up against, and this is a lovely distraction.

Lola, I vote that you can stay!!

Edit: With that, I am now off to my bed, so goodnight to anyone who is still around.💤💤

I would say they were more Exhibition Dances as opposed to ballroom and latin 10 dances. As you say there are no lifts in Rhumba but what they tend to dance is contemporary. As they do when dancing with a guest singer on SCD.
But as for the facial expression well........😬

It will be interesting to see if SCD reverts to gurn fest this year or whether Jay has broken through that mould for others to follow in his suitably subtle elegant footsteps.

I love contemporary dance that's only if it were to be done by Aliona who I think would just blow the roof tops off she has the best finishes I have ever seen a professional to have maybe that's my bias talking but I would love her to dance a contemporary routine with Jay they would both complement each other so well... Ahh one can dream.. And I pretty much doubt this years strictly will actually take note of their biggest success story (Jay) not that I'll be watching but I'm sure they'll return to their normal gurn fest ways with happy go lucky pros who would be nodding like sheeps at every word the judges say to them haha

Hope he has a great day
With not too much beer
As for his liver I fear,
And I won't end with a cliché.

Hannah - you will be a bride one day - good things come to those who wait patiently. I'm sure we can think of a Jayjob where you can be the bride

J and kitty - had to be done

Proper question - this is about the "gurning" that pro dancers do. Is one reason for the exaggerated facial expressions because they are normally performing in a ballroom or stage so play up the expressions so they can easily be seen, but this doesn't translate to TV really - bit like theatre actors projecting to the gods in a theatre, where if they do the same on TV it feels like they are shouting and over-acting.

I think it's someone's birthday today - so happy birthday Jay wherever you are in the universe, have a wonderful day.

Saw this yesterday:

The wishbone of a bird was nicknamed the HUG-ME-CLOSE in 18th century English.

May all your dreams and wishes come true.

And finally, I will stop now, just getting loads of posts out in one go My favourite TW video, and yes I know it's been posted before but I like it

Morning Jalionistas, let's hope our boy wonder has the most amazing birthday with his twin and family not too far away, hopefully with Siva, Max, Tom and I guess Nathan as well, that would be amazing.
Jay - may this year be full of fulfilled opportunities, friendship, love, hugs, kisses and happiness - you certainly deserve it.

I think someone (sorry, can't remember who, I think it's speedy) posted this very recently but look at this very blurry dancing from Jay ....

And a really cute interview with Jay and Max where he confesses to kissing a friend of his cousin....

Morning all, I still pop in and lurk, good to see you're keeping up the sterling work here!

As we're getting closer to Sept, and KD, thought I'd re post that I still know of a spare ticket for Sat 17th, Wimbledon evening show if anyone needs one (or knows anyone who does).
I'm still going, really looking forward to it, this is an extra, decent seat!

Another little 'ditty' attempt to mark the boys Special Day

Happy Birthday Tom and Jay

So it was 26 Years ago today
A pair of twins made their way
Into a world🌍 so different from now
Some changes even make us go “WOW”

Their interests varied a lot
Once they ventured from the cot
Parents giving them ‘wings to fly’
No barriers to make them cry

One, artistic, born to sing, act and dance
To MADD he went to take that chance 🎶🚶🏻
The other leaned towards Sports and Business
Now marketing footballs Palace⚽️ with finesse

Their work taking them many places✈️
Fun, busy, demanding, meeting many faces
Arenas holding sport and music fans
For the Goals, The Wanted and Strictly dance

While oceans may divide their homes
These two will never feel alone
No matter where they live today
Their bond still strong, here to stay.👬

Their lives have taken different routes
Neither have forgotten their roots
With loving family in their dear Newark
Regularly they’ll navigate to that hearth

Occasions with family to celebrate 🍾
Or sometimes just to ‘vegetate’😴
In Navigation some pints are raised🍻
Patron and support giving CBC praise

Born together -24th July being their special day
With a love for one another that will never stray
Fraternal blood ties and twin soul mates
No matter what, supporting each others fate💞

So to the special twins Tom and Jay
I want to say a very✨ “ Happy Birthday”✨
Wishing you happiness, luck and love 🍀
Today and always from here to the stars 🌟above

Happy birthday Jay and Tom (and me, and someone's OH, sorry I forget who)

Speedy - your insights into the past of the Wanted are always read and appreciated - we really do need that like button. I often feel tumbleweeded then someone posts something that shows they have read what I posted, however long ago - from comments obviously a lot of us feel the same.

I think those on Twitter try to keep us up to date with anything that happens, but at the moment it's so rare ! Strictly, I agree with you about social media - this and Skype for family are the only ones I do.

Hannah - you have 12 jobs. You are Chief Researcher and Guardian of the Thread, Creative Director of Fantasy Jayjobs and many more. So not always the bridesmaid, and look really cute in the outfit. And talking to yourself - why not? sometimes it's the only way to have a sensible conversation

Lola - not just voted for you to stay, but I demand that you do.

CatO - I love all the cat pics, too

And Whiffle and ahouch and Polly and Korky and BB and TT and DD and bubble and and and (recent posters) and Uncle Tom Cobley, please excuse omissions -

Have I missed anything? Probably

Speedfan is starting to glow now, so au revoir - I am really looking forward to all the videos I haven't been able to see (not worth it on phone or netbook, too slow and jerky)

Hugs to all

Happy birthday Jay and Tom!

Followed Lola's link to the Coldplay medley (like that one - not too much screaming going on!) and this popped up on YT - no words. just a couple of minutes to watch and enjoy:

BIB1 A Very Very Happy Birthday Isih and enjoy those videos today✨🎉🎶🌸🍾🎂✨
BIB2 Totally echo what you are saying here:
1. Appreciating Speedys insights/postings
2.Needing "Like" button...and the Tumbleweed effect

Good morning threadsters!

I may have missed the morning roll call and you're all about your business now but I'll do a shoutout summary.

First and foremost to Mr James McGuiness and his brother Tom
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!🎁🎂🎉🎊🍻💕🎈🍻

Hope you both have the best day together and return to us quick smart. Tom, bring him home with you please.

Next, a general thank you for kind words last night Aaaw shucks folks.

Korky...you always bring a smile to the thread and thank you for the Jaygif.

Huph...I love your posts and I've never ever thought you sound 'stupid' far from it. As for not having much to say...sometimes I have too much to say, so we make a good pair

Cat You may not post as often as you did but I love your contributions...keep clicking on the links.😊

Red, I think you're becoming quite the dab hand on Twitter...stick with it, before you know it you'll be handling a dozen conversations at once As for FB...I'm with you. I only joined recently, purely for practical reasons (good job I checked that, autocorrect clearly thought I meant 'racial reasons' ....what!!!!) and barely use it....I prefer twitter and WhatsApp but the family have FB so needs must. Glad you're a DS Remainer. 😆

Polly I know what you mean about getting conversations confused. I had 3 twitter convos, 2 DM convos and a DS PM running all at the same time recently...I haven't multitasked so furiously in years Having said that, I've just text my daughter to ask her if she wants a lift today...cue very perplexed reply, she didnt think we were going anywhere...the text wasn't for her Love all your posts.

Lola I saw your deleted post and did wonder about the sentiment. Thank you for my clip...wow! that really was a very recent upload...good spot. Here's one in return...it's not that recent but it is a less viewed but great compilation of TW harmonies...featuring Jay very heavily https://youtu.be/h2unSAYGmAc
HUG-ME-CLOSE wow...it's as if they knew.

Ano I love your enthusiasm for all things 'Aliona' and thank you for taking the hit for us gurnfest haters...I might give the Proms thing a miss. Blood pressure, you know

Hannah I also fear that Strictly may be heading down the gurnfest route...it would be such a shame. As I understand it the new production team includes (or even headed by) someone from DWTS. If that is the case, maybe the writing is on the wall. 😕

jnb Keep doing what you're doing chick. Speak to you soon. X

Fred I never thanked you enough for holding the thread together through all your Review links and Homework...thank you so much. Also, it hasn't gone unnoticed by me that when you do post you always try to acknowledge everyone's posts. Love you for that.

Right that covers everyone who responded last night and going to press I think...but I see that Isih and Mrs Rolo (hi Mrs) and BB are with us too...hi all!
Fred, this is harder than it looks

Apologies if I've missed anyone...it's unintentional if I have.

Have a good day everyone x (Huph, I told you I have too much to say)

ETA HAPPY BIRTHDAY ISIH 🎂🎉🎈
