The bit I don't understand is the massive lead at the start of the poll, I can understand the going up by the same number of votes each time you vote, same number of fans voting each time. But when I started voting at 3.08pm 8 mins after poll had opened, tbh I did try at exactly 3.00pm but the page wouldn't load, when I finally got the page to open Poldark was already on 76% and although it very slowly rose when it dropped it has never been recovered. As I said earlier when the votes were showing in the quarter final both had about 15k in their respective matches, which corresponds to same voting pattern as now, roughly same number of votes being cast. If the vote is now holding roughly steady, which means the number of fans voting is approx equal how is there such a massive difference in their percentages.

It is a conumdrum that will no doubt never be explained.

Oh well,] it could be worse, we could be voting to keep Trump from being President ”

Morning all!

Lovely sunny day here, and I hope it stays that way.

I have to confess I didn't pay a lot of attention to the vote yesterday - had a thumping headache, probably due to so much time spent voting on Friday evening, so other than a few posts on here, I pretty much kept away from the iPad.

The highest percentage for J that I remember seeing is just under 42% late Friday, but it started sinking after that and has now been around the 36% mark for much of the time. It was less than 20% when I first managed to get on to the site on Friday afternoon.

I suppose as time goes on and the voting numbers increase it is harder to make any difference to the percentage. If there are 10,000 votes, it would need 100 votes to increase by 1%. If there are 100,000 votes it would need 1000 votes, etc. And that is without the pesky Mr P voters counteracting your vote. (Think I've got the maths right, but if I haven't perhaps some clever person will put me right).

I've had a look at the other semi final and that is interesting too. The online people are a complete mystery to me, but must have a following ( or bots) if they are doing so well against such a popular contestant. How ironic would it be if people not on TV won the TV Champion poll?

Also there was a tweet passing the Poldark baton to a night shift in the US.

Let's hope Jay's contingent of fans from over the pond are voting like crazy to counteract this.”

I stayed up until 5am and together with whoever was on the night shift with me, we got the vote back up to 37.18 before I went to bed. Believe me, they were asleep and by about 1am the vote was rising with no resistance as far as I could tell. Problem is that, with so many votes cast, it takes a lot to make the tiniest difference. They're awake again now and fighting back.
The best we can do is keep voting to try to maintain Jay's position.

From about 1am the figure rose quite steadily and didn't seem to have any counter votes, well not enough to bring the figure down anyway. Best rate of increase was 0.01% every 2 minutes or so.
Funny thing about the online peeps. A couple of days ago I had one of my tweets retweeted by someone apparently from the extended family. Very strange, very random...very...lurky.

Still voting, I'm determined to keep his score respectable against the hairy-chested Poldarkites.

I think the duties are already encompassed in MISTRESS OF THE BEDCHAMBER, we just need to add a ROAMING permission to this. With the recent reduction of roaming charges within the EU, this should not be too onerous, at least for the next couple of years

Any objections?

Number of votes now on display. There appear to be five of us at it.

eta as a rough average (but not hairy)

It is, as someone remarked yesterday, quite hypnotic

Just had a quick look at the other poll - it was going up at around 200 a time when I looked!

Hairy Mr P voters will have to go some to beat that!

Only 2% difference in it, too - the non-TV people may actually have a chance to win the whole thing!😂

Wow Aidan has over 200k votes hmmmm that's why I never take part in polls obviously with the exception of Jay, but it's all unfair and you never know what's happening behind the poll, it could have been coded and programmed for Aidan to win and I'm going to keep believing that! Whose with me.. Also I had no bloody clue on what poldark was but I knew I saw Aidan's face somewhere he looked extremely familiar and then I went on to his page and I saw he was in the hobbit movies which I just saw the other day!! I had an ohhhh moment Really you should have seen my face lol

I love that we can see number of votes. Some found it hard to grasp that even though they were voting and increasing the number of Jay's votes, his % could decrease because the number of votes cast for Aidan within the same click time was greater.

Now we get to feel the Jalionista solidarity as we increase the vote number

It's clear we can't win, but maybe we could set a target number that is achievable by tonight. Then it would be less disheartening to vote, knowing we are keeping Jay's vote respectable and aiming for a set target.

I do find it hard to grasp so I'll just take your word for it!

Late last night it seemed to go up quite nicely, had another go this morning but out for the day now, so back later.

Good idea Only trouble is, it would have to be a realistic target, or we' d feel even worse.....what would that be?

I agree. Aiden has more than half as many votes again as J and at the moment almost twice as many voters. For the record I do like Aiden (apart from the impeding thoracic growth) (chest itself is rather nice) (and arms) (okay, and face, hair, mouth, accent, eyes, hands...) but in this comp I'm 100% J. 😍

I don't mind Aiden as an actor, bit too hairy for me but whatever rocks your boat Weird thing for me though is majority of his voters seem to be voting for the character of Poldark not Aiden the actor - I have this compulsion to shout at them "Poldark isn't real" but heyho, takes all-sorts.

Back to voting, my minute must be up

The vote rose last night because there were few, or no, votes coming in from the opposition to cancel ours out. I made numerous calculations to see what might be a realistic target for this morning. Based on 0.01% increase every 2mins, as it was at one point 38% seemed realistic. Almost got there by 5am when I had to retire.

I hoped we could reach 38% in time for them to wake up and start voting and then just hope we could resist any retaliation. Bit disppointed that it dropped to low 36% when I awoke but by eck we've rallied since then

Would like to get a % or 2 more but I think we need to concentrate on maintaining what he has and just pushing everything to get more.

We can't give up, if we stop or slow, they gain, he loses...what if he ended up with less than 20%

“Facials are an important part of any routine and you really can't expect to win a dance competition without them"

https://youtu.be/uF-33Qt7LPQ

We are delighted to announce the opening of this new Dance School. We will be following a syllabus based on the teachings of Miss Karen.

Our Patron, James, has agreed that he needs to perfect his dance technique and facial expressions, we all have to agree that his little face is not his best feature. With this in mind we will take each of his dances and show him what he should be doing to improve them and make them more suitable for a competition according to Miss Karen’s rules.

The first dance to be made-over will be the Cha Cha or as I like to call it the Char Char Char, Mr Revile-Borewood is another hero of our little dance school. If you need a reminder of how badly James performed, Miss Fred’s links to all the dances can be found on page 100.

We will be looking for dance teachers to come forward and take a dance or facial expression class. The class can be immortalised by the use of pictures and words or just rhyming words but must help James improve his performance.

Points to consider for improvements could be:

Added Omp pah pah and dancing on tables
Appropriate gurning and winking
Lip-synching
Jazz hands

If you are using pictures it would be useful exercise for James to refer to if you added a picture of where he is going wrong and a picture extolling the virtues of someone with superior skills.

Our school has an inclusivity policy so a selection of tea-trays will be available if required.

“You want fame? ... Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying. With sweat.”

https://youtu.be/vtgmnhRQir4

We welcome all new dance teachers and we look forward to your dance plans.”

How about picking a couple of parts of the dance and choosing the best Jayxpression for that part?

eg. The CCC
Best expression for the singer on the stage?

Best expression for 'kneeling in front of Aliona's business parts and sliding up.'?

Don't think that will happen unless his vote accelerates beyond all recognition and J doesn't get any more votes at all. J is on 157k at the moment, so Mr P would need at least 785k for him to get that percentage. The poll has been going for almost 2 days and only has about 12 hours to go.

If we need a target, it has to be a modest one so that it is achievable.
