I tried the Proms - gave up very quickly, for all the reasons aforementioned by others. I'm getting a bit apprehensive (I know it's not serious) about the upcoming series and whether it will all just be very flat after last year - and not just because of Jaliona, there were a lot of very good dancers/characters in it. I suppose wipe the brain clean and go in without preconceptions is the answer.

Glad to see everyone in such good heart - it's been very strange, not being a voting monkey, but it was good fun while it lasted. And the 'opposition' tweet was very nice.

Am off to bed now so will probably miss page 200 deadline for posting - ah well!

No wonder his confidence was affected. I hope the events of the past few months (whatever they have been - we've only seen snippets - haven't dented that confidence that dancing with Aliona gave him.

Horrible weather here today, and off shopping for family birthday presents this morning. At least I don't have to get wet as car park is part of shopping complex so all undercover. Wettest part is getting car out of my own garage!

Glad you all liked the video. He really did seem to have a great time in the early days and I liked that so college era photos were included.

Jnb, I've also wondered if his time out of the limelight might have made I'm a little nervous about being in the public eye again, but I think it will really help that he is with Aliona, a small team of fellow artists and will be performing to a relatively small crowd...and not in front of cameras. It'll be all good I think.

BIB I've wondered that too. He was so adored in his formative years - 18 to 23 really is formative, I think, especially perhaps for a guy - that someone with his sensitivity would have felt it very badly when it all stopped. Sadly I think we're unlikely to see that innocent gaze ever again.......but I so hope he still has enough confidence to move on now to the new challenges awaiting him. Go J x

What a magnificent tour de force, Deise - and so sensitively put together with the pictures, you've done us all proud!

It was interesting watching that video - they must have had one hell of a party amongst all the hard work, and what an experience to have had at such a young age. But I agree it must have been a bit of a bumpy landing for all of them, and particularly for J as well after Strictly and the Tour. But he's clearly got pretty solid foundations and the grit to get through it.

He certainly sounded pretty upbeat and confident when he was talking on Irish radio, and looking forward hugely to what's ahead for him now. So I'm sure he'll be fine - especially now that he'll be back working closely with Aliona - that's his happy place, and she'll be supporting him wholeheartedly with BIG.

Yes, I'd forgotten that - you're right, he did So perhaps I should stop worrying about him ( I'm a born worrier, though ) x
