Thanks!

Maybe my timing/counting is part of my problem with poems?

I've only just caught on that I should have written princesses instead of princess!
I think that princess works just fine as an adjective in "princess hair", even without playing the poetic licence card

Lola expressed one view, Rosa expressed another. Two differing views, which is fine because this is a forum where everyone's view has equal validity.

Excuse me? Just because I didn't agree with your comment I suddenly have a problem with you? Wow, alright.

Your explanation is the main point of my reply. He doesn't follow the tweets of every person he follows, let alone the ones he doesn't follow. If someone wants to tweet him asking for a follow, it's their choice and their problem.

And your comment did give me bitter vibes, that's why I said so. Sorry if it wasn't.

What is wrong with asking for a follow, honestly? Some of his fans are just not interested in politics, probably. On the other hand, I searched for the replies after reading this and can't find any that say "please follow me", but oh well. Let's leave the bitterness away

Sort of OT, but I'm sad that Jay didn't get back to the UK for his birthday. I was hoping on a Tom/Max/Jay reunion. Although Max is now in the US again, so hopefully they can hang around before he goes back to the UK.
I'm a bit lost with the dates... when does KD start? I know rehearsals already started but what would be the last day that Jay could join those rehearsals in your opinion?
let's .
I am glad he enjoyed his birthday with all his friends and family

Good pick on the relevance to Jay, DD - he is like that!

I felt a bit like I should have a go at some poetry after accidentally ending up on the list, so here's what I came up with.

An American nomad with princess hair
meets with a crossroads to who knows where?
Life without purpose is free, unfulfilling.
Life to be judged – a risk if he’s willing.

A destiny withered from years of desert,
seeking the source from which to revert.
Water – like she who pours cross the floor -
the fountain of life for this troubadour?

Together the path for the future is set -
shoot for the stars and have no regret.
Uncertain at first, transformed in a Waltz,
alchemy generates, tradition assaults.

Stick to the script or wander off piste?
Indomitable spirits are being released.
Follow their path, and dance how they feel,
thoughts are united, their bond they anneal.

To exit, they’ve chosen to make their own ends -
both leaving together, and staying as friends.
Yet after it all, it’s confirmed that they won -
a message from others to tell them - Well done!
This is brilliant, Fatskia, and i think that 'princess hair' works just fine. I partucularly like that image of Aliona.

Isih - what a monumental undertaking! Thank you

If anyone is interested in TTIP, then 38 degrees and the greens have been campaigning against it for some years. They were making some headway with MEPs but now we have Brexit its likely the Conservatives will sign, as they have supported it from the beginning. Apologies for bringing politics in here!
I subscribe to, support and sign the petitions of many campaigning groups, including 38 degrees...they do an incredible job. https://speakout.38degrees.org.uk/ca...tip-and-ceta-1 ...petition closed now.

38 degrees have been beating the drum about TTIP for well over a year, a subject that has only recently been picked up by mainstream media, much to their shame.

It's one of those apparently insignificant 'deals' that could actually change everything...including our NHS. It's been kept very low key by those involved.

Had a big day, I'm gong to bed because I feel I should...not tired.

As to when Jay may be home, I'd say they really need at least three weeks of rehearsal, and the first night of KD is 6th September.

So I'd say next Monday or pushing to the absolute limit, the Monday after that.
Good guess. At least he'll be well rested to start the hard work again

Jumbo Jay
*looks round for the elephant in the room*

He is so articulate, I could definitely see him presenting very comfortably on TV once he has a bit of experience.

BionicBard, "princess hair" is a clever reference by fatskia to Jay's donation of his hair to The Little Princess Trust

First rehearsal will leave him so sore, I just know that hahaha. Good thing he's quick at catching up, but after that, there'll be BIG rehearsals, so the guy needs to stay more awake than ever

He'll probably have another long vacation after BIG, though... if he doesn't get some other booking that'll start right away, that is.

So fades the day
Day turns to night
Night brings the words
Words I must write
Write till they're out
Out from the soul
Soul sometimes dark
Dark out of control
Control is forsaken
Forsaken again
Again sift the thoughts
Thoughts never wane
Wane not in dreams
Dreams often stark
Stark in their power
Power can spark
Spark new feelings
Feelings turn to rhyme
Rhyme till the dawn
Dawn ousts nighttime...

No twit twoo duties tonight? I may be around should you fail to fall asleep and pop back. Although if I'm talking to myself I may not. Oh I'm talking gibberish now.

But I am going to look at Lola's post aswell as your info in more depth in conjunction with the current US political arena

i enjoyed the poem as I read it, but that interpretation works too. So that makes it a doubly excellent piece in my view. Bravo, Fatskia!

Speedy, Agrion One reason the TTIP negotiations were taking so long was that the EU was trying to put in protection for the NHS and other European health services from the USA health industry. Whether we'd be strong enough just on our own to do it, I don't know.

Anyway, back on topic - J is very interested in USA politics it seems. Don't think he's made many tweets about UK politics?

Suppose he could have American citizenship, it's possible to do so and keep your British citizenship. Mind you, many people who work in entertainment live and work in the USA without taking citizenship, so maybe not.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's not back here in the UK already - under the radar. Don't think he'll need much rehearsal if he kept up his fitness - more or less
I know we say he wasn't as fit before Strictly, but he couldn't have done that epic Jive - up on his toes, at speed - just a few weeks in if he'd been very unfit?
Though, I do remember his comment on Alan Carr - 'What was I thinking of?'

Don't blame him for having a long break - he's going to be working flat out from the end of August until at least the end of January - and maybe longer if Big goes to the West End.
Then he'll need another break.

Bit ironic as hannah says.
ETA - thank you for your list of the J and A 'dance' words or phrases

Ano which dance to choose if only one??
On the Tour I'll always remember J and A coming towards me doing the amazing kick ball changes in the Jive
Love the first Waltz where I first really appreciated the J and A partnership

But for my favourite - can't decide between last Red Paso (with Green music, thanks to Agrion?) and the Tango.

So Beth, I agree with you

Isih, you do such a brilliant job, thank you for the wonderful lists and as Whiffle says, the pie chart is epic
And you got it on page 200 so it'll be easy to find
Super!!
Fred the Real Dog says thank you for putting him on the chart.

Seconded for Whiffle for job of upskilling the thread.
Think DD has done some too?

Thanks to DD for the brilliant job of collating the poems with the photos thank you. I could easily access your alternative way of posting it.

Fatskia - super poem and so well expressed It work so well.
Love the phrase 'princess hair'.
To second Korky, Bravo!

OT does anyone else like the BBC's Olympic trailer with the synchronised diving alligators? Have been watching Tom Daley on TV, but will have to give up as falling asleep

Completely OT, but am getting so excited about Rio. Just a tart for the Olympics especially the athletics.
Glad you enjoyed it, and nothing singed, except the eyeballs from all that gurning....

Thanks Fred. Yet again you have said everything I was thinking so I have put big fat red ticks because my eye hand co-ordination is fast deteriorating tonight for some reason. (And now I can't spell. Pah.)
Well look at that, I ticked everything. Yay.

Night to anybody going to Bedfordshire. I'm continuing on through the witching hour 😜

Oh how true that is, the exquisite agony of The Night Writer.

We Jayites seek him everywhere.
Is he in the US
Or in the UK,
That darned elusive non-popinJay?
