No! If only.
I cant believe just how out of touch (being kind) the 'celebs' are. Jay would wipe the floor with them.
He's full of intellect that one

Seeing all of the speculation about celebs for the new series of Strictly, I'm sure I will enjoy watching some of them once it's started, but I don't think I'll get such a happy surprise as I did last year with J.

I had virtually no interest in who might be appearing in the run up to last year's series, so never expected to be supporting someone to this extent, and would be very surprised if it happened again. This was a one- off partnership.

But, what could really help is.........

The Musketeers for Strictly. All four of them.

Well, now that particular show has finished for good, why not?

I wouldn't expect them to dress all Musketeer-y, those leathers might be a bit restricting, but no sparkly please - they would need to dress down a bit like J. Please sort this out for me, BBC!

Ooh thanks Jnb - hadn't seen that video before - to quote Bruno "Oh Jay I love how you turn"
I haven't really read all the post I missed and you all probably already watched this video of Jay dancing to Gangnam Style, but I thought I'd share anyway
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIrW5AgLKK8
Thanks Rosa - I saw one of the other Gangham Style videos but not this one - it is very funny - Tom, Siva and our Jsy look like they enjoyed making that video a lot
I ended up going don a 'Rabbit-Hole' of watching other videos after looking at that one
For anyone interested.

Voting has opened for the Radio Times TV Champ final. Don't know if RT have done anything to monitor voting anomalies but it's pretty much 50/50 right now...with Aidan just ahead, surprisingly.

Hi Speedy, yes It will be interesting to see the outcome of this vote. As you said glad Jay is way from it now and certainly was not annihilated, by any means, in the semi

I'm thinking you have this all planned to the nth degree. If this was to ever come true, the Strictly lot would do well to have you on board in a consultancy capacity Red. 😃

Isih, I looked up chaetophobia...it's not so much the hair as the recreation of the smelly, sweaty, dirty farm hand that put me off. Don't get the attraction. However, I do rate Aidan as an actor, Being Human etc...just not my type.
Jay has charisma...which ever way you look at it.

Yes, I've really thought about it quite carefully, and would be more than happy to advise TPTB.

If only they would give you that role......then fairness would prevail...and CRH might just find that 10 paddle

Oooh yes, and Hugo Speers. The leather look might be interesting - Howard Charles stomping round in the paso . But I think Tom Burke would count as a ringer, he dun dancin at skool.

Ooh just as long as the leather outfit is 100%.better than the outfit they put Glen in for the waltz or the Non outfit for the Non paso. Sorry Anita doing flamenco hands does not qualify so that was no paso. And when were lifts allowed in a paso.???

The leather look outfit Trent wore was OK if I remember correctly. Must go and have a look 😂

Now I'm (hopefully) back in circulation, I thought I'd post the Keep Dancing list again. (Though in truth I'm posting it because someone sent me a PM to say that she couldn't find her name on the list, and she's right. I had missed her off the last one I posted though she's on my 'master list', so I don't know what went wrong.)

I haven't heard anything about either of these tickets being sold, so I'll continue to post the details.
Ronny7 is now going to Edinburgh instead of Wimbledon and she did have a Wimbledon ticket for sale.
Wimbledon - Thurs 15th 2.30pm Seat BB 8. - £30
Please PM her if you’re interested.

myla5trolo has a ticket for sale for Wimbledon – Sat 17th evening performance 7.30pm
Please PM her if you’re interested.

Names should be listed alphabetically.
Please check that you are on the list, and that dates, times, and venues are correct
If you'd like to be added to the list, please PM me.

Thank you DD for finding the list. That was the last one I posted (back in June )

I posted the updated one (see my post immediately prior to this) before I'd read pages 201 to 203 so hadn't seen your post.

BB mentioned this clip where J dances before the rest of TW come on stage - jnb's kindly put the link. I get the impression that this was uncommon?

Looking at the information below the clip, it was an early TW performance and in Nottingham - relevant?

Remember reading something in the local paper that one of J's best moments was the first time TW played in Nottingham Arena and how his family could see how popular TW had become. So maybe he danced because his family, or people from his local dance class or people from MADD were there?

Also remember from the local paper J saying he loved being in TW, but they had limited time off and that their lives were very structured. He said one day he just wanted to get up in the morning and have to do nothing that day.

Just an explanation of my 'Fred style' posts - thanks for the nice phrase karin

It's difficult for me to make time to get on here to hold a conversation, so when I've a bit of free time I've a lot of catching up to do.

Have noticed that StrictlyRed, Isih, PollyT and others often go back and multiquote posts from several people to talk about what's been said , but the system doesn't let me do that - so have to 'reference' posters

Agree StrictlyRed about this year's Strictly - some interesting celebrities seem likely, but doubt they'll dance like J and A did - they were such a happy surprise, as you say.

To all the shy poets out there - this thread has had nearly 325,000 views in just over 2 months - far more than a published poetry book would have
So keeeeep posting poets

ETA thanks for the list nelliek

Hope all is well with you hannah?

Morning all, and it's quite a pleasant day here so far.

Just been to do my weekly groceries shop, and they were playing Karma Police by Radiohead. Great song, but it doesn't exactly lift the spirits does it?

Next song up was "I'm in the Mood for Dancing" by the Nolans - what a contrast, and it reminded me of one of katt's lovely video compilations that she posted on here a while back. I think it was one which included all of Aliona's partners.

Has anyone seen the article about two of the new pros Neil and Katya which is in the "Contoversial Costumes" thread downstairs? Not going to comment on all the wrongs here, but in looking at the photos - even in the ones where they are being "themselves" - it immediately struck me that they must have graduated from Miss Karen's facials course with flying colours.

Hi Jnb
At the moment my mom is really quite poorly. I cannot see me being able to leave her to attend MK or Wimbledon.
Himself says to wait, things may get better.
He may have to go on his own if he still wants to. (He loves Aliona's dancing)
Needless to say I am gutted.

ETA Thanks Fred. I am really keeping my fingers crossed for mom getting better and KD would be a pleasant surprise wouldn't it.☺

BIB 1 I think it was absolutely to do with him being in Nottingham. He knew there would be people there that would know about his dancing, so probably gave himself permission to dance just that once. Otherwise, I think he deliberately played down his dancing ability to play along with the rest of the band's extensive collection of left feet....

BIB 2
I agree that's a pretty respectable audience by anybody's measure, and I'm sure all the various bits on here are helping to keep people interested while there's such a dearth of news
