Tried in advance to play something one of the recorded shows on the website this evening - unfortunately geo-blocked 😔 so hoping at some stage that Jays interview on Saturday morning will appear on Youtube.

In the meantime I will rely on all of you who have Channel 5 (on your TV Channel list ) for a detailed report ✍🏻please 🙏🏻 on the interview - and Thanks in advance 😊

Thanks everyone for your lovely messages of congratulations...I can confirm my grandson is the cutest eva... OK, I might be biased

I can't guarantee anything but, if all else fails, I am willing to cobble together a feeble video of Jay's Saturday appearance and post it on YouTube, a la 'The National Lottery'.

That is a threat, not a promise

Thats exactly what Nellie said about the badges, thank you, ahouch.

Just been looking at a ruler, and I reckon lettering no smaller than 2 centimetres, possibly about 2.5. (or as most of us probably understand it - just under an inch. )
Experiment on a bit of scrap paper first. Basically people need to be able to read the name(s) while standing in a small group - say four or five people - without having to put their nose(s) three inches away from your boobs.

Size of the badge depends on how long your names are. If your forum name is Betty and your real name Ann you don't need a badge twelve inches square.

Hi everyone.
Sorry I have been away for so long. I've had a rough few months what with one thing and another but hopefully life is getting better.
I've missed so much on here I hope you'll forgive my absence.
The good news is I'm still able to go to Keep Dancing in Wimbledon (there was a time when I thought I might have to give up my ticket )so am looking forward to maybe meeting some of you then if you are happy for me to join you.
Anyhoo, hope everyone is well and hopefully I'll catch up properly soon 😀

Pure comedy gold

I have images of John Noakes (choose your own classic era Blue Peter presenter) demonstrating the correct way to create your own glittery name badge. Send a SAE for a set of instructions.

Sorry, I've been at the 🍷
(I'm just jealous I won't need a name badge)

ETA Hi Dufnut 👋 Nothing to forgive...welcome back.

Hello Dufnut and welcome back. I hope all is OK now.
Are you going on the 17th. If so I think you will be meeting a good size crowd.

Yes, I'm going on the 17th. Am really looking forward to it and hopefully meeting up. If arrangements have been made to meet and you are happy for me to join you could someone let me know the details please.
Thanks for the welcome back. I'm slowly getting back to normal, hoping to go back to work soon (after 8 months off sick) which is scary and exciting at the same time.

Hi Dufnut and welcome back.

There is nothing arranged yet but Nelliek is kindly knocking us into shape and gathering information about who wants to meet where and when on the 17th. There is a post a couple of pages back asking for answers to questions - you have still got time to reply.

Far too lazy to multi-quote

Speedy - massive congrats on baby Speedy - is he cute enough to put in a...no I won’t go there (sorry Jay)

Hannah - Yes probably enough roses in the pic to hide my chainsaw

Isih - I need the chainsaw to protect me if Hannah turns out to be mad axe murderer and oh couch grass, my sincere commiserations.

Peeps going to shows - Mum speaking here, I know it is exciting and I’m joking about taking a chainsaw, but if you are going on your own please arrange to meet others in public place, let someone know where you are going and staying and make sure you have phone charged and with credit on it.

Badges - none of my business really ‘cos I’m not going to Wimbledon and I will be visible at MK by way of my chainsaw, but I’ve made loads for seminars and conferences. Use simple, clear font - Trebuchet MS, Calibri, Verdana, Tahoma or Arial are good clear fonts to use and size either 48 or 60 depending on which you choose will be more than fine. Use black, bold on plain background - you can put glitter bit round edge if you really need glitter and sparkles

Pitstop - congrats on your son’s results. My youngest had gap year so is off this Sept to do Politics and International Relations, he is planning to be PM in 20 years - you have all been warned

Isih again - never, ever show your lad this thread, our ramblings and fantasy lives will keep him occupied trying to analyse us forever

Oh and forgot to say welcome back to Janet, Dufnut and anyone else who has returned to the madhouse...I mean lovely, warm, caring place to be

After all this build up to KD so looking forward to seeing you before or after show.
Waving to everybody. xx

Thought this meant we could vote more than once, but when I tried to vote a second time I was told that they'd already counted my vote.

Dufnut - janetshep has given you the link re trying to arrange a meeting at Wimbledon KD. Please send me a PM with your thoughts/wishes.

janetshep - thank you for finding my post for Dufnut.

kmelly - your PM received.

Everyone - I'm going to have to transform myself into Whiffle mark 2, and start a spreadsheet regarding everyone's preferences.
Will report back when I've done that, though it won't be for a few days.

I think the age range of contestants is pretty similar to previous years though.

I’m sorry but “Yoof” market – really??

Ed Balls – 49
Will Young – 37
Louise Redknapp – 41
Anastacia – 47
Laura Whitmore – 31
Ore Oruba – 29
Daisy Lowe – 27
Danny Mac – 28
Naga Munchetty – 41
Melvin Odoom – 36

Olly Murs (singer on launch show) – 32

The Youth market is normally considered to be 16-24 age range, so J was 25 when he was contestant and what 20 – 22 when he appeared as singer – was he there to appeal to the “Yoof” market?
jnb_7
19-08-2016
Hey sorry Jalionistas I appear to have yet again caused controversy.....🙄😳
Will someone let me know when I can express my opinions please? Or, are we now only allowed to speak when invited to? MY OPINION of what Yoof is, is the younger market, most of whom don't usually watch Strictly but X Factor. Age doesn't necessarily come into it.

Laura Whitmore, ....fit scantily clad I'm a Celeb risqué presenter
Ore Oruba.......fit, BBC sport and Newrsound presenter
Melvyn Odoom, cool kids DJ and Xtra Factor presenter, comedian, near the knuckle stuff
Daisy Lowe, Supermodel, fashion icon, in NOW and Heat every week...
Danny Mac....Hollyoaks fittie - say no more.

I'll make no more of my opinions known. 🙄
Rest of post deleted because I really can't be bothered to get into the "He said, She said," again.
Lola, once again, please if you have a problem with me could you PM me rather than air it the thread? Thank you.
