I think he is a nice chap in real life - his kids go to the same school as a friend of mine's and one of my (very few) claims to a brush with importance is that he picked her kids up from school so that friend and I could go out for a drink!

Pretty much agree BB with the exception of the BIB.
No disrespect here but I see Strictly in its current format as Ballroom and Latin with partnerships set up as usual.
Think that's why I went off DWTS on a dancing basis.. As Len would say "Too much faffing abaht".”

No worries about disrespect here. I'm merely commenting that it would be one thing that would be different about the show! There has been talk of it in the press, and Robin Windsor and Borewood seem to be in favour of it. My personal view is the status quo - although having said that, I did enjoy Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, which turned traditional ballet on it's head very successfully.

I think it's fair to say, I have pretty much zero interest in the next series of Strictly, apart from Jay and Aliona's involvement, which seems almost guaranteed to be limited to the launch show Champ's dance

It's a shame that it appears there's no possibility of ITT appearances but then Jay will be busy with KD and BIG rehearsals and Aliona seems either persona non grata or she has cut links herself...or perhaps I've read the situation wrongly.

I'll give the show a go, if only to enjoy Claudia's wit and rapport (or otherwise, ahem, PA) with the contestants and because there's little else on...and no doubt reading comments here will pique my interest.

He is clever, funny, up for a challenge. He only started to play the piano a couple of years ago, he makes amazing cakes for his kids, he doesn't take himself seriously - he will be good.”

Be interesting to see him try the Cake Walk then!

I've been a bit sad and found out the ages of all last years contestants as well. I'll write it up when I get home later. Average age last year was 39.8, average age so far this year is 36.6, but as others have pointed out it seems likely that some of the remaining contestants will be over 50 so therefore the average age will increase exponentially.

I can do statistics as well as play with chainsaws

Does anyone know the format of the Saturday show that Jay's appearing on tomorrow?

Is it like Saturday Kitchen where a guest is present for the whole show or more like This Morning where guests appear for a briefish interview in amongst lots of other features?

Hope we get more than a 5 minute dose of Jay...it's about time he got some air time to show off his personality.

I remember on ITT a few years back when Len was asked which of the Pro's he would most like to dance with if he could choose - and he said VINCENT !! That surprised everyone naturally, but the reason given was because Vincent is a superb dancer

As a child, I remember it was quite common to see women dancing together - remember Joyce Grenfell's 'Stately as a Galleon'? And the origins of Argentine Tango were based on men dancing together.

More challenging today given the nature of some latin dances though!

Maybe Naga is dropping hints?

I seem to remember one of Vincent and Flavia's AT pro dances on Strictly a few years ago featured two other male dancers dancing with Vincent first - or maybe it was another M/F couple, with V dancing with the male at first. I can't remember precisely, but I feel pretty sure it happened.

No idea about the format, but I'm recording it as I will be out tomorrow a.m. and watching later, so if it's just 5 minutes of Jay I will be able to FF.

Of doubt I have not a shred
That we'll all be surprised by old Ed.
He'll be licked into shape
And then make our jaws gape
And manage to lead, not be led.

And as to the singer called Will,
I think he is destined to thrill.
He won't oust young Jay
Who's in our hearts to stay
But I hope he'll soon show us some skill.

Regarding the Saturday Morning show, the guide on channel 5 says it is a live topical chat show hosted by Gaby Roslin and a guest host, who welcome strictlys Jay McGuiness Jane McDonald and some one from Big brother.I think the best thing to do like others have said is to record it,as it is on for 2 hours.
It says it's live so not recorded, should be interesting, be nice to see Jay again, perhaps be the start of many.. Hope sol
