That start was dire! I was gutted about Aliona leaving but as they say every cloud has a silver lining and the silver lining to this one is that Aliona wasn't part of that monstrosity!

Hello to BeesKnees
You won't know me as I am a recent newbie. You mentioned about tickets touts for KD. You could still try the box offices as I am sure there will some tickets still available at some of the venues.
Jnb, lovely to see Ruairi/ Capt Scarlett. I have had 3 golden retrievers, and it broke my heart both times when I lost the first two, but getting a new puppy helped with the terrible pain of their loss. Each one has been an individual, no replacement and I have loved all three of them to bits. I am sure you will with Ruairi.
Goes without saying I am really excited about tonight with Jay and Aliona dancing together again. Will watch this series of Strictly because I love the glamour, glitz, fun and of course the dancing, but as everyone has said, I won't be as " invested " for obvious reasons.
This sounds a pathetic but I sat at traffic lights yesterday and as I sat there, Jess Glynne singing Hold My Hand came on the radio and I was transported back 12 months to watching the Launch pro/celeb Jay as a nervous caveman " wooden spoon" dance. I am embarrassed to say tears welled up in my eyes and I realised I just wanted to be able to turn the clock back and start series 13 all over again. The delight in meeting the caveman, the joys, the wibbles, the anger at the judges, the worry, Jaliona's ITTs and being ecstatic when they won. Ridiculous I know.
Changing the subject to a sad note. Unfortunately have suffered a unexpected family bereavement so a difficult week ahead so probably won't be posting will still go to KD at MK in the evening next Saturday as need that to look forward to.”

Is it bad that I still have "From The Wanted - Jay Mcguiness" in my head when they announced the celebs.

Yes, it was done, but I'm sorry I can't remember who did it.

I'm sure someone will know.

Oh that's unusual. Nobody on the judging panel has said "Best lineup yet"

Well, it couldn't be, could it?

Wish I could fast forward this.
Don't usually watch the launch show. Only did by accident last year (fortunately).

So sorry to read the sad news in your last sentence, Dfer.

Take care. {{{{{Hugs}}}}

Why did they change the lighting and the camera angles for those brilliant spins? TPTB trying to take it down a notch or two maybe? The wouldn't want to make it look too good, would they...

I remember when they did the Paso in week 5 and I said "if they get to the final they need to do Paso just to lift the trophy when they both look so hot"
😂

I think they just thought it'd be all arty! It was really bloody good, and good enough for 10s in any week of strictly, but it could never be as good as that first WTF just happened in week 3 moment.

The tempo seemed slower to me, but I didn't see any oopsies. I think, as I said before, they were sabotaged by the different camera angles which nuked those great spins. The lighting was toned down too.

I don't think either of them looked particularly comfortable, like they just realised they're not part of that 'team' any more.

But better things await for both of them now.

And Ward Robe wrought their final revenge....

Yes, still great, but in week 3 it had that shock value which could never be repeated.

Nice to see the judges give it a Standing ovation, too.

I want a few of these new celebs to tone down their personalities a bit. All I can hear is shrieking at the moment. I want that quiet determination of Jay and Aliona back.
