[quote=Isih;83863723]Yes, did sound like same old, same old, didn't it! If the reviewer went with only the image of the Holy Jive to go on, perhaps expectations were a little high!

Exactly my point, made earlier, about the value of quality PR - if the press info is good, chances are they'll use it constructively. If it isn't, your average jobbing hack will re-hash previous reviews - in this case, a quick and easy hop on the Borewood bandwagon! I wonder if the reviewer even went to the show and was just relaying the result of a quick phone call....

Great that J's on LW tomorrow. That'll give things a nice boost for BIG, as well as KD.

Begone those bugs! Dr. J will sort you out I'm sure. You've made it after all those long months of recovery, now sit back and enjoy the show!

The last appearance is on YT so maybe this one will be put on there too.

I don't know who posted the Ali and Jay LW but it can obviously be done. I hope so

ETA It was Loose Women themselves who posted it. Silly me for not checking

Hello, everyone!

Happy day yesterday. Thread's anniversary, Jay on KD and Peru winning a football match

Jayfan, I'm so glad you enjoyed it as much and thank you for the review! Also, regarding to this part...

I think I know them!

Spoiler
This is the first song that came to my mind with the "hello hello" part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98W9QuMq-2k
Also, I googled those lyrics from the jive and this might be the song. It sounds jive-ish to me!

I also agree with the fact that we have to take in consideration that Jay is not as in the same status he was while on Strictly or the Strictly Tour. He took a well deserved time off and it'll be a matter of (not much) time to get back to where he was.
I'm still surprised that they got enough time to rehearse and learn new choreos, though!

So to Jay and Aliona. They did the Paso and Charleston in the first half and then the salsa and jive.Their 4 routines were very similar to the dances they did on SCD but to different music, apart from the salsa which they did to a different arrangement of Cuba. There were no backing dancers and no props/sets. Just the 2 of them on stage. Embarrassingly I didn't know the titles of any of them! I think that the reason they had to change the songs was probably to do with the cost of the licences as much as a anything else. They did the Paso to what I think was a U2 song (Hello, hello?)and the jive to a song with the words 'let your backbone slip'. No idea what the charleston song was. The costumes were very simple. Aliona was in a long blueish dress, then a peachy coloured short one, then a short silvery (I think) one and finally she wore what I thought might have been the nude gold dress from the showdance. It looked very similar. Jay wore a purple/black trousers and shirt and waistcoat for the Paso, black trousers and short sleeved shirt for the charleston, black trousers, pale shirt with black short sleeved shirt over for the salsa and a white shirt with braces and black trousers for the jive. Aliona had her hair in a long pony tale. Jay wore his hair slicked down but not as slicked down as on the AT.

Rosa - spot on with the songs for danceability - the jive particularly! No wonder he enjoys it so much. He's so fit and slick, I'd say that music suits the dance better than the original. Hope somebody manages to capture it somewhere.

Jayfan, might it be this one for the jive - it's the right beat and got those words in the lyrics

That's a blast from the past! I'd forgotten the Resurrection Shuffle.
And thanks ahouch and hannah for the answers about LW. Looks like I can see it

If you want to quote a post that contains a spoiler that you've opened, does it stay open on your response? I've played safe with a separate response so far.

Hope you enjoyed the show and Jay chased the bugs away!

I can empathise with you about post operative recovery-it's not fun is it? Had a few hip operations recently and the Strictly tour was my treat to myself because I was off crutches!! Hope you are recovering well , pain free and getting stronger daily.

Yes the first one was definitely right for the Paso.

Keep Dancing MK - First night review Part 4

Spoiler
At the end, the audience were encouraged to get on their feet and dance which quite a lot did. Quite a lot also stood up to applaud the show at the end.

No, it won't show (so long as you don't delete the spoiler tags). You can't reply to it without seeing the contents yourself, but no one else will.

Whatever it was it wasn't intentional!!

I looked up the spelling and everything because an e-mail to me including the word once got blocked for inappropriate content by an over-zealous filter (mind you, it wouldn't accept the words 'ballcock' or 'screw' either, which is difficult when you work in construction! )

I love Little Sally Walker, it's cool and slick and would have been brilliant Land of a Thousand Dances is very up-tempo and great to jive to as well, so I'm a bit surprised at the choice of the Resurrection Shuffle.

Thanks TT!

I am really not a reliable person to ask about songs so hopefully others will confirm!

Little clue there, that 'most of the audience would have liked to have seen more of J&A'! I can just hear the briefing 'don't make too much of J&A, after all, it isn't their show'....
