Still of the opinion that J is growing his hair (in readiness for a cut for Big) to give it to the Princess Trust again.

Wow! That first picture. J relaxed and confident, A stunning as always Both in a good place with each other. It's just struck me - A isn't 'posing' as she often does. Just relaxed and happy. I love it. And he's bending his knees slightly so she can reach him!

Agree that's probably what he's doing too. Those gorgeous curls will be put to good use.

Hi all, I'm poking my head back in after a long time! Some of you may not remember me - but I met some of you on the tour in London!
I was so happy to see J &A's jive again on the launch show .
I'm going to KD this Friday night at Wimbledon, (with my mum so may not be able to meet then) and on Saturday night on my own, so hope to meet some of you there! Please may I be added to the list -if the list keeper sees!? Thanks.
Great to read any reports esp Maria Henry's very positive tweet.
Can someone tell me if Louis Smith was just watching last eve, or was he in it? I guess just in the audience for press night?
Anyway looking forward to seeing J&A!!

I lost this whole message earlier and had to rewrite!

I was going to make a comment re photos, but now not sure if it won't be perceived as negative, so will keep ir to myself. It was not constructive anyway, just a wink or so I was intending it to be.

Welcome back Dancing Queen
I think Louis was probably just watching last night.

Lovely photos Korky. Waistcoat from SCD promotional photo?

Lovely tweets from Kevin and Karen about last night's KD.

ETA
Lots of lovely photos from last night on Aliona Online.

Lovely photos thanks Korky, and there are lots more over on Twitter. Plenty of positive feedback for J and A, and the whole show in general.

Hello DancingQueen, nice to see your post.

I'm not going to KD, but I think it's nelliek who is keeping a list. It might be worth sending her a PM in case she doesn't see your post here. I think she was also booking for food for those who wanted to eat.

Me too, Amaluna ......

To be honest, I feel as though I've lost the plot a bit. Real Life is very demanding at the moment, and I'm very tired, so I think it's best if I take a short break. I'll be lurking and no doubt avidly reading reviews, and will be back when I feel better

Enjoy the show everyone xxx

P.S. Hello everybody it has been a while since I posted but RL was just too demanding. Looking forward to KD on Saturday.

Hi and thanks for the hello Strictly Red! Will send a PM to Nelliek. I'll see what's being planned for a meet.
I will go on Twitter to see more pics- I follow lots of J&A people but anyone in particular I should check? I'm TheDrawingGirl on there.

Nice to be back
Just hoping to pop outside!

I think there may be a spot of over-analysing going on about his hair. I think the truth is probably a boring - he just likes it longer and hasn't had it cut all summer.

Also, I don't want to burst any bubbles of wishful thinking but he won't be donating it to The Little Princess Trust either as it has to be a min of 17cm to donate and unless he has a scary head like the doll my little sister had that you could pull her hair out and style and then pull it back in, it won't be long enough.

I found this quite amusing - the reviewer's stopped short of calling TW a Beat Combo....but only just!

Obviously would have been happier to have been given a programme, sounds like the budget really is tight!

Talk about damning with faint praise - "the ‘Jay and Aliona’ dances, though brief, were of a competent standard"

Well, better than nothing I guess, and at least does not mention any mistakes. I would have thought that the Jive, at least, could produce a word better than 'competent'. Also seemed to be criticising the audience - "I take it a good number in the audience voted for them".

Still, the review of the show as a whole is for the most part very positive, and that's the important thing - to get bums on seats.

Just checked you out and it looks as though you are already following AlionaOnline, which I was going to suggest. I find that even if you don't follow, people retweet so you see lots of stuff anyway!

Re. Strictly, I mostly follow people I "know" from here, although some names are quite different.

A decent review, and nice that everyone in the company got a mention by name by the looks of it.

Re. The programme thing. It's not just low budget productions that run out - when I went to see CRH in Annie, I only got half a programme and the rest was a single photocopied sheet! Paid full price too - snuck a look at the woman sitting next to me and hers was much better value.

What a cheek! .

Mind you, the real shocker here is that you admit to paying money to see CRH! 🙀😚

More than anything, that would account for the lack of publicity. Shame there aren't more reviews published from last night, as perhaps that's what they were relying on for spreading the word. Still, not all reviews come out immediately. Some might come out following day (or even later with weekly publications)

The reviewer has adopted a rather lofty tone throughout, probably not helped by not having a programme, and clearly no press info either! Never mind, maybe they gave him a glass of fizz at the end.

You never know who reviewers are and what their background is. I remember being asked to do a review for a publication on the grounds that I was a) going to be there and b) a pal of the editor!!

BIB - that's happened to me a few times recently - I went to the last night of a very popular play by a national company in a major theatre: they had no programmes left 'because it's the last night'. Even though it had been sold out weeks in advance so they knew what they'd need. Damned annoying.

I wouldn't have thought it possible, but this one https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CsTwJgBWIAATSlD.jpg manages to make Aliona's thighs look a bit stocky. Maybe it's just the watermark? Or taken with a fish lens?

ETA: that dress is stunning on her, though. I often find that that sort of print looks a bit tacky, but not here. It's amazing.

I think it's a great photo of both of them.....

And Aliona hasn't been dancing for a while, has she? x
