Agree, being rich is fine, but not off other people's backs - it's not money that's the root of evil, but love of it

No, Isih, I got 3 to start with! So my other tastes must be pretty naff...

Pretty posh to have a Potager..... we've got a veg patch.

It's OK to love money, and I expect those who have none would love, love, love to have more - I still remember the feel of my very first wage packet - bank transfers don't cut it for me! There does seem to be a culture of the rich being bad and the poor being exploited by them, which isn't necessarily the case - you could say that the rich provide employment, and if they weren't there, the poor would be exploiting each other trying to get rich. In reality, all most people want is to have enough to live comfortably surrounded by their friends and family, and just get on with wading through the ups and downs of life.

Must rush, got to don my designer wellies to tell the gardener how to prune the roses....

....and I have no idea why when I quote someone, my name comes up instead of theirs!

URL is short for the fancy schmancy term universal resource locator.
A URL is the Internet link (or address) that takes you to the Internet page you want to direct people to when they click on your link.

For example, the URL for the Google search page for the UK is https://www.google.co.uk/
If you click on the link, you will see this URL or address in the top bar (also called the address field) of your Internet browser (Internet Explorer or Chrome or Firefox or Opera or Safari or Puffin).

As another example, if I go to YouTube and search for Jay & Aliona's Cha Cha and then click on the dance, then YouTube goes to the address https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Rk3CIpYNtU. You will be able to see this in your Internet address field if you click on the link.

You can click into the address field for any Internet page and copy the link and then use it in your post here.

Hope this helps, but as a general direction to anyone lurking or posting here, please just ask if something is not clear.
Lots of posters on the thread have a wide range of skills and can help or point you in the right direction.

Hello, everyone!
I come here asking for help

I've run out of things to post on McGuinessDaily. I just have articles from the early Strictly days, so they're really, really old

I know you guys are better than anyone finding new pics or people who post their pics with Jay or something, so I was wondering if there's any new material you've seen these days that you can share with me, please? As you know, the guy goes MIA a lot, so...

Thank you in advance! <3

Hi Rose,

Someone got a pic with him at Leeds railway station the other day. I've got to dash but I'm sure someone can find you the link before I get back later. Hadn't looked at your site for a few days and noticed I missed that heat article completely!

Afternoon everyone.

I am not going to look at the posh quiz. No need whatsoever.

I can sum myself up with:

"You can take the girl out of the tenement, but you can't take the tenement out of the woman".

Amnesty Review 1- pairing up and Cha Cha Cha

I can remember exactly where I was when it was announced that Jay was doing strictly. I was in St Ives waiting for a bus to Cambourne with my mum and uncle. I’d been checking every day and while I recognised a lot of the names, there weren’t any that particularly excited me. I remember thinking “Oh that’s Jay from The Wanted, I used to really like them, I bet he’ll be good”

Then it came to the launch show and before anyone got paired up I remember thinking it was definitely time for Aliona to get a good partner again as she’d had (in my opinion) a very unfair past 3 series. Just before their pairing was announced I hoped that they would be together, and my hopes were granted

Cha Cha Cha
VT- Thought Tess overdid the “nerves” thing right at the beginning. So glad that Aliona was happy and couldn’t wait to see their training. From listening to The Wanted, I always got the impression that Jay was one of the quieter ones, in fact there’s a quote from him in the SCD annual that reflects this: “When you have four guys it feels like a rabble, and they could go and take over the room so I would join in when I wanted to.” I guess this is why I understood his nerves. I’m glad there was a reason behind the trip to the O2, as a lot of the time I get slightly irritated by the “pointless” VTs where I’d rather be watching the training. Totally understood his comment about all the energy being focussed on you as a performer, as I’m used to getting that thrill every time I play or sing, albeit to much smaller audiences Even from that first VT it seemed like J and A had struck up a really good friendship

The Dance- Loved his precision and thought he danced really well. Even though he was nervous he still managed to lead Aliona and didn’t rely on her to get him through. Thought he needed to perform a bit more, but at the same time put it down to it being the first week. Not much else to say apart from I loved Aliona’s choreography, especially all the “split” bits.

Thought the comments and scores were good, apart from the obvious. Was glad I was proved right when I had thought he would be good!
My first amnesty review, was nice to get back into it again after such a long break due to uni work. I will be posting weeks 2-4 at some point before Friday

I've tried searching on twitter for his username, but the pics keep being the same for about a week now :/

This "daily" thing forces me to have at least 1 post everyday hahaha

Great review, Beth. Funny, I can remember exactly where I was when they did the pairing and the CCC. For the pairing I was just heading out of the living room to the kitchen, saw the hairy hulk and carried on, muttering to the OH that it was 'some hairy boybander, won't be any good, no point in watching'. For the CCC, I was heading the same way and had got to the door when I saw that first snap of the hand, changed my mind and sat down to watch it. Little did I know....

I got 5/20, and it says I keep it real and am nowhere near being a snob ! A lot of the answer options didn't apply so I just had to put one in - I said Lidl for Aldi, I would never travel without a book anyway, and I don't have my phone switched on overnight etc.

Can Jay drive ? I would assume so since living in LA he'd need a car ? Unless he got lifts from friends. It's all this train travel he's doing that's got me wondering - but maybe he hasn't got fixed up with a car in the UK yet.

Yes, he does drive Stateside, but being based in London, probably doesn't need a car here, and he can always taxi Korky to the shack.......

Hi Seaside Lady,

Yes i'm sure he can drive. I've seen something on You Tube where he's behind the wheel.

Btw I also got 5/20 but struggled to choose in some instances. Sometimes the answer depends on my mood. Sometimes I want fancy and sometimes I don't. Simple as that.
Plus where was Sainsbury's?

Ding! 💡

No taxi to the shack
Can't follow a track
Hidden in the outback
Of trees no lack
Of jobs a stack
Knapsack to unpack
Firewood to hack
Make a snack
Hit the sack
He has the knack
See dawn's crack
Never look back

What if you want to post directly from something of your own? Is this why we have to go DropBox and imgur and things? I am very wary of the 'cloud'

Or Carrefour, or SuperU.
Hear hear - lots of 'none of the above' questions. Presumably it was devised by those who talk about affordable copies of clothes, £500 instead of £5000

Plus - driving means laying off the beer - have you thought of that!

PS I give up on KtC and the Shack - that Gutter province, Hannah and bubble where are you?

We've got an ancient rickety stable, complete with manger - might be just the thing for Korky & J, if they can climb over all the junk that's in there now.

Been doing a bit of digging, erm, research into The Hoosiers and found that they shared the bill with TW a few times back in the day, so common ground there.

Anyway, here's a couple of interviews from the same gig in 2010 for comparison...I'm liking Irwin Sparkes...

https://youtu.be/UmW7lhNW9Mg TW

https://youtu.be/yb7O1v4uANk The Hoosiers

nb 10 year age difference between Irwin and Jay. Both have GSOH. Looking forward to seeing the chemistry between them on stage.
