I think I recognise that little boy Rafferty, if those are the photos on Twitter. He and mum also met J and A during the tour.

The poster used to be on here during the show and tour, but I don't think they are any longer. Can't think of her user name, though, but somebody else might? Sorry.

Thank you for your review, including the section on Robin and Anya. I have always had a soft spot for Robin. He is a really good dancer. When he was on the show he was great with all his partners - I believe they were Patsy K, Anita D, Lisa R and Deborah M. He got the best out of all of them and came across as very supportive. I hope they bring him back for that quality, especially.

Also thinking about Jay and his meet with all those in Wetherspoons: In the Frank Skinner interview, he reviewed a programme on fans. And although I can't remember his exact words, he talked about fans meeting their celebrities in general, and talked about how important it was to fans. That when they met up, those fans could have a good memory of that meeting which would last for decades. I think that thought is very much to the fore when Jay meets his fans. He is a very considerate young man.

Have a good day folks.

Loads more Jay and Aliona adventures to come I'm sure, we have already willed some of them into being (wanting them to continue dancing together after Strictly for instance) and who knows what's to come. Jay's shown an interest in baking now so maybe he'll be in the Comic Relief Bake Off (if they continue) ... or Masterchef. I for one desperately want to see him covered in flour and/or licking chocolate off of his fingers!!!

Hear, hear, the above and all who have commented on this. I found it very difficult to see where all the angst came from - I read it all in one go and thought (pardon my french) wtf. It appeared to me that a simple request mushroomed into world war 3. I hope there wasn't any nastiness off thread as no-one on here strikes me as being that way inclined!

Thanks to all who have posted reviews, comments, reports etc, especially those I haven't thanked before. With the sneakily taken videos, I almost feel as if I had been there, it's so kind of you to share so much of yourselves with us. I'm interested in the comments about Robin - what a pity he hasn't been given a chance to show his gentler side (dancing wise) in the past. But BB - I think he may have blotted his copybook Strictly-wise with those unauthorised revelations on Youtube. And yes, Mo - I agree about the Frank Skinner interview and your thoughts on it - it was a very good interview

Just popping in quickly as unfortunately RL has intruded over the last couple of days but I've just glanced at the headlines in the DF while having breakfast.
The first two names I can believe but the third one?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...ot-jungle.html

Can anyone remember when 'I'm a celeb' usually starts? I know it's usually sometime in November so I'm talking the actual date here.

ETA: You will get a Wimbledon report from me, just not for a couple more days.

I'm with you on that.

One thing I have learned in life is that I have potentially a lot of control over whether I get upset or how much I get upset.
I tend to view most things - especially opinions, as shades of grey. Often no-one is right or wrong, just have different opinions.
When someone disagrees with me, I hope I give consideration to whether they may have a point and if what they say is something I don't agree with, then I either might just let them have their opinion or give my counter-point of view.
I don't get upset much because I tend not to take things personally - not because it's not in my nature - but if I don't think the other argument convinces me, then I give it less value, and that means it's less likely to upset me.
I just put that out there as it is something I have found useful in life.

On a Forum (like the main forum on here), it's important to attack the argument and not the person. On the appreciation thread, its good that we all appreciate in different ways and to different levels, and even more important to not get personal about things.

When you consider the huge volume of communication in this thread, I think it has been overwhelmingly a good place to visit and I hope it will be seen in that light, always.

Answered my own question by checking wikipedia.
Show seems to start two or three days either side of 15th November. If it's the same this year then we know that Aliona won't be signing for it because she'll be in Edinburgh with Jay.

And I did specifically ask Aliona if she and Jay would be in Edinburgh, which she confirmed.

I'm completely with you on your philosophy here, Fatskia. In fact I apply it to most things in life and not just opinions but people's statements. Some "statements" are in fact subjective opinions given as facts and we can choose how we react to those too. I have seen a poster allege "bullying" when all that has happened is that there has been a difference of opinion. On a discussion forum this is actually a good response which encourages discussion.

Isi - I agree with you too. I read every word and cannot see anything written which would cause such upset. I repeat though that twitter seems a better option for some - but I know it's not for me.

I can see Ola and Lisa being hilarious as they battle it out for ego of the month. Poor Lisa, though - DF still advancing her claim to fame as being that she dated George Clooney something like 10 years ago!

Twitter's good for saying what you're having for lunch or where you've been, but not for discussing anything or exchanging opinions. You can't do that in one or two lines.

Can't wait for Pointless on Saturday.
It is the only thing keeping me from a post Wimbledon slump.

Was shattered as well yesterday. Think Saturday's lack of sleep caught up with me.

Looking forward to reading your report from Saturday when you have time Nelliek.

So Mary Berry is not going to C4. Only Paul H going.

Is it going to end up like Top Gear? Continuing the show with different presenters just didn't work, as they lost the recipe (see what I did there ) that had made it so popular in the first place. A show is more than just its format. It has a 'character'. Still, I never watched it so I don't really care!

It was a very open Q&A session with a dance group somewhere, just after Ola injured her leg on the Jump, and was related to that. The video was taken down fairly quickly

Thought I'd pop in quickly: while the pot's still warm, to say I very much agree with you, Fatskia. As I mentioned in a long-ago post, we all view the world through different "lenses", and our world view depends entirely on which particular "lenses" we happen to be wearing at the time. In life, I'm sure most of us are aware of this, and are happy to hear, and consider, views and opinions which are different to our own (often that won't stop a, sometimes, heated debate, tho'). But occasionally you might encounter someone who is wearing "sunglasses". In this case there is absolutely no point in arguing that it's bright and sunny: to them it's dull and overcast. After all, they can see it with their own eyes. And anyway, you're wearing "bright and sunny lenses" yourself. I find it amusing to discover that I might have been wearing "sunglasses" about something myself. Such a relief to take them off.

Must dash. Back later. I've got a list.

I felt the same Isih when it was happening. Some reactions seemed a little unusual to me (no disrespect intended). It may be that RL pressures/issues affected how people reacted - we don't know but I really hope this thread continues to be such a lovely place to visit & share our appreciation of all things Jaliona.
