Watching Make Me An Egghead and one of the questions was "which female professional dancer has won SCD twice?" Aliona, Natalie or Ola the contestant got the answer right and Jeremy Vine mentioned what an amazing dancer Jay turned out to be. I think we all agree on that

My thoughts exactly on all counts! And especially about Ore. I think he will be the best dancer but that his personality will grate so I will quickly go off him. But who knows - I could be wrong on both counts. I think possibly a funnier competition than last year. Certainly fewer complete duffers (I really hope Ed goes first round).

I'm not 'excited' about anyone, but to me, that's a good thing. I couldn't bear another year like this one. (The closest I ever got before was Austinwuzrobbed) I can see several dancers I'd be happy to get behind and I can just sit back and enjoy the dancing. Some drama is bound to emerge.

And you know the best thing about that last paragraph? The auto-text predicter on my iPad suggested " Austinwuzrobbed" as I was half way through typing it!

Not really. Pre disposed to Laura as I've followed her for a while on Instagram and she's a friend of Caroline's. Also liking Claudia, Anastacia, Greg and Will. I know that it'll not be like the lightning bolt that hit me last year. That only happens once. I will love someone I'm sure ... just like I loved Caroline, Kimberley, Kara and Ali ... but it won't be anything like my all encompassing love for Jaliona .. which is a relief really as another year like last year would kill me

He came across really well, unlike the slightly ridiculous figure he was required to cut on his last ITT run.

I've learnt my lesson though about good YT clips- now, if I really like them, I save them asap via Keepvid.

ETA- he also said which two celebs were swapped round for their pro's- damn, I can't remember who. Something to do with Nat being injured, Aliona stepping in etc etc It was all highly interesting stuff.”

Not watched it yet, but still, I think I might just know the answer when we get to it

Back to favourites - I like Will Young but he does look a bit clunky and chunky in the first steps, sadly. Perhaps he'll be another caveman surprise

I'm liking AJ's dancing. Might be a good pro, even if he is 12, provided he doesn't panic and try to over-compensate.
And I think Kevin might be throwing too much at Louise. Looks to me like she doesn't know how to spot (you could see that J did from the very first training day - if you know how, you're incapable of doing a turn without spotting), so he might be making her very dizzy - not good in a jive! Still, I could be wrong again. These first glimpses are so tantalising!

They didn't show much did they? I think he'll be pretty good once he gets going. Surprised at the total lack of chemistry between Naga and Pasha, and Anton and Anastacia - what a shame. Loads between Joe Varney and Laura - she's going to be hard to beat, also AJ. and Claudia.

Think you mean Brenda and Anastacia? I'm much preferring Joe and Laura to Joe and Georgia. She looks to be bringing out more of his personality.

The not-wibbling is going to be a big relief.

I won't be hanging anxiously around the spoiler thread, but will probably take a look out of curiosity.

I may share my 3 free votes according to how I feel each week, and the best bit will be not spending any money on phone votes!

I think my picks are quite similar to yours - as are the potential irritations. I think Robert might be good for a laugh, too, as long as he doesn't go too OTT.

I wasn't on Twitter during the last series, but am now, so will follow a few there. Meanwhile, I am skipping happily around the MF and various app threads, but always coming "home" to this one

It's been such a lovely place, and I hope it continues for a long time.😍💕
