He is your cushion - but we can add picker upper to his ever growing list of jobs!

Jumps up and down, hand in air, please Miss I think I remember this one.

Didn't you have vertigo, or something like that, and were going to use J as a cushion if you fell over

Oh, and I've seen Isih has told you as well - oh and I got all excited I actually remembered a job description.

Oh and you do all realise that spiders are evil, they wear hob nail boots and carry Kalashnikovs around with them - evil I tell you, pure evil. Better not tell you how I get rid of them Oh and J is a bit scared of them, so I don't think that spider would get anywhere near him, he would be out of the door before it got its fangs into him.

Thank you for the correction. I knew you had a song predicted/willed into existence. :

ETA Rosa hugs from as as well. As mentioned before a lot of us have been there.

Aah - you wouldn't be very happy with us then - we were talking to our neighbour and watched while a spider started her web between her shoulder and the support post for the verandah roof.

Thank you, peeps, for the links to the little vids and the radio interview - they provided welcome relief in the course of an absolute mare of a day at work ...

We have one of those catchers. It's getting very old and we would like to buy a new one to keep in reserve - any suggestions?

Bridget Joneses dropped from a height stop pretty much anything in their tracks - just scoop up and shake outside. Job done!

ETA Y-fronts would probably work as well, sans contents of course

An upturned glass and a piece of paper do the trick nicely but, of course, back-up equipment would always be valuable.

1. Drain glass of wine and find appropriately sized piece of paper.

2. Liberate J from his undercrackers for use as backup

3. Forget spider ..........

Someone definitely guessed Cuba though but it wasn't me.

And the Charleston hilarity came about when we knew the song was Dr Jellys Jam and we started a pisstake that the producers would make them do Dr Who for the tenuous Dr link. Then someone spotted a tardis in the background of rehearsal footage and it went crazy from there!

Good times!

That was one of the best weeks cos all the wibbling stopped and we all just took the P for a whole week!

If you enjoyed that, there are loads of good clips on you-tube from SYTYCD - I can lose myself on down the SYTYCD you tube rabbit hole for ages! The US version was so much better than the UK version and some of the contemporary dance on there is brilliant.

There are a number of videos which include Artem, Pasha, Janette (who is much better in SYTYCD!) and Anya - although they tend not to be the best choreography (or at least the sort that I like ).

There's also a video of Aliona's audition , a longer but worse quality version of it which includes an interview with her and the first group audition that she was in as well.

The Strictly Bingo categories from The Grauniad are:

- Celebs wanging on about how much hard work dancing is
- Mentions of it being Len’s last series
- Craig and Rinder trying to out-panto villain one another
- Early signs of partnerships under pressure
- Song/routine choices that endeavour to reflect why the celeb is famous (usually in a painful and laboured fashion)

I have Aldi knock-off Pimms and a packet of smarties, is anyone gonna play?

I have heard that Y-fronts have built-in egress through which the spider could walk... and then attack J in his most important part - i.e. Josh!

A woman after my own heart (although it needs to be a very big wine glass or preferably a pint beer glass) .

In the days before I overcame my aversion to spiders (necessary because Mr S is scared s**tless of them and runs out of the room sobbing), I did resort to using a cylinder hoover with a long extension tube on, but then you have the problem of how to empty the bag without said spider crawling up your arm

ETA - And now he is making Louise do that kung-fu kick thing with him - he isn't going to be any quieter this year is he .

Yep you're right. How quickly we forget things that are most unpleasant. And it was very unpleasant.
And all I had was himself helping me instead of my personal cushion.
(But himself did help. He was very patient....)
