This is a lovely reminder Korky - I think this is the best video taken of the tour.

For comparison!”

But there is no comparison with this year's crop! Or with Jay by the end of the tour. Doesn't it just remind you how much his whole body shape and confidence level changed along with his dancing ability.

If anyone can find it, Katie Arabella has a video of Jay in the salsa at Wimbledon on her Snapchat.

Just beautiful. Try as I might I couldn't take my eyes off his feet, and I watched it several times. The picture quality was really good, too. Thank you Korky. Another gem.

I'm afraid I missed SCD earlier. Fortunately, it's on series record, so I'll catch it later.

Fred. I should have been clearer, in my reply to your earlier post. Did you suggest that I put a link on the Robin App thread to my "meeting Jay" post, or to my Thursday's review post? Sorry, I dozed off shortly after my reply to you, so I don't think I was firing on all cylinders, at the time. Would you, or perhaps, someone else, be kind enough to link it for me? I haven't mastered post-linking. I told Robin on Saturday that I thought the show was brilliant, that I'd done a review on Thursday, and would be doing a Saturday one, too. I went on to tell him that lots of people were doing them, and that if he wanted an ego-boost: then go onto the the J&A App thread, and read them. It would be nice if his fans could see them, too.

Sorry, Korky, bit late answering your question.
To which the answer is 'no'.

But, both the mug and the 'invitation' are clearly visible in a photo posted on McGuinessDaily. Currently on page 3
http://www.mcguinessdaily.com/page/3
Photo taken in their dressing room.
The white card directly under Aliona is the invitation, with the mug just underneath that.
Behind the stuffed toy to the right of the mug you can just see Jay in blue and Aliona written in red, and that's the envelope I sent the invitation in.
I think the card is propped up in front of the box I packed the mug in, while the wrapping paper is the tall silver stuff underneath the 'Keep dancing' poster on the left. I have to say that someone opened that paper very carefully.
Incidentally, the box I used (at least twice as big as the mug but it was the only box I had to hand) was the one in which my blue jaybird whirligig had arrived from Canada a couple of weeks earlier.

If anyone can do a direct link to that photo I would be very grateful.

I know that it's bad form to do a double post, and it must be equally bad form using the same quote twice but when I commented on the Popeye bit before my brain wasn't fully engaged.
But I'm struggling to see how a sailor hat fits into a jive to 'Jump, Jive and Wail'.

Can't say it's a song I was familiar with until I went to KD. Where they also played a bit of 'Let's get loud', which featured in the SCD Tour.

(Before you read the next paragraph you have to understand that I am so out of date regarding modern music/songs. I've heard of some of the people involved in the charts since 2000 but only in very exceptional cases could I tell you the names of any songs they sing.)

In a further connection to the SCD Tour, I was browsing YouTube for songs by my current favourite singer and thought 'that doesn't sound like a Rick Astley song' so clicked it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBrqSQN_Uxk
Once it started playing I recognised it as the 'Jayshrug' song.
https://mobile.twitter.com/Janetnbec...928832/video/1

I also thought of the Jayshrugs when I watched the Judge last night. (At about 47 seconds.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYJC1_-zc8k

ETA: Link to Monkseal's SCD Pro poll results.
https://monkseal.wordpress.com/2016/...pro-poll-2016/
I was a bit confused by the 'most common score' etc bits till I remembered that we marked everyone either 1-10 or 'don't know'.

When Laura danced the cha cha, I said her legs are too bent, thinking how good Jay's legs and feet were in his cha cha. Then Len said that her legs were too flexed! So I was right!

Jay's Instagram!!! Wow. Though I suppose it's logical because the photo on MD had to come from somewhere.

Thank you very much for the link, Cat09.

Really enjoyed rewatching the CCC. Nervous but such lovely lines even in week 1. Aliona really does look delighted to be dancing with him too.

Shall we rewatch the equivalent Jaliona dance each week?

Enjoyed the tour rhumba video too.

Yes, that might be fun to do.

I hadn't seen that version of the tour rumba before - it was gorgeous.

I've lost the post for a minute, so thanks for the links whoever it was - ? Lisa?

Thanks everyone for the links to dances, music etc. The only trouble is, I'm now all tearful (in a good way).
Watching Judge? Robert? Rinder? again cheered me up though - fun. (I think I might call him JRR to save confusing myself.

NOT particularly looking forward to Kevin tonight - I used to like him but he's gradually got more and more out of control. Perhaps he'll redeem himself.

It sounds a good idea to watch the dances again in order (with box of tissues and soft throwing objects to hand, tv's fairly new) to remind ourselves of how it should be done (with one or two exceptions )

Oh please don't be surprised.
Ali we know is the best and Tristan was so nice and a good choreographer.

What a good idea Jayfan.

I still have them recorded from last year and can watch and do immediate comparisons.
Cha cha - there were none last night I liked as much as Jay's --even with his nerves.

And I can't discuss the tango from last night that wasted 34 seconds of faffing abaht

Imagine if Strictly did same sex partnerships and they put JRR (like it, Isih!) with Kevin ...

I usually save them using screengrab. Right click on the photo, go to 'save' 'selection' and you can use your mouse to select the area that you want to save. Click on the green tick and save wherever you want.

If anyone knows a better way, please let me know

Sorry to clip and I'm sure it's even worse form to post three times in a row but on rewatching the JRR clip, I noticed the scales of justice balancing in the background. It's going to like that bloody train all series through isn't it!

PS - Rewatching Jay's equivalent dances each week is a great idea.

I'm up for the rewatching too- this year still isn't getting me excited. Enjoyed most of last night but I'm with len on the faffing about, it got on my nerves. Made me miss the days here we got a full 90 seconds of dancing as opposed to gimmicks

Was nice to see Aliona progress so far up Monkseal's pro poll this year, helped by everyone here I don't doubt

Just watched the clip from pointless and was 😂 so much, their frienship is so lovely and it's great to see.

Going back to uni today so I may miss the excitement tonight but thankfully I have a tv licence so it will keep.me entertained tomorrow morning.

*waves and sends good wishes to posters and lurkers alike*
