I think this is the dance I have watched the most often – I just love the gentleness of it. Rather than bore you with me rabbiting on, here are a few GIF's of my favourite moments....

Leading off

Pivots

Control

THAT gentle smile

Beautiful Lines

Spinning gracefully

Left hand fingers

End pose

ETA Great Reviews Fatskia, T-Bird, Lola & Beth
Thank you too for the great Reviews from everyone - from a few words to several paragraphs, including gifs and pictures or not, including teknik or not

It was the Waltz that first really caught my eye and I thought - Gosh that lad can dance so beautifully! - How beautifully J and A dance.

Remember way back on the thread during Week 2, knowledgeable people said you could see J had had some dance training with a partner because of the way he held his left hand for Aliona in the Waltz.

Perhaps J was going on his travels on the train to buy a Dr Who TARDIS, or even a Dalek! (Not really, the Dalek went to someone in the South.)

Think the quiz was very tongue in cheek and was sending up Hyacinth Bucket snobbery.
http://play.bbc.co.uk/play/pen/g69qfl7gph

Going back to our previous discussion on rich and poor - some like Bill Gates use their skills very well, others like Alan Sugar are very good business people or others like Paul McCartney are very talented.

And then there's BHS - just listening to the MP's Hearing about it on the News

danceagogo oh, to be retired and to be able to watch Wimbledon, take Fred the real dog a walk and generally chill

Ooohh jayfan, following that trajectory perhaps J should worry about meeting you again even more than meeting Korky

ETA Fred the real dog says we need more real dogs around here

If you wish upon the star enough you never know in the dim and distant future in a galaxy far, far away, one day you will stumble upon a little hand made cottage in a magical, sunlight, wooded glen and inside J will be waiting for you

Jaybird, Jaybird, you let me come in!
It's so cold outside and so cosy within.
Jaybird, Jaybird, can I sit on your lap?
Of course, jump up and we'll both have a nap.
Jaybird, Jaybird, I love you to bits!
If you ever leave me I'll be broken in bits.
Jaybird, Jaybird, what shall we do?
I don't mind as long as it's always with you.

Have often thought the waltz is the dance J and A should have been given in the final as the judges' choice.

Fitted the bill.

It was a week 2 dance. Good. Room for improvement. Let's see what you can do. Would have been much more compatible with the judges' other choices.

Don't worry FRED. Time does not stand still and you will get to retirement status!! 😜

It is great though. I have to say.

Agree with you that the waltz should have been the judges' choice . I would have loved to have seen it again. I think we can probably all speculate why it wasn't ever going to be chosen.

I wouldn't even have minded seeing the CCC again ( with a different outfit, not that the original would have fitted him by the end of the series I suspect).

I fear for Jay when I hopefully meet him at MK,it could go one of two ways, I will either be too shy to talk to him or get a tad emotional, I have six years of stuff to tell him and so little time.

I just hope that I can finally meet him after all this time.

McG - Why not write a letter to him telling him everything you've wanted to say through six years and take it with you. Then, depending on what you feel like and how any meeting goes, you could hand him your letter and retreat.

Good plan!

Fred

Oh, that beautiful waltz - so gentle and tender. I'd really love to see it again, maybe in KD? I'm glad they didn't dance it in the Final - on such a sour night it would have killed the romance completely.

Good idea, I did think about doing that but then thought that knowing me it would turn into War and Peace.

I will give it a go nearer the time, thank-you.

Mind you, can't remember, was it Wimbledon or Watfotd who had a terrible name? To do with fans I think. Or neither? 😱
Whom did Vinnie Jones play for?
He was Wimbledon wasn't he.

Ooh just had a wild thought.
Vinnie Jones doing SCD. Who could we partner him with????😁

War and Peace is fine - get it all out of your head then you can edit it later!

Good question. No Aliona to whip him in to shape. Somebody 'ladylike' might have viewer potential for conflict!! 😋

Made me smile. Perfect😜

Or it could a have turned the night completely the other way.
If it had been judges choice and danced to perfection (which let's face it would have happened) there would have been nothing on gods green earth that ANY of the fudges could have faulted.
The romance, the unison, the dance would have shone through.

Write down the important things you want to say/know/get across.

Practise out loud.

Pretend you're a meerkat.
Simples.

Last bit tongue in cheek by the way McG.

You'll get there!!

I did decide to ignore them. They did not exist for me.

Except they occasionally snuck through my defences.

However there were certain dances that elicited praise. Usually from Bruno. Sensible comments relating to constructive critique. So yes I listened to those.

I had a system in place where I received a thumbs up for positivity or thumbs down for idiotic negativity. A bit like throwing the Spartans to the lions.

Don't know what happened in the quote you were looking at.

I definitely typed " Spartans "not "y"

Odd. The vagaries of technology.

Anyhoo. Night night

There is another side to being retired when Wimbledon (and football) is on! I cannot stand either of them and have, in previous years, had difficulty finding anything to watch. However, now I have my Now TV box, I can watch lots of things which I have missed as we don't have Sky.

By the way Manuel came from Barcelona!

I tried to tell her it had to have wheels otherwise she would have to get planning permission but she wouldn't listen, just told me it was for her and J only

But we could do one on wheels, look at this one;

http://zcrdq.com/744-little-house-fo...nd-001-lo-res/

It's even got a portable hot tub so we don't have to miss the one we installed at The Gutter. I'm sure if we had a quick crowdfund whipround we could afford one
Oh yes please, would love one of those, let's go for it.
