I don't think she will last more than a few weeks now, even if she is well enough to carry on dancing. Yet there are some now suggesting this might see her through to the final, carried there because of donating her fee to charity.

That would be amusing though, in the year of more ringers and higher marks than ever before. (Sorry, just me being naughty.)

To get my post on topic: will anyone have a dance that goes viral like Jay's jive last year? Or have we already had that moment in week one with JRR?

Edit :

I think that JRR's cha-cha is going to take this year's crown for the dance that goes viral, for the same sort of reason as Jay's jive. Both were dances which made me think wtf did I just see - it's just in Jay's case it was because it was unexpectedly, jaw-droppingly good and in JRR's case it was unexpectedly, jaw-droppingly OTT.

Mind you, Monkseal in his blog on ITT put forward the theory that JRR's cha-cha was the most watched clip from the show ever, largely because the BBC had put it on auto-play every time someone went to the facebook page

I'm sure you will all be pleased to know that I have man-handled, grappled with and beaten into submission my pesky spreadsheet, although given that last year the client then proceeded to change his mind about 20 times as to what he actually wanted I'm not holding my breath that I have seen the last of it yet. However, going on the basis that I won't be seeing it for another year - woohoo dream central tonight

Sadly Mo, I'm not Zoltan but I do have access to a Tardis so can travel in time and space with my Doctor;

I'm not really supposed to give away anything that happens in the future in any detail but I think I can safely tell you all that Jay wins the Oscar for Best Actor for his portrayal in the film adaptation of the best selling novel "Falling Slowly" You read it here first folks

I better hurry up and finish it then. If it takes too long he'll be too old to play himself🤔😀

What we need is a thesis about all nicknames given to various couples over time with footnote attributions, well-researched of course!

Loved the Thousand Years waltz, both on SCD and KD (wouldn't have had to look it up - both some of my favourite dances and I love the song despite the fact that it came from Twilight ).

I can't remember what the criteria back then were for selecting final judges dance, but I remember there was one specific mistake in that routine she had to correct. Pash had choreographed this beautiful move where she was rotating clockwise, but for the first part she was facing forwards on the one leg and then she changed legs to face backwards, but never interrupting the rotation. When she first did it, it didn't quite go smoothly and she was hopping a bit to keep it going / retain her balance. In the Final she did it perfectly. Okay, so her technique overall had improved by the final, but this was the particular bit. Gorgeous dance.

ETA spreeathen - so it's YOU who gave me this cough

What I was going to say this morning was that last night I found a lovely Jay compilation vid which I don't remember seeing before.
It's Jay McGuiness- Drink it from the bottle (Calvin Harris).
The music is not to my taste so I had to turn it down low, but it had a lot of my favorite clips.

Hopefully someone will find it. Enjoy.

Dislike the music but did indeed enjoy the pictures, so thanks for this!

As an athletics fan I want Greg to do well, so I hope his fair start continues. I like him - but I've liked him for 10 years or so - and would love for him to improve and progress as far as possible. That's where my votes are at the moment.

Ed deserves all plaudits coming his way. He's the worst dancer, but not a comical turn, so good on you Katya.

Think Danny is an excellent dancer- his previous training is obvious, but he doesn't have the soul of Jay and of course he doesn't have Aliona 😢

Like Claudia and AJ's partnership, but feel he should be tucked up in bed. So young - especially to an oldie🤗

Tameka annoys me, but that's because I don't like loud people. Her rhythm is pretty good though.

Hope Lesley and Anton get a few weeks down the line before being voted off.

Brendan is not my favourite pro, and I don't know Anastacia( let's face it you have to be Elvis, Neil Diamond, the Stones or the Moody Blues for me to know you as a singer), so was not particularly taken with their partnership.

Hoping Naga proves to be worth watching as I like her, but not too sure after last week.

I thought Judge Rinder was a woman before the show started( you can tell I don't get out much). He has an entertainment value.

The rest have evaded my consciousness, though I do know Ore from commentating, but can't even remember now his dancing partner.
Daisy/ Louise getting lots of plaudits , but so far have found them boring, personality wise along with Will Y, Melvin and Laura- actually think she might have a bit more going for her in that department than the rest.

Anyway, Good Luck to all. In the words of Brucie- you're all my favourites as there's no Aliona, Jay, ..........and before that Harry..........Matt.

Great to watch without reaching for the phone and dialling like a mad man, - stomach churning, hoping a certain someone survives, - because I do still enjoy the show.

Think some of the judges' scoring has been off the wall.
I don't mind when judges differ to each other - we know Craig and Len like different things- I can't stand when judges' comments differ to different celebrities.

Will not be around much this month. Just lurking.
To come- family visiting, staying over, new kitchen, new grandchild, which will also bring family from England, friends from Australia arriving etc, never mind my normal day of running between my house and my 98 yr old mother's house 🎽

I hope the rest of you enjoy Keeeeeeeeeeeeeping on Post..........................ing
Catch up later 💃👍”

I don't think Ive cut any of your post about the celebs this year Danceagogo as I agreed with so much 👍😊
BIB1 - Yes I like Greg a lot as a personality and hope he gets the confidence on the dance floor that he has in the Long Jump. he has the most wonderful smile too.
BIB2 Well Ed has to be my highlight from last week-end - I just didn't expect it 😳😝- don't think anyone did - Katya seems to be very encouraging and a great match for him on SCD💃🚶🏻
BIB3 - Yes totally agree re Danny but have decided that I am going to "judge" him on his own merits as opposed to comparing him to Jay. I love Oti and don't find her smug at all - in fact I think she is just really chuffed to have a contender after last year. ALSO she seemed to get on really well with Jay last year and her gran liked Jay when SCD was shown in South Africa so I really feel obliged to like her. - 😜seriously I am glad to see more of her this year.
BIB4 I think we will see Lesley and Anton for a few more weeks - have to say for a lady of her years she is a fantastic mover and her personality comes across really well.
BIB5 Yes agree again - Louise, Ore, Will are 'nice' - can't say I dislike them but I could easily put kettle on while they are dancing too -they just haven't grabbed my attention. I am hoping Laura does well - she is confident but is getting an unfair time with the press inventing stories about a tiff with Georgia over Gio...and goodness knows we all know about the press and their 'stories' from last year.🙄😠
BIB6 - Yes it is just lovely to sit back, relax and enjoy the programme this year for what it is and especially knowing that in a few weeks I will be seeing Jay and Aliona create their magic in Edinburgh...followed by even BIGger things.🎹🎭🎶🎵🎤
and really hoping to catch up with you while there.

✨Best wishes🍀🍀🍀 and Luck ✨with all your family events happening soon - exciting times.

Bit of chat in the office today about SCD.
(Not initiated or steered by me. My SCD interests are a carefully guarded secret!)
General view- Danny dismissed as a good but what do you expect he is a trained dancer.
I suspect his lack of 'journey' may count against him.
Lot of love for Ed and Katya though.

Like I said "smug" is not being used as an insult in this case (despite its usual connotations). People are happy for Oti - she's "smug" only in the same sense that Aliona was for getting J last year. She had a rough deal her first year - this is a nice opportunity for her to show what she can do.

I was really critical of Katya in the "first steps" training video. I'm really happy to have been proved wrong. I think she's fab and doing a great job with him (and he certainly does seem to be having a good time, from the limited picture we get from ITT). I wonder how she'd do with a non-duffer.
