Hannah, as you're on twitter, how do you feel about sending it to J for NPD?

This is my favourite poem:
He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. - W.B. Yeats |

Evening everyone.
Great poetry today - congratulations to all: Rafferty, TT, Korky, Whiffle as Isih Some very interesting news about DVO. I don't know any of the workings of theatre, but had there been contracts signed? Whatever the reason, I don't suppose we will find out any time soon. Well, as it is NPD today, here is my own tawdry effort [it has been torture trying to do this - not likely to ever be repeated]. Apologies too - I tried to word something around Jay, but my mind wouldn't co-operate.0 And down I shall go to the wood to play word games. Others said that if I could, to weave my thoughts as on a loom. A tapestry of words to bloom. They say that if I should, words will fall to the pen Once done, to do again. So down I go to the wood. to play word games. Sorry to hear it was agony though!

I would like to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to:-
BB, Korky, isih, TT, whiffle, jayfan, Mo_Wilson, and anyone else I might have missed, for all the wonderful poetry contributions. Some of you provided us with multiple delights. I know how much Deise Days loved poetry, and was so encouraging to us all in our efforts. How she would have loved today, on the thread. Mayhap she is lurking. I hope so. It would be great to have her back, posting as before. I'm not clear as to why she left, in the first place. All I know is: she left a big hole, where once she stood. |

It's also great that we're still having new posters join us. |

Land of dreams, land of dreams
What have you in store tonight? Floating on clouds above fields of green Looking around at a beautiful scene Everything feeling so serene Oh what a wonderful sight Land of hope, land of hope How will you make me feel? The earth has colours of every hue Suspended with a bird's-eye view Hovering over a sea of blue Life's on an even keel Land of love, land of love Whose face will I soon behold? Dreaming of him who's so far away Sighing at close of every day Observing the slowly dying bouquet From him whom my arms will enfold |

So he'll go no more a-boozing
So late into the night Though the spirit be still as willing And the moon be still as bright For the dance wears out the shoe And rehearsing wears out the man And the heart must pause to breathe So on beer there is a ban Though the night was made for drinking And the day returns too soon Yet he'll go no more a-quaffing By the light of the moon |

Bit of a fly-by post tonight - creeping in whilst family out with Fred the Real Dog again.
Thank you all so very, very much for the wondrous poetry today - loved it ![]() Oh hannah - I loved that too. ![]() Great that the Jive is still being promoted and numbers are up - thanks for the stats StrictlyRed and not forgetting reserve BMLisa Been watching last year's ITT where J and A discuss the QSathon and Tango - and J teases A over 'Results'. Can see the laughter bubbling up in his eyes beforehand as he catches Zoe's eye. Love it No idea who to support this year Really liked your points PollyT, danceagodo - tried late last night to post about them, but lost the lot DS seemed to be slow and wouldn't work properly - had to give up and go to bed. hannah loved the phrase BIBathon to describe Polly's post ![]() Won't get hooked on anyone this year, much less stressful . I've watched Strictly from the beginning and have supported other couples, but nothing like J and A.Am still very interested and hope to go to Edinburgh but it'll have to be midweek with some friends who just like dance, so better keep my head down a bit. No shouting out - will applaud a lot and cheer ![]() This year's Strictly? Well J liked Oti and as jayfan says, Oti thinks the Jive is one of the best ever Strictly dances. A likes Gio. I like Ed Balls for doing his best, like JRR for his character - but it might get a bit much, have liked Greg on non-athletic programmes before and I like Natalie. Will is witty, Claudia surprising. Oh I don't know Have a good time at KD in Manchester jayfan Thanks for the KD links janetshep Hope you feel better soon Spree - J would probably enjoy a day off from Korky's plumbing and rehearsals for Big - goodness, that lad is busy . Am sure he'd like to go along to nurse you and go to nurse TT too.Looking forward to hearing about Big - bet it'll be super. No idea about why the change for DVO, but Jessica Martin is very good.Do wonder if J will do more musical theatre - he seemed to be approaching it in the same serious way he approached Strictly. Thought it was telling that Jessica Martin is very successful, but not easily recognised except by keen musical fans - might suit J? Thinking of poetry, have you come across this? I love At the Intersection, but Fred the Real Dog is not so keen on Frisbee https://unbound.com/books/brian-bilston |

You can share it on Twitter from Youtube. Click on "share" under the title of the video, second icon from the left is Twitter, click on that and then type @JayMcGuiness at the start of the text box that comes up. You can edit the message, too.
. I just about got it done on the actual day concerned. Would have been a bit dim of me to miss NPD by half an hour.![]() Just realised (again) what the blimmin time is. I have been working but I need me sleep. Repeat at 2 minute intervals. I am retired. I am retired Nope I still have work to do. On spreadsheets Lola Does that mean I get THE dream tonight. No butting in though KLTD😉 Oh well night folks 😴 |

Morning everyone.
Thanks for the kind words about my poetry[?] last night. But I won't be doing it again! I am away for a break for the next few days. So everyone going to shows or with plans for the weekend - enjoy. Those who are ill - get better soon. I am going to try and watch Strictly on the I-player and if I get the chance to keep up with the thread. Take care of yourselves. |

Yes, it's wonderful celebrating National Poetry Day on here and great to see novices inspired to write. I really hope everyone keeps it up.

No, I'm not on twitter or any social media. Lots of techy folks on here will help you though.
![]() ![]() Oh, wait a minute. I've just remembered. It's often you bringing the titbits back. Oops. Perhaps I should have said, that it's me who's a bit dependent on others, in this regard. I would like to say, that I'm very grateful to all who bring goodies to the thread, garnered from all social media, YouTube etc. You've all brought so much pleasure to Twitter-shy folk, such as I. It's most generous of you all, to share like that.

Fred Absolutely agree that Jessica's a much better fit for J, I'm sure he'll be very happy to have her and Gary as his wing people. I don't know if he knows either Diana or Erwin at all from TW days? |
