Good morning (just) all

Thank you all for pomes and stuff (and appreciation of doggerel.) Not quite sure what's happened to the quotes here, but I think it still makes as much sense as I usually do.

And somewhere I wanted to quote Toad and Rafferty on the ITT issue but it seems to have gone missing. Totally agree on how it can enhance/affect the view we have of people. Even though the questions are so formulaic the WAY people reply/react is often more revealing than what they say.

BIB 1 Isn't it just? I really, really hope they keep it in. I don't think it was included in the touring production, and I can't understand why. It's such a beautiful song.

It sounds as though it is stock wording jayfan, as I had something like that from Theatre Royal Plymouth.

I don't think you miss out on J and A related stuff Rafferty, because from what I've seen it tends to end up back here anyway. In fact, sometimes I come on to post something seen on Twitter, and 9 times out of 10 someone beats me to it!

I was first with yesterday's BIG news though, as I happened to see it in a notification from the Theatre on my Faceboook.😇

I also follow people that are not related to Strictly though, so I get a variety of things on my timeline.

It's my favourite poem (even though I don't quite understand some of it!). Yes, there's lots of other stuff that I love, both old and modern, many brilliant writers, lots of poems that critics consider infinitely better, but the musicality and flow of this one always caught me.

Well its been a long time since I was on here and I have been away for the last three and a half weeks so have missed the beginning of the series. I have looked back at some of your posts and I notice that there has been a bit of a 'to do' about Jay v Danny.

I watched last weeks show on catch up and my first thought about Danny (without reading anything on the forum at all) was that he had had previous dance experience and wondered if he would get the 'ringer' tag like Jay.

I know I am biased but Jay is much more likeable than Danny. The latter to me seems a bit 'I love myself'. Jay was very understated and did it his way. Funnily enough I said to my friend that he would be compared with Jay.

I'm glad I didn't get involved in the Jay v Danny spat as I don't think I could held back. Do I take it that the Jay hater from last year (name of a plant mostly in Scotland) is back again!!!

Unsurprisingly, hatahs coming out of the woodwork, but interestingly, a lot more reasonable comment than I had expected (I think that in order to keep it that way, it's incumbent on J supporters to avoid leaping to J's defence as though every word in favour of Danny is an attack on J).

Possibly because they are so different that less hysterical discussions often veer from "who's better" into "there's room the world for both".

But Louise is really gonna have to work to get rid of that "nice" tag! I really think she needs to be sexy rather than technical (well both, obviously, but emphasis on letting go). I think she has it in her - whether she'll ever use it is another question.

She could, but she also needs to have the right choreography which means that K has to lose the "nice" too.

OK, in Real Life I am well known for poor timekeeping, so I hope nobody minds me stepping in a day late for NPD to share a poem that has helped me more often and in more ways than I care to remember.

It's by Susan Coolidge (she of "What Katy Did"

), and quite well known, but may be a bit sentimental or old fashioned for some - step away now if it's not for you.

Anyway, as I said, I've returned to it a lot for various reasons over the years, especially the first and last lines.

Every day is a fresh beginning
Listen my soul to the glad refrain
And, spite of old sorrows
And older sinning
Troubles forecasted
And possible pain
Take heart with the day and begin again.

From what I see of twitter, no, we are definitely not missing out; quite the reverse...

National Poetry Day yesterday was great fun and very moving and I sincerely hope that everyone will continue to write. It's very therapeutic to "let it all out" too.

BIB Ooh that takes me back Red - I got that book as a prize at school. It was bound in red with gold embossed lettering & I loved it

I think Polly, Jnb, DD, Speedy and I are going to the matinee on the 7 Jan too. Certainly some of us are. Polly may be able to confirm.

ETA I think Polly and Danceagogo might be going to KD on November 19 too.

I may just be confused though.....
