At least Bruno managed to make it a holy trinity with Jill and Jay.

.... and I suppose the 10's are ok because it is week 4

ETA - it was the best dance of the night though

ETA 2 - closely followed by Danny's quickstep.

Yes. Athletic. Limited technique. Joanne out of breath.
All very scripted to make a competition with Danny.

He said 'Move over Jay'.
Unnecessary.
All to create a story in the media.

Absolute and utter bollocks.

Move over Len, Bruno and Darcey (as it's only week four)

Not even close to Jay and Aliona.

Missed Ore's performance, it might have been brilliant but "Move over, Jay"?!
Sorry, Ore is not getting any of my votes tonight.
Hope he's safe though.

So if Jay and Aliona had done their jive a week later, would they have got more 10's???
Seems unfair to me, nothing against Ore but feeling a bit at the moment.

Okay I've seen ore's so called better jive performance than Jay.........I'm absolutely astonished by the bull that came out of the judges mouths.... look I told my mother to watch it, first showed ore's she said it was so frantic she couldn't really focus on the actual performance some of his technique wasn't perfect then I showed her the scores she was as confused as I was... then I presented her with what a jive should actually look like then showed her the scores and she was amazed and speechless as to how tonight's jive got such comments and scores and trust me she is the most objective you can get.

I don't think I am just looking at it through Jay coloured glasses but the technique was just not as good. Athletic yes. Joanne out of breath at the end yes. I thought Louise's was better than Ore's in terms of technique.

Just all so scripted and staged to grab the viewers.

Well, it's no surprise, really. By the end it was clear Jay had been sent to Strictly Coventry and is clearly still there. Danny getting 10s.... Fair. While I don't warm to him, he's a fabulous dancer. He's probably better than Jay tbh, although by no means as engaging. Ore - found the whole thing a bit over pushed and frantic with kicking for the sake of it, like someone trying to shake a spider off their leg. Not my thing.

Just seen O's clip. Yes, it's scripted so as to fabricate competition between D and O and between O and J for ratings and to induce talk. It isn't honest and it won't work. Jo lifted some of A's choreography too.

My theory: Len hates Ore.

If there is one thing he could have said guaranteed to get Jay's fans to give their votes anywhere but at him, it was that.

I thought Ore's jive was really good, but didn't like it nearly as much as Jay's. I really don't think it's worth getting het up over though. Comparing scores one week to the next is pointless, so from one year to another is utterly futile. Of course they have to create a bit of drama, and end up saying some numpty-ish things along the way, but whatevs. I just feel very 'shruggy' about that stuff .

My favourite dances tonight were Danny's QS (and I thought Laura's pretty decent, too), and Louise's foxtrot (albeit a touch polite). Judge Rinder's VW engaged me too. Claudia and AJ did a nice job.

Was a little disappointed in Lesley's charleston - though she did well with it. Thought the routine was a bit dull. Naga came out of her shell a little, which was nice to see. Neither rumba really lit my fire and Greg is being over praised. I admire his effort, but don't see the dancer yet.

Poor Ed. That didn't go to plan. Campy arms again, though the cape work was good. Threw him a couple of votes .

It had none of the smooth, cool, easy style, vibe and grace of Jay's jive. And Aliona's brilliant partnering and innovative choreography.

But I'm not surprised by the comments from the judges - they'll want a Clifton win this year and the odds have now been lengthened with Will's departure. I was going to spread my votes tonight, but they all went to Danny and Oti - he's a far better dancer than Ore could ever hope to be.

Wait for the poll tomorrow on the main forum....Jay's or Ore's jive, what was your favourite??

I thought Danny & Oti's quickstep was lovely.

The theming/music choices prevented me enjoying almost every dance this week except Danny's. Made me notice he hasn't had to fight against a bad music choice yet.

Unfortunately the manipulation is now so obvious, especially after last year. Maybe TPTB thought that as there was such an overwhelmingly positive response to Jalionas' jive they would try to artificially replicate it. But lightning doesn't strike twice & it could all backfire. Spotted more than one or two bits of copying too Korky.

Ok, I've rewatched both dance and wish to revise my (obviously non-expert!) opinion. Danny's quickstep was better than Ore's jive. For one thing, he and Oti actually dance as a couple whereas Ore and Joanne looked a bit like two people who just happened to be on the floor at the same time on occasions. For a second thing, Danny's quickstep was fun, whereas I don't think Ore's jive will stand too much repeat watching.
It really is scripted isn't it - the only question is what is the aim?

I don't think I am going to stray to any other threads apart from a peak at the spoiler thread. I know it is not really rational but it will make me too cross.
Len didn't need to say that tonight.
Can't stand the game playing. Just like XFactor. Enjoyed the show more when I didn't realise that.
Will stick to watching the dance clips without the judges.

Jay and Aliona jive was mesmerising. Edge seat I need to watch that again and again.

Ore's version is good and it's different. I won't be rewatching, once is enough and my votes went to Ed and Katya.
