I also was going to discuss teknik in the flicks and kicks which was pretty poor to be honest. He lost count and forgot to point his toes on more than one or two occasions. But, again to be honest, after that debacle of marking and commentary I can't be bothered. If the so called ballroom judge cannot or will not comment on the footwork in a jive then why should I care.

The comment re Jay was completely unnecessary and, yes, was a ploy of some sort.

Anyhoo apparently this is not a competition for just this year's celebs. Next week Darcy will say Daisy danced a better Tango than Abbey.

So I'm out of here. Byeeee

I didn't vote but if I had it would have been for Ed or Lesley. Haven't seen all the dances yet though.
What was Claudia like?

Unfortunately if some viewers are told by "experts" that something is good/better they will believe it. I am just so thankful, dear Whiffle, that we have J's beautiful dances on YouTube and here to wallow in.

But I'm not surprised by the comments from the judges - they'll want a Clifton win this year and the odds have now been lengthened with Will's departure. I was going to spread my votes tonight, but they all went to Danny and Oti - he's a far better dancer than Ore could ever hope to be.”

Picked BB's comment to reply to because of BIB- BigSis calls it the vague, gentle anarchy that Jay (and Aliona) brought to all their dances!

Thought Lesley was brill, love Anton's delight
Love Daisy but thought she was a bit careful in the rumba
Wish they would give JRR a chance, he does have signs of being able to move his legs properly

Still not got a want to win

I liked Ore's jive, but he doesn't have the legs that Jay has (or other bits, but lets me mildly technical about this). I don't think Jo pinched Aliona's choreography so much as payed homage to it, and I think Ore was genuinely moved by the reaction to it. Darcey's week four 10 - pah! Bruno the only honest one amongst them - or the only one with a working memory!

I think unless he goes all cocky about it next week, I will prefer Ore to Danny as being less polished.

I know we all have our subjective opinions but really some people really think ores jive is better than THAT jive... it's actually not surprising at the least that people who are saying ores routine tonight was better than jays are actually people who detested Jay from the get go.. makes me laugh actually reading some of these remarks.. did Ore's jive actually get the same spontaneous reaction as Jays?? I couldn't watch until the end I had enough at that point where comments were starting to be made.

They tried very hard to suggest that it had. Tess said we have not a reaction like this since.. I thought she was going to say since Jay but didn't go quite that far. I didn't think the reaction was the same but I knew then it was going to get tens because the story line was obvious.
In fact I said to a friend when I heard about Ore's interview on ITT, that I thought he would get tens tonight. When I read that Danny had not got tens and realised Ore was on last, the only question was how many tens.

BIB Oh, so true and so brilliantly put! I loved that gentle anarchy.

Haven't watched Ore's jive yet. I switched off as they were about to dance because I had a suspicion something like this was going to happen. Might watch it tomorrow, might decide to give the whole flaming shemozzle a miss for the rest of the year.

ETA - Jayfan I think we're on the same wavelength this evening ....

Len didn't need to say that tonight.
Can't stand the game playing. Just like XFactor. Enjoyed the show more when I didn't realise that.
Will stick to watching the dance clips without the judges.”

I'm just so grateful that J has no connection with this farcical programme now and is on to far better things.

Welcome back skylark

Glad to hear Claudia was good. I will wander off and have a look.

My favourite dances tonight were Danny's QS (and I thought Laura's pretty decent, too), and Louise's foxtrot (albeit a touch polite). Judge Rinder's VW engaged me too. Claudia and AJ did a nice job.

Was a little disappointed in Lesley's charleston - though she did well with it. Thought the routine was a bit dull. Naga came out of her shell a little, which was nice to see. Neither rumba really lit my fire and Greg is being over praised. I admire his effort, but don't see the dancer yet.

Poor Ed. That didn't go to plan. Campy arms again, though the cape work was good. Threw him a couple of votes .”

Agree.

I said to MrB that if Danny's dance had been last in the running order, he would have got the 10s - a much cleaner and polished routine I think.

Re jive and me moaning.....cos nothing will ever top that jive. Fact.
Forgot - it was week 3. 😂😂 That was the curse- not the content. If only Jay had got week 4........😱

OH - who listens, but doesn't participate...😭 and thinks I'm mental😎

What are you on about. Jay has made his own way and is an obvious success.
Thought there was something nice about that 🤗

Hooked on the Charleston ATM - if I have a couple of mins to spare before going out. Though this morning it also led to salsa & jive

Haven't been a fan of Danny his quick step was charming however his hold was peculiarly better than Oti's lol.. he just isn't very engaging but if the judges were going to dish out those 10's I would rather it have been for Danny much much much better than Ore's routine

I agree, but then that wouldn't have fitted the producers' script...

Agree Soupy.

They're just trying to drum up interest, but did think Len's comnent was pointed and uncalled for, considering the good opinion he has of himself.

Hope you are well on to the way to recovery now.
Have been off the thread for a while. RL etc, etc😋

Just watched Claudia.
I really like watching her but have to look away from AJ.
She has a lot of grace and strength as you might expect from a gymnast I suppose. I didn't like the cheesiness of the routine though and didn't immediately recognise it as a foxtrot. I think with some more modern or interesting choreography she could be really, really good. I called her out as a finalist after the first week and would like to see her stay in.
