We're on the Penzance sleeper train now (sharing a berth as it's cheaper) and J's feeling much better for an efficacious Strepsil* and Vicks* chest rub...

🛌

* Other throat lozenges and vapour rubs are available.

Just watched the Dance-off. Had my speech all prepared: "Parting is such sweet sorrow, but I think it's time, Ed"..........When Anastacia and Naga were announced. So, it's back to the grind-stone, with you, Ed. As my Grandmother would have said......"he's the luckiest thing in shoe-leather"....

Thanks jayfan, whiffle and TT. I was late in getting to see the main show, so my report was a bit late. It wasn't until I put it on the thread, that I saw how cross you all were (as indeed, I was). Hoped my report wouldn't make things worse, but then thought, it would probably get buried, in amongst all the fury: so no worries.

I, actually, have no problem in Ore competing with Jay's jive. Thrusting young males lock antlers, from time to time, trying to best each other. It's what they do: either quietly, or with great fanfare. I think Jay might be highly amused, to know he is a role model. And we all need role models. When we reach for the stars, and it all looks impossible, it's so much easier if we can try and emulate someone, who has already got there.
What I do have a problem with, is TPTB. The callous manipulation, with no regard for 'collateral damage'. It's all a bit disappointing, and, well..........grubby, really.
Puts me in mind of:- https://youtu.be/kx6aRCa8lrE

Enjoyed reading all your posts. Thought the poetry was great.

Hope Jay feels better soon. At least he'll be able to doze on the train: if he gets any peace, that is.

ETA. Sorry, TT. I meant to mention, above, how much I liked your report. Full of useful information, about the dances etc.

It's great when they see it, isn't it?

My daughter (not a particular fan of SCD) texted me to say that Ore's jive was 'skippy and hoppy' and that Jay was 'way cooler' 😎 I asked her whether she could remember Jay's jive, or had rewatched it, and she said......"oh, I remember, you showed me it enough times". Oops!

Jay, as one would expect, doesn't give a flying banana about last night's shenanigans:

Hi All,

Quickly popping in to share a couple of tweets from Jay's Dad about how Jay felt about last night.

ETA: Cat09Tales beat me to it!

BTW we watched Ore's Jive this evening. Little Miss ahouch's verdict: 'It was good but not as good as Jay's'. Nuff said.😀

Honestly, I'll tell J you would obviously have come etc etc if you hadn't been otherwise engaged.

So, um ...see you shortly ”

Oh himself can now look after himself . So that's sorted.

And I knew you'd all be after my job SOOOOO I have come down by emergency helicopter (provided by Vin of course ) and I am currently awaiting his arrival at Plymouth station

Korky stand back from the patient. He is infectious and only nurses from Pandora (thats me) are immune.

Now she's followed it up with a text saying "there's no one on a par with him this year". I'm so proud of my girl x

Clearly a number of us have very well brought up children!

Cato and Ahouch - thanks for the links to Jay's dad's tweet.
I didn't think for a minute that Jay would mind about last night's farce but I reserve the right to be cross anyway.

Oops. My secret is out.
It takes a heck of a lot of beige foundation to cover all that blue doncha know.😜

My completely unbiased husband's comments on Ore's jive - "Not what I would call a jive", "They didn't seem connected", "They didn't do anything together, only side by side".

He liked Danny's QS from the off!

Morning all
Just dipped into the Spoiler thread. Appears that things have turned rather unpleasant on there, the mods got involved and one of the main thread organisers is stepping down.
Very sorry to see that.

Have a good day all.

Danceagogo- I am on a train again today!

Fly by visit this morning to say thanks for the welcomes back. Couldn't manage yesterday due to a combination of internet problems and having caught the lurgy myself! Dear son has a cold which he kindly shared, only I bypassed the cold symptoms and went straight to chest infection

Off to see the doc this morning and, internet willing, will pop back later on today.

I am so sorry that has ocurred on that thread. It just goes to show it only takes a few vitriolic elements to potentially close threads down.

Those elements are best ignored. (If poss)

Jayfan you definitely are a train driver. Someone said it up thread and it must be so

Doh!

Wonder where they're rehearsing. Am sure I could find a reason to go and do some 'shopping'...

Bless him!!

Surely there must be a Jayjob for this . Hmmm maybe Navijaytor - someone whose sole responsibility it is to make sure he gets to where he needs to be. Can I beat Korky to it - despite the stereotyping for my gender I'm actually rather good at map reading & following directions....

Perhaps you could be Jay's guide for the next couple of weeks?

I thought Hannah was supposed to be looking after him, rubbing Vicks in his chest

Whiffle, I think you definitely ought to nip in, take him by the hand, and make sure he doesn't get lost again. Perhaps you could put ones of those wrist straps on him, like you use on toddlers, so he doesn't stray too far from your side.

Yes, you could become a human Jaynav.
