Have we all disappeared for 22 minutes then?! 🎶🎵🎶

(Cut out every "You know" and the interview would have been 11 minutes. )

I made him a scarf
With blue shaded wool
The better to blend
With the tint of his soul

I knitted it long
To wrap round his heart
An intricate pattern
State of the art

The scarf was so thick
To warm up his throat
It encircled his psyche
Kept his spirit afloat

I knitted a scarf
To keep out the chill
A blanket of love
And he wears it still

ETA - just reinforces my feeling that there's some thing "not very nice" about this series

Too many people taking it too seriously. Eyes on the prize instead of the experience. My mind always goes back to that interview with J and Anita (during Friday rehearsals) and they both just looked so genuinely affectionate and down to earth. I always really liked Anita - just not her feet! (and not Glen either).

Pretty sure Karen tweeted a couple of times after Will left, but it was all positive about him and also mentioned how it was a shame certain press soured it.

Wasn't there a furious tweet from Matthew Bourne?

I don't know, there could have been, but I didn't see it.

It wasn't really furious - he just said he was sad for Karen (and backed the 'bring back Tameka' campaign!)

ETA I wonder if Will would have stayed longer if he had been with last year's celebs.

I think you have basically hit the proverbial nail on the head. In past years there was always a certain amount of exposure from being on Strictly but in the last couple of years as it has massively overtaken XFactor the rewards for being on the show have increased. Even celebs that have been knocked out quickly refer to themselves as "taken part" in Strictly. Someone like Danny must look at Jay and Georgia who have both secured theatre shows and tv appearances and want what they have achieved and for Ore he probably looks at how much exposure Anita has got. In a cut throat industry it must be like being able to produce the most amazing show reel for auditions possible.

I think Jay said on the Irish radio interview something about how he had been told that he and Aliona had moved the show up a notch last year. It was obviously lucky timing in that XFactor was particularly dreadful last year but the media attention on the Jaliona 'romance', the huge impact of the jive, the passionate fan base for Jay, even babygate, and then the G&G romance, all helped to really boost the show's standing. It was huge last year and I think Jay said himself that the attention resulting from the show caught him by surprise.
I agree that this might affect the type of celebs (and their reasons for) joining the show. Celebs are not joining a show for 'old people' as my daughter might put it but one of the top rated shows that can really boost your profile.
There is certainly a very different feel this year from the bits I have seen (which admittedly is not that much compared to last year!)

Something has obviously happened this week to spin this story.

Just popped in to say hello. I'm in the middle of a busy week. Fulfilling work, with people whose company I love. So I'm a happy bunny.

Rosaportalc. So sorry to learn of your upsetting experience. Glad to see that it's all OK, now.

Best Wishes to everyone. Hope all coughs and colds, are now things of the past, and that any other dreaded lurgy has been seen off, successfully.

Lovely to listen to Jay in the interviews. Thank you for the links, to those, and the pics. And also for the new Shytown re-mix. Sounds much better imo. I'm sorry I can't remember who put the links up But, I do appreciate them.

There's just one thing I thought I'd ask. Pretend I had M/S Word 2010 (unused). Now, suppose I wanted to write something on it. How would I go about it? What sort of things get written there? What about the lefting and righting of the page, and why would I want to use that? If I wanted, say, to put something from there, onto the thread, how would I do that? Does it stay in 'Word' indefinitely, or does it have to be saved somewhere else? (Oh no, another magic ritual)......Don't think I mentioned that I'm a techno-toddler.

I certainly think the producers (through the judges) are endeavouring to manufacture a 'bigger and better' contest this year by inflating scores, heaping praise where it's not entirely due, creating rivalry, hiring more slebs with dance experience, assisting some with appropriate music and costumes, hampering others with daft themes and clothes, etc.

It seems to me too that they were trying to create almost mass hysteria with their reaction to the O jive.

Hi Cato.
Sorry was not clear. The point I was making was that story seems to have shifted over the week.
Last week the party line was that they got on etc but some one or something has stirred it all up again, this time blaming Will.

Yes, and the Beeb seems to be happy enough to embrace the stirring. Don't like it very much, whatever the truth.
