I so agree with this. I really enjoyed their Argentine Tango, but looking back, I think it was a bit too soon for Jay. The "intimacy", for want of a better word, was not quite there yet. By Rumba week, it definitely was. There is a Argentine Tango on UT: Santa Maria by the Gotan Project - I am not going to put up the link, as I think many on here know it already, and I think it is unfair to compare the two. I believe J & A were going for that style, but the AT came a couple of weeks too early in their partnership. They would kill it now.
When it was announced that J&A would be doing the AT, I looked at a lot of AT's on UT and many don't have a Goucho in sight - [just saying CRH]. I thought they both danced it as well as they could at that stage in the competition and both looked wonderful [it was my favourite look for Jay]. I would love to see them do a Waltz, Tango, Salsa, definitely. Yes, and a couple of new dances, but then, I am greedy ![]() Oh my, Santa Maria - J&A would certainly burn the floor with that! If either of them is reading this, get those fires lit now! |

*pokes head in
*I thought about if and what to respond to the comments re last night's topic(s), but whatever I might type will probably only cause more friction. As Jay related poems and innuendos as well as putting dance-related thoughts into decent English aren't really my forte, in the absence of J & A related news I'll just sign off. *waves and backs out of the thread slowly* |

I only know this because a TW fan on this thread pointed it out a while ago. I then looked back at the TW vid myself.
I remember thinking during that VT that he was very trusting going into a hairdresser who didn't "know" his hair. Now that is me putting my slant on it. I will not go to a new hairdresser for example. I didn't know for a couple of weeks that it was the guy who always did his hair and the guy who rescued his butchered Max cut. I think I must have read that here. I must have done |

Amen to all of that! Do you think we'll get away with multi-voting? I agree the best of the looks for both of them - pure Upper Class Buenos Aries

It may be time to remember that this thread is "in the public eye" and speculation about anyone's personal relationships, however "perceptive" some might find it, is just that.
Perhaps we should respect the privacy that Jay holds so dear and drop the matter. ETA DD ...like minds. Quote:

It's ok to go a-wandering, but think most people find speculation and innuendos are better avoided Remember to slowly back in, again 😊 My OT, sorry everyone is 🎾🎾🎾🎾🎾. Just had to say as think I've gone on enough to OH. Been at Gleneagles to see Tim Henman in the flesh - at last!!!! Just beautiful to see a one - handed backhand again. When Polly returns, she might appreciate it.😂😊😄 Just under 3 weeks till I go to Wimbledon.......💕 |

Hi all
I haven't done a dance review before but here is a bit of an odd one! I don't always watch Strictly but being a TW fan I decided to watch when I heard Jay was doing it - I thought it could be hilarious! But when he came out for the launch show I was a bit shocked - what's happened? Where has the sharp, confident, cheeky Jay gone? The Radio Times interview they did was a bit more like it, but I was really upset watching him in the CC VT and the show. I love his hair long but they didn't know how to style it - why pull it back in a schoolgirl style? If he was supposed to be a pop star they could have just held it back with a bandana...and the clothes .... I'm not an expert but I thought the dance was OK - he was very nervous, which still surprised me and he looked a bit inhibited, but he was obviously getting on well with Aliona. Then in the Clauditorium he obviously couldn't say anything, he was so nervous. It wasn't until the ITT that we saw flashes of his personality come through - loved the caveman!. But I think for me the CC week was overshadowed by missing the sharp and funny Jay I was used to seeing on YouTube. I wonder how many other TW fans were surprised? |

I forget English isn't your first language spree
![]() Think we're drawing a line under it all and pottering along in our usual easy going way ![]() Should think some J and A news will appear soon. The new Pros will be announced soon, it's only a couple of months until the new Strictly line up appears. Then there's the Launch where J and A should be on . Keep Dancing starts almost immediately so J and A will be about promoting that - I hope . Then Big starts - so preparations must be underway ![]() Do have a go at choosing 4 or more dances for the Keep Dancing Tour for Whiffle to compile. In my case I seemed to choose about 10 dances apart from the Paso ![]() To cut it down - a little bit only - in date orderWaltz, changed QS as J loves it so - hope they can fit it into the stage new AS, changed FT, Rumba, Tango, Charleston and some Tap ![]() Oh dear, that's 8 - multi voting ![]() Has someone already posted this that Aliona Tweeted with J and A 1.44 in https://youtu.be/FtneaXE24DA |

Are you being naughty in your KD dance picks The Paso is a given...do you think the Jive is too? I'd love either the AT or the Tango, preferably both but that won't happen I guess. I want the Charleston so that we see a different last lift. The Waltz / Foxtrot / VW any one because of the romanctic feel...ediging towards Waltz, I think. The CCC to see what he'd make of it now. The AS for a chance to see it without the obscuring makeup. I think the only ones I'm not so keen to see on stage are: Rumba, saw it live twice...would like to see others get an airing. Salsa, probably just me but I don't see it transfer to the stage as well. Jive...as for Rumba Have I missed any? ETA Agrion, I was the same as you...where was Jay? Plus, why on earth did they give him that poodle-perm look for the launch...I love his full curl look but that Now the CCC hair I'm puzzled by. There's a behind the scenes clip that shows Jay in full costume ascending the stairs to enter the stage but his hair isn't pinned up. I can only think that was dress rehearsal and for some reason it was decided last minute to pin it back. Well it was still better than poodle-perm for me.

I haven't missed a KD have I😂😂😂😉 I'm sure nobody is particularly bothered, 😊 but Hotel has built an indoor tennis court and there is an 'oldie' fun tournament held there now. Think it's going to be an annual event. This year it was Henman, Cash, Lindquist and Pioline. Great fun. Patter and proper tennis!! Hope you've not missed KD or I will have too😱💃 Wimbledon and I, at this rate, are going to be becoming best friends😁 |

I would choose Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, AT and Waltz - and for their curtain call the Tango!

![]() 1. Paso, by default 2. Waltz, 'cos it's when I fell in love with J's dancing 3. Tango, to see more masterful "curious poses" 4. Foxtrot, to see it as it should be done, including the back-to-back head tilt, the gorgeous sideways drag, and the "Lay Me Down" head-on-chest move, each of which alone is enough to set Korky off on a romancefest 5. Salsa, for the flirty side of J 6. Charleston, for complex step sequences with swivel and to see how that lift should really be done 7. American smooth, to see expression not hidden under overblown makeup for the sake of a theme 8. Argentine tango, to see intensity and smouldering sexuality Is that enough?

Do have a go at choosing 4 or more dances for the Keep Dancing Tour for Whiffle to compile. Taken as read that all dances will be danced perfectly : AT Waltz or VW Salsa or Charleston Showdance to relive the best too much ever. Will have to come back again when I've decided between the 2 waltzes and the 2 fun dances😄 |

Four dances - proper choice this time, no morris dancing (shame)
Paso is already a given Charleston - 'cos it's the Dr innit ![]() And then I'm sorry I know I am going against everyone on here, can I please have 2 completely new dances. I know lots want to see the SCD dances and yes blah blah they have their merit but I believe we should always move on in life, I would like something we have never seen before - please. |
