Going back a bit - liked Kate's interview. She does have the knack of listening to the person she's talking to.

I really loved the Radio Devon interview about Big in Plymouth. Thank you Strictly Red for noticing it, ahouch for posting the link and TsuntsuBird for finding the right bit

J does seem to be more relaxed with local radio and is very happy and chatty.
He says he hasn't sung 'properly' for 2, 3 years - got the impression he meant he hadn't sung on stage or in public for a couple of years - it's different and puts a different strain on your voice. (Not that I know much about it )

If you haven't heard it, do listen - if you've time, listen to the whole programme. There are several different interviews with 'backroom' people to do with the production as well as J and Gary W. If you like the theatre, it's really interesting.

Gary Wilmot is complimentary about J - and says it's a multimillion pound production. No pressure there then J
Gary W also says he was specifically asked to be in the production, and what a compliment that is. Seem to remember that J was specifically asked by the producers to 'have a chat' - a compliment too?

Really recommend listening to the Radio Devon interview - listen to the 'tone' of J's voice - he seems to be in his element.

To save hunting back, the link here again - J at about 2.09 after David Bowie's record.

Hi Fred 🙌

BIB1 - Yes enjoyed Kate's interview with Shytown's EJ - agree she seems to have great potential as a radio presenter📻
Rest of BIBs _ Totally agree - I was away last week and only got to listen to the programme this morning - really worth while listening to (before it goes off iplayer)
Jay sounds so happy and Gary too! 😊👍

OT - Jessica Martin (Big-Mrs Baskin) has been tweeting some marvellous drawings/pics for InkOctober2016 ✒️-very talented lady- apologies if this has already been posted - haven't caught up😌

And some sensible and informed comments on the Aliona Rant thread too.

Well, what controversy will today bring?

And, perhaps more optimistically, how many new photos of Jay with the short curls and no beard?

BTW
Brendan's illness was on the front page of several newspapers today. A sign of how big the show is.

I'll be watching out for Len, given his track record this series, he'll most certainly hit again.

ETA Jay's new photo is sublime.

I think it will involve a poll re Danny's rumba v Jay's rumba

Thinking about Jay looking young without the beard and with the lovely curls. What about his copious amounts of tatts? Someone is going to have a Big ( see what I did there ) job covering them up for every performance with industrial strength make-up. Unless they write it into the story that big Josh goes out and gets a shed load of tatts!!! .

I was wondering if that was an old picture taken when he was younger - so he is looking good for being Josh!

Jay did have some performance issues at times on Strictly, but at others, no problem at all. This role in Big is a great opportunity to bring out his performance side playing a part he loves.
I have BIG hopes for him!

Isn't there an initial seen where a startled Josh examines his new body in the mirror? (my memory is foggy). Those would have been pretty darned quick tatts!

And honestly, if it hadn't been for his title on his pic, I would have thought it was him several years ago.

J seemed to have far more performance issues on TV than he does live - he is relaxed more by the fact that if it goes a bit wrong, he can get it right the next day, whereas in the TV competition you get just the one chance.

So do I. He's doing what he's trained to do, is absolutely loving it and that will make it all the more magical to watch.. Strictly's a different entity altogether, but he still smashed it.

BIB
Plus - Jay's a very quick thinker, so I think if he did lose a line, he 'has' the character so much in his head (and himself) that he could ad-lib and still be in character.

Laurence Olivier allegedly once did an entire act in blank Shakespearean prose, and the other actors followed his lead.

I don't know why people are concerning themselves with the odd dropped stitch, it happens all the time and is just part of the fun of live theatre.

Please God no!

If there really has to be a "who rumba-ed it best" poll, let it be between this evening's two rumbas.

There has been so much bellyaching about Jay being dragged into everything- mostly by the very people who are dragging Jay into everything!

.....and the audience probably wouldn't know that anything was amiss - unless they had a copy of the script in front of them.

Exactly! And it can make for much fun amongst the cast. People will ge going to watch the show to be entertained, and royally entertained they will be.

In a back-handed way it is probably a compliment to Jay that his dances are the ones the contestants are being compared to.🤔
I wish they would stop and just let this years contestants compete against each other - there is a lot of talent this year so comparisons within 2016 should be sufficient to create enough headlines and publicity for the show.
Jay has 'moved on' to BIGger and better things ✨🎹🎼🎤🎶🎭 It is time Strictly did likewise, instead of resorting to X Factor style tactics🙄 for cheap tabloid headlines

Playing catch up here so sorry if behind times

But sheesh talk about accident prone celebs and pros.

Poor Brendan ill. ( and stoopid Channel News reporting an obit) At least Brendan found it amusing.
Tameka--knee
Anastacia must still have her injury
Ore I believe has a strain I seem to have heard
Greg and his arms

Laura is not dancing tonight as she has an ankle injury. They have a bye.

Blimmin heck. They'll be asking for danger money next😂

We were just saying we thought Laura might be bottom two tonight.

So pleased that J isn't part of this year's show - apart from being apostrophised, of course.

ETA I see the nasty nocturnal post has been removed, which now makes my early morning comment a little perplexing!

And some of the comments attached to this tweet vary widely.
Of course we don't know the medical extent of the injury and can't therefore make comparisons between pulled muscles, strapped knees or torn scars.
But apparently some can---- over the waves of social media. Who knew

Cue five new threads about the veracity of the injury and the bye rules!

...and J danced lots with knee strapping and told no-one...

Just waiting for some more photos of Jay's latest look now.

Six years today since TW first album.
Jayne Collins and Tom have tweeted about it.

Some one called Jediarty on Twitter said her son met Jay at his (presumably son's) dance lesson today. No photo though.
