Still catching up here.
This has probably been posted already, but just in case.
I've given up catching up!

Still need to read from page 477 to page 496,

Oh dear, so many goings on, maybe someone's put a hex on TPTB!
It will probably all be blamed on that weird cult of Jaliona obsessives!

And some of the comments attached to this tweet vary widely.
Of course we don't know the medical extent of the injury and can't therefore make comparisons between pulled muscles, strapped knees or torn scars.
But apparently some can---- over the waves of social media. Who knew
Good grief - I thought some of the DS-ers were like a dog with a bone but there's some on that tweet who really take the (dog!) biscuit. 'The rules stink.' 'Shouldn't get a bye, as it gives them an advantage.' etc etc. One poor fellow is desperately trying to stem the tide by telling people that this 'bye' rule has been in place since (at least) 2013, but he's just being ignored/shouted over.

Playing catch up here so sorry if behind times

But sheesh talk about accident prone celebs and pros.

Poor Brendan ill. ( and stoopid Channel News reporting an obit) At least Brendan found it amusing.
Tameka--knee
Anastacia must still have her injury
Ore I believe has a strain I seem to have heard
Greg and his arms

Laura is not dancing tonight as she has an ankle injury. They have a bye.

Blimmin heck. They'll be asking for danger money next😂
Blimey - it's getting as bad as The Jump. Didn'r know about Laura but had seen that Katya is not the only one with the lurgy. Neil, Janette, Aljaz & Anton have all been struggling as well!!

Laurence Olivier allegedly once did an entire act in blank Shakespearean prose, and the other actors followed his lead.

I don't know why people are concerning themselves with the odd dropped stitch, it happens all the time and is just part of the fun of live theatre.
We're not at all - only about confidence. I have seen actors remarkably quick on their feet (and others not quite so quick). If you blank, I really think the trick is not to try to remember, but just work from your general knowledge of what's supposed to be going on until you can pick it up again. Like dance - don't stop. It's not as though your doing Shakespeare or Wilde or anything where some of the audience are going to know every single line.

ETA: And it wouldn't surprise me at all about Olivier if that were the truth. He wouldn't have done the entire thing blank, because I'm sure he would have some lines on auto-pilot, but he had huge amounts of stage experience and of course was an incredible actor with a real feel for things. I've seen interviews with Sir John Gielgud talking about blanking. All actors, including the very best, have done it at some time or other (well, there are probably exceptions but must be the vast majority). With Shakespeare, the audience will notice, but they might actually enjoy it even more if an actor has the presence of mind to deal with it well. The rest of the cast would have to be on their toes as well and I can imagine the whole thing being very interesting and fresh! There's always that added thrill to lives performance.

Well, another kind of the strictly curse.

If the celebs behave too well, what else is the curse to do to get its fair share of attention?

Ah yes, that moment of blind terror before the curtain rises and you can't even remember your own name. But then suddenly you're in the spotlight and the audience is yours. Or when a fellow performer facing upstage whispers 'whose lines are you doing tonight?' just to throw you. Or getting stuck in a quick change. However many rehearsals you've gone through, the gremlins are always ready to spring mischief, but that's live theatre - it certainly keeps the adrenalin pumping, and I'm sure Jay will thrive on it.

At least it means that it has not yet got stale. There are productions which go on for months and months. I don't know how the actors do it - same lines, same storyline and emotions to produce, day in, day out. No variation.

And then you get evenings on which, for no reason at all, everybody is corpsing. Never seen one myself, so I don't know if I'd find it irritating or amusing.

No two audiences are ever the same, so that keeps you on your toes. Well, that and your fellow performers, who, in a long run, are well up for a bit of mischief - that's theatre!

Hi Ano
You can report them to the moderators.
You can block people so you can't see them but I think only the moderators can block people from posting.
I would just stay away. A lot of jealous people I would guess.

The problem with blocking is that it's not a complete cure. If someone quotes them in a reply, you can see the text of the original post.

So stay away - let them stew in their own poisons.

Act 1 📄

He's brave enough to catch his dream
Invited to play the lead
Such exciting times ahead tor Jay
And I know he will succeed

A star has fallen from above
And landed on the stage
To breathe life into his character
From the words upon the page

Ooh, looks like the show has started. Just have to hang on for about 20 mins or so to give myself sufficient FF leeway!

Just popping in and slightly off kilter given current discussions, but I just wanted to share my exciting news. I have somehow managed to convince the OH to let me go to Dublin on the 7th Jan to see Jay in Big! I used the Xmas present card and it worked beautifully.

It's all thanks to KLTKD really for telling me she was going. It sparked a very large pang of jealousy that made me start looking realistically about the possibility of going. I had convinced myself until then that it was impossible.

I can't wait to go and report back on everything that happens. 😊
So delighted you and KLTKD are coming to Dublin and I will finally get to meet ye and say Céad Míle Failté

Nothing memorable! Just one of a mottley crew of Music Hall artistes, whom the misguided paid money to see and sometimes we got paid too. If you got off the stage while they were still laughing or not throwing anything, it was a good night.

Just sat and watched the whole show and it just makes me appreciate Jay even more. He made all dances look so easy. Technique superb. Arms, feet beautiful. Nobody came close tonight. No tens!

Yes it was - happy days. There's nothing like an audience on its feet .....even if they are all walking out...
