I am certainly not a choreography expert but I think that you can recognise the spirit/style of different pros choreography. Obviously the steps are the same year on year but the different pros have a recognisable style.
I thought there was a little bit of Aliona there.

Don't think this has been posted, although slightly cross-eyed this evening so could have missed it ..

There was, as there also was last week.

Day out at the races today, so got back too late for SCD. Reading the comments on here, and some bits and pieces on the MF (selected threads only), don't think I can be arrissed to watch any of it in retrospect.

More interested in the progress of BIG, to be honest, and so glad to see that Jay seems to be having a ball ....

Hope you had a good day. Not a vintage show to put it politely but worth a look at Ed Balls and Katya if you want a chuckle.

It's the first week I actually feel critical of Katya - too ambitious and unnecessary. She had some lovely choreography before then with nice lifts.

I felt nobody should have been top of the leaderboard!

Had a lovely day, thank you. Watched Danny's rumba - seemed to be an awful lot of arm flinging and bobbing up and down for a dance that I thought was supposed to be a continuous flow of movement. Also failed to achieve either tenderness or sexiness. Hey ho.

I don't know how much is down to Katya and how to the producers. I think Ed wants to show he is improving and trying to dance but then they are handicapped with rubbish music, a bloomin rucksack and stupid concept. I think she, with Ed, is probably over compensating a bit for all the obstacles in their way. But I do think that she, AJ and Oksana have not yet worked out how to make the best of their celebs, possibly due to lack of experience in an SCD type situation and possibly because they are more willing to take 'advice' from the producers and other choreographers.

I think I would have had the Judge top of the leader board. He dances throughout his body and feels the music. He needs to close his mouth a bit more though. I hope he gets the time to rehearse and opportunity to do something a bit more serious in future weeks (assuming he stays of course.)

I can't actually believe I am gonna say this but I agree with the few tweets I have read from one James Jordan re the various dances.
He also thinks there is over marking and dare one say favouritism. Shock horror

I also cannot believe some of Marian Keynes tweets. Very in your face to some people. Not that I'm an avid follower of hers so this may be the norm. I caught them in passing and won't be going there again.

ETA now read all of Jordans tweets and yes I agree with him on all of the celebs. What's all that about!!😞

Thanks for all the reviews everyone.

Really enjoyed Monkseal and the two comments below, especially Carl's review of the dances. I had not realised that it was the same samba music as Matt and Aliona?

Looking across Twitter, the DF, DS etc, there are a lot of people, not just us crazy obsessive Jaliona fans, who are finding this series a bit lacking and not believing the hype about some of the dances and couples. TPTB and judges string pulling has also been commented on a lot.

A couple of other comments from last night's show:

I thought Natalie looked really, really lovely. She and Greg at least look like they like each other.

I thought the interview with Giovanni was embarrassing. He looked so uncomfortable, sounded very unconvincing, stood there with his hands stuck in his pockets. As Hannah alluded to, he appears to have lost a few fans this year (Marion Keynes for example- and yes, she really is very too the point.)

Still wondering who on earth thought the ventriloquist was a good idea.

I think Tess has stopped saying 'Look, a standing ovation', presumably because everyone gets one and the audience are told to stand up?

Having said all that, X Factor is so much worse...

ETA, thanks Korky for the photo. Always a nice way to start the day.

BIB Is this me Hannah01 or there is a Hannah elsewhere on the thread. It confuses me sometimes cos I think "well I never said that!!"

Great pick up on all of your other points Jayfan. So it isn't just us thinking this is a strange series.

Yep, they are always like that She "takes agin" (her spelling) both celebs and pros and is very vocal about it. Although she has a thing about Pasha, she also "takes agin" his partners, last year she was very much Team Glita until they got knocked out and then wanted K&K to win, I don't think she ever got J. She seems to like jazz hands and more "in yer face" dancing usually but it can be random.

As with you I agree with James Jordan, a sentence I never thought I would write Although as Jayfan has said, from the comments I've seen on social media and the media, it seems pretty universal that the judges manipulations, over-marking and over-praising of a couple of the celebs seem to be more pronounced this year and not going down too well. I have a feeling it is going to back fire spectacularly if they are not careful and their chosen 2 will end up together in the bottom 2 if they are not careful, be interesting who they would choose to keep.

ETA - but isn't there only the one and only original Hannah, all others are just pale imitations of you

I sometimes see the name "hannah" on the MF, then realise it isn't you because it doesn't have the "01".

While some people seem to have gone off Giovanni, I am actually preferring his more professional approach this year. I couldn't be doing with all of the icky showmance rubbish last year.

Seem to have messed up the quoting bit above, but don't want to alter it any more in case I mess it up still further.

Hope you can get the message anyway.

Oh the good old Matt and Aliona samba that is my favourite samba male or female of all time!! Blackpool went absolutely mad at the end of the routine it was a proper samba. They both looked quite stunning too so....

Agree Hannah - while not a fan of James - his tweets on the show are pretty much 'on point' I believe and he is right - scoring was very suspect last night.

Don't usually read James, but might wander over there and have a look. Agree about last night's scoring.

I've just come back from a drive to Plymouth and walk on the Hoe seafront. The air was ........bracing ........ to say the least! I did spot just the one person wearing shorts and a beanie, about 5 minutes from Theatre, but he was too far away to check out, and my dog was walking too slowly for me to catch up.

I doubt if it was J though. The walk looked wrong.

* Information for anyone seeing BIG on 5th November *

This could affect anyone who is coming to Plymouth by car.

On my little jaunt I saw quite a few notices on roads around and leading up to the Hoe that they would be closed to traffic from 4 pm to 9 pm on Bonfire Night. I know some people are staying in the general area as it's only about 5 minutes from the Theatre. It's likely to be really busy in Plymouth on that day

BIB 1. Next time you get a dog make sure it's a greyhound, not a chihuahua.

You mean that the guy in front wasn't walking like a caveman.

I know about the firework display, which is why I'm staying at the Travelodge next to the theatre. But as I don't know Plymouth and you're obviously fairly familiar with it, how likely is it that the road between the station and the theatre will be closed after 4pm as I will have to get a taxi?
