The judges by and large were actually fairly supportive of Jaliona (show dance apart), the other pros and contestants really were all together and supportive of each other. Claudia left no-one in any doubt of her feelings! Gleb & Aljaz - Giovanni, Guido - not a dry eye in the house

If I were lucky enough to be at a KD performance - I think I'd like to see the rumba and the jive, as being fairly contained dances and not ending up in the orchestra pit as someone said. Then, two new ones?

Whiffle - don't know why you think my pie chart was better than yours, but Excel is so easy to work with!

should I add - other spreadsheets are available ”

Great review Isih - clipped only for space purposes and so I could ask....

Guido??

Isn't that what they called the red head stage manager? That's who I meant, anyway. He gave Jay such a huge hug right at the end

Yep I would prefer him to sing with his accent and not adopt the 'twang'. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.”

Yes ahouch Jay did say on the radio that he would try and do his own version of Josh so maybe he will use his own accent ,could be wrong though.

Wasn't Guido one of the backtage people on ITT? I seem to remember some fooling around at Halloween when a big hairy hand made Jay jump?

He'll manage an accent just fine - he had Podray off to a tee!

I hope they don't bother with the accents in BIG. Don't really see the need.

Has anyone thought of doing a list of everyone's suggestions for their 4 dances.

For example

Paso then the number of people = 12
waltz = 24
Etc etc

I'm not volunteering of course because I know there are peeps out there that love their pivot tables etc😊 you know who you are.

If I am late to the party and some one is doing it I will be hushed.”

What have I let myself in for what with you lot basically each suggesting every dance from J & A

I have therefore decided some rules are needed to ensure fair play

1.Suggestions will only be accepted from after Hannahs' post no. 1229 on page 50

2.Closing date is 11.59 p.m. 30/06/2016

3.You can suggest any existing dance or any new dance you would like to see

4.Each poster can suggest up to 4 dances ( this may or may not be strictly adhered to – see point 5)

5.Bribery will not be ignored

My 4 dances would be

•Argentine Tango
•Foxtrot
•Charleston
•New Contemporary Dance

Have fun choosing!

If they stick to the show book, it's largely set in F O Schwartz in NYC. I agree it can be annoying when actors don't have a good ear, like Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Of course, they could go for London and Hamleys....

My particular bugbear is tv ads where English actors attempt to sound French, that really grates.

Yes, I know the story reasonably well. I just don't think the accents are essential - they won't add anything to the tale and the department store could be anywhere, really.

Afternoon everyone.

Very quick post. Great reviews by Isih, ahouch, Agrion, Drizzle1 & fatskia. So many spot-on observations and points of view. I really enjoyed all of them.
Whiffle_9 : Can you count my preferences as Tango, Salsa and Waltz. Thank you.

Finally, ToastedToad : I am still trying to get up to date with the forum and I have just seen "Jay's Strictly Journey". It is simply fabulous!

I have seen a lot of discussion about Jay's hair at the beginning of Strictly. I am going to whisper it , but I loved his hair long. I suppose it is because when I was growing up, almost all the men wore their hair long. Still have a soft spot for a man with long hair. When I first saw him on the Radio Times interview, I thought he looked like a renaissance angel.

I am off now to listen to Jay's interview.

Take care, all.

Very restrained Mo - only 3 choices go on have another

Enjoyed all the reviews - well done Drizzle on your first (of many hopefully)

Loved the radio interview with J, like many on here could listen to him all day

not new but can't Argentine Tango be done in small spaces? I am assuming that the stages of these theatres are not all that big, as you can gather

Yes, Aliona was great for Jay, but he was great for her too. He really softened her edges and, I think, made her fall in love with dancing all over again. As I've said before, it's a partnership too good to lose.

ETA Just listened to the interview - there's one happy man! Confident, funny and in a great place by the sound of it. And not in a relationship. Stamped. Official. He's standing very firmly on his own two talented feet ..... And Guinness is vegetarian, so all's well in BirdWorld!”

BIB So in agreement. It would be so good to see the partnership continue with theatre tours a la Last Tango for example.
Now please don't shoot me down here but it would be nice to see them as guests on the SCD tour. And a Jaliona Tour. Too much to ask for??😊
I have a very nice pic of Ali, Craig and Jay together on tour. They looked so happy. So they must have got on with each other. I will need tech support from DD perhaps cos it won't attach.

I haven't managed to listen to the radio interview yet.

Just starting to collate your suggestions. The Passo is a given as J & A have already chosen it so no need to include it in your choices. Beth, Lindy & Lola as you also opted for this you can chose another dance if you would like

Lola If possible can you let me know what style you would like the new dances to be

Sorry Ahouch you need to chose between the Tangos

Isih as with Lola please advise which new styles you would like to see

Hope you don't think I'm taking this too seriously but my inner geek/Statto has been reawakened

ETA And wouldn't it be lovely if our voted for faves were chosen!

Hello all, and lovely to find that J has given a radio interview and folks put it on here. My thanks to them.

I've just listened to it (priorities all present and correct) and thought J sounds very happy - indeed giggly - and very excited about his upcoming Big. No, I haven't omitted a noun there.

BIB 1 that's me 😂

BIB 2 jive and rumba would be contained enough for stage work but I hope we get different ones. Salsa also a compact dance but as someone up thread said - hard on the back.
Argentine Tango ----yes please. Done to great effect by Vincent & Flavia in theatres obviously.
So good to go.

ETA Whiffle non of these are my picks. Will put my list together soon.
Quite a few had already picked dances pre my post. If they repost great. If not I'll try to delve back and find them.

I have a Tardis doncha know

I'm not quite sure what you mean - everybody from everywhere has some kind of an accent, is it just the NY accent you don't like? If a story's set in NYC, it does make sense for the actors to speak with an NYC or other American accent, unless their part states they're from somewhere else - Germany, or Ireland for instance.
