Morning all. Another sunny day in Edinburgh.

KD was great last night, a good time was had by all. Will post later with a review of trip so far.

Hope everyone is well.

Feeling a little sad that this is Jay and Aliona's last day of dancing together for the foreseeable future. They both have wonderful things coming in their lives but it feels as if one special bit of magic is "going on indefinite hiatus"

I owe them thanks. They popped up in Strictly at just the right time for me, when there were sad things going on in real life, and they provided that little bit of joy and beauty that helps you through the darker times. They brought to me a much greater appreciation of dance in general, too.

Looking forward to continuing to follow lovely Jay in all that he is doing, now - we need people like him, a little beacon of sweet, thoughtful humility in a sea of ego and arrogance.

Hope we get to hear a little about Aliona, too, as the family grows - may she and Vin have a passle of little 'uns and a sunny future in Florida!

Morning all. On the train on the way to London to see Last Tango. Sun is shining. Looks like it's going to be a lovely but cold day. Just read the above Cat and wanted to say a big " hear hear " Feeling a little sad for the end ( hopefully temporary ) of a beautiful partnership, but Jay has so much to look forward to

Yes, it's sad that their dancing partnership is on hold for a while, but I'm sure they'll stay in close touch and it won't be that long before they're hatching plans to dance again.

What a year it's been for both of them! The planets were certainly in alignment when these two people found themselves together with a common purpose, they've brought out the very best in each other and given many of us an enormous boost in challenging times as we joined their rollercoaster ride to the Glitterball and beyond.

Such exciting things ahead for both of them, so here's wishing them well for the next chapter of their story, and an even more fervent wish to see them dance together again.

Hear, hear from me too.

Cato - you wrote exactly what was I thinking - albeit much better than I could!

Dfer- Enjoy Last Tango. I loved it and shed a tear at the end!

Morning All,

Just popping in to share my disappointment. I was out for dinner with the OH last night. But I had a quick look at my messages once he fell asleep in front of the tv. KLTKD sent me a message alerting me to the photo above., so I hastily scoured my twitter feed to find it. I then replied to her with: 'OMG Hot McHot, McHotty Hot Hot!😍'. It was the wine you know.
So off I go to bed hoping that I may experience a dream whereby Mr McGuiness, in braces, VW's himself towards me, kneels and rests his head on my (much larger than Ali's pregnant) belly. Yes a reenactment of the VW would be perfect. *sigh*
Off I drift and I do dream of Jay, just not quite how I'd imagined it. It was something more akin to a nightmare where my other half somehow sees the message I sent KLTKD. Then images of Jay appear on every screen in the house exposing the full extant of my fandom. I try to close the pages, switch off the tv, but still more images of Jaybird appear on the screen in ghostlike transparent form.🙀 I feel panic. I wake up.

What a let down....

Very funny!

Could be worse though - what if you had a thought bubble floating above your head like a little cloud?

Well nearly in Edinburgh.

Guy on train in a kilt.
Bagpipes playing on someone's phone.
(I kid you not.)

Hope to meet up with the other Jalionistas before the matinee.

Will report back later.

Have a good day all.

ETA Lola- loved your train post! 😀

Can only add ditto to that BB

BIBI think many of us do, and for many reasons.
I've had so many laughs, met quite a few Jalionistas, and now know that even though I have mobility problems that I can still do things that I thought were would be impossible. (Though that knowledge comes from the Jalionistas themselves who kept saying ' Go for it'. ) So thank you to all members - both past, present and, hopefully, continuing - of this thread.

News update: jayfan has arrived in Edinburgh and was last heard of looking for a loo.
Jelly_L has been for a walk and reports that it's cold

De lurking to say, how I miss the SCD tour days, I was reading back my Squashy Sofa land adventures yesterday to cheer myself up ...missing KD, in horrific pain and getting a lot of hassle from where I keep Ruari, having to move him to my friends 55 miles away while I'm incapacitated, to top it all I heard from my work 40 redundancies are impending.

I miss the feeling of support we had then. I was very hurt recent,ly that there was little response when I asked if anyone wanted my KD tickets for free, thank you to those who did pm and respond.
Anyway guess I'm crying for the moon (or most people have me on user ignore, I know there are plenty of influential members who don't like me for whatever reason).

Such is life.

Hi Janet, sorry to hear of your troubles - they always come in packs, don't they? Concentrate on getting better and getting to Dublin for BIG in January. You'll have a blast and it will be the tonic you need.

Hey JnB, sorry that you are still in so much pain and that you feel not welcome here anymore.

I would have gladly taken you up on your offer, but I'm nowhere near Edinburgh or able to travel there. Would have loved to see it tonight.

Fingers crossed that things (pain, Ruari, job) will get better soon.

No - he plays another part in BIG. Gregor Stewart is Jay's understudy.

So sorry to hear about everything you are going through at the moment Janet. Great times were had reading about adventures in Squashy sofa land! I for one miss all of your varied contributions to this thread, but continue to look out for you on Twitter.

The thread has been a wonderful place to be to distract from real life troubles, as Cato wrote earlier. From first discovering Jay and following his progress on Strictly with Aliona, we have shared some great times here.

Now that Aliona has a new family life in Florida, I don't expect there will be much news from her to talk about. I do hope that people continue to discuss Jay's new ventures though. I look forward to finding out what he does next.

Spree, Irwin Sparkes plays Paul in Big. Gregor Stewart is Jay's understudy.

Edit: I see your question has already been answered by Cato.

Well done Aliona!
It's definitely the Theatre Royal, just along from the theatre.

Have fun everyone who's there today. Big hugs to everyone who's not - especially jnb who really should have been. We're all there in spirit.

Several of us have expressed similar sentiments today so I'm replying to many people here to agree that Jay has eased many a trouble, though for myself I don't believe in bringing personal/private miseries to the thread.

I will be continuing to follow Jay and his life all I can here and I hope all current posters (plus any lurking newbies) will be along for the ride. I think he's an exceptional man in many ways and I'm so pleased he's 'in the world'. He's truly one of life's enhancers.
