' I have never felt like this before about someone on Strictly (or since Kara and Artem).
And so on.
It really is very striking what an impact Jay and Aliona had on us all and how very special and unique the last series was.
We discussed yesterday how for many of us it happened at just the right time because of difficult things going in on in our personal lives. And I know that was a big part of it for me.
But the combination of Jay's oh so beautiful, graceful but very masculine dancing, Aliona's gorgeous choreography and superb dancing, their touching and genuine friendship, their individuality and determination to do things differently, Jay's captivating personality (and for me, rather lovely looks), all combined to make last year a really unique experience.
This might sound ridiculous but I would go so far as to say that it has been life changing and life enhancing for many of us. I have certainly done things I could not have imagined this time last year.
It was also very clear from various conversations last night that this thread means an awful lot to a lot of people.
There was genuine sadness at some of our disagreements and departures.
Jnb - you and Becks are famous! Lots of people missed you yesterday.
I felt a little bit famous too as our Wetherspoons experience was much commented on.
Lots of people said how much they loved the Jaybus!
I really hope that we can keep this lovely thread going, with the wit, good humour and kindness it has shown for the vast majority of the time I have been reading it.
And finally, a massive thank you to Jay and Aliona for inspiring this thread (and Fatskia for starting it) through which I have had the good fortune to meet virtually or in person the most lovely people over the last 12 or so months.
Anyway, having hogged the thread for several pages, I will sign off for a bit now and admire the view from the train. I may even have a little snooze.
PS Thank you all for your comments on my reports.”

Sorry not sure how to crop to save space

Just want to say agree with all that Jayfan has written here. Every word.
Jayfan, do you remember me (+ daughter) and the fun we had in Wimbledon?
A time I will never forget, seeing J&A before the show, then seeing them dance live for the first time, then round to the stage door. And a big plus was meeting fellow Jalionistas.
Such a special partnership, so happy to be part of the whole shebang
