Kmelly - yes of course I remember you and your daughter. In fact last night, we were trying to remember people's real names and DS names. We were trying to remember your real name as we know that neither your DS name or Twitter name are your real name! I wonder if we got it right?

I kept calling people different things yesterday, mixing up DS and real names in a very inconsistent way! Luckily Nelliek answers to both!

Jelly L and I were also reminiscing about Nottingham (and Manchester) and meeting up with Ellie Bee, Karin and Dancingfosse. (((Hugs to you all)))

As we 'speak', Arnostae is trying to upload the vids I took yesterday. I do so hope that I recorded what I meant to!

Teaser - A new job is identified for someone (Korky get ready) in the Q&A session.....”

I'm so ready, extremely willing and very able! I do feel in need of another Jayjob now that Keep Dancing Dresser has ended. I would hate to be thought slacking!

I'm very much in tune with Jayfan's views of this week's Strictly

Jotted these few thoughts earlier in the day:

Spoiler
It was all a bit lacklustre, wasn’t it? The dancing was better last week than this. The camerawork at Blackpool was dire. Really didn’t float my boat at all.

Cloudier: Jolly good one-handed cartwheel.

Joore: Spot the VW. Nice demonstration of a bit of skipping and turning tiny circles on your tiptoes.

Ringah Ding Ding Dannimac: Yay ....................... not .. More musical theatre. Yeah, he did it pretty well but then he darned well should – he’s been dancing that sort of thing for years.

Balls: Not as much fun as last week but he does try to master the technique. I think. And it had content. And he was in time.

Greg ‘n’ Nat: Oh, yes, it was a quickstep, wasn’t it? Sort of think he might be quickstepping backwards into oblivion

The Judge: Yuk. No good moving your hips if it’s not really in time with anything. I thought it was awful. Sorry.

TTF and Mumsy: Kevin was good. Loueeze looked as if she was acting out a fairy story at a toddlers’ tea party.

What I found amusing was the way Darcey pointed out that there were errors in Ore's neck position and then still thought it was ok to give it a 10...

Did anyone else think that when Joore were doing that "epic fleckerl" it really went on for soooo long because Ore had forgotten the next bit he was supposed to dance and Jwanne was whispering through gritted teeth "just keep going round and round you idiot"

He remains for me the most engaging and moving Strictly dancer ever, facial expressions or no facial expressions. I didn't know about DS in Alesha's year but have picked up she wasn't popular. I enjoyed her a lot as I found she lit up and became radiant when she danced and it seemed to touch something very profound in her, whatever she was like off the floor. I felt the same with Jay but even more so. It's very moving to watch.”

Yes, Yes agree totally, Jay has charisma.....

If they had only started off the evening by giving Cloudier appropriate scores (7s and 8s) the whole thing needn't have been so ridiculous.

Alesha wasn't popular as a judge but I think she was a huge fave in her series, even on here. Gethin and Matt were popular too but it was Matt who had the most detractors.

Ahhhh, I wasn't sure as a late joiner. I loved her, I have to say. She exuded joy when dancing and the partnership with Matt seemed sincere and sweet. I know she was pretty good from the off but like Jay, I felt she went on a very profound journey of the soul through the programme. That's what this year's contenders lack for me. Like those posters who say Jaliona came at the right time for them to invest, I think some of the celebs do the programme at the right time for their hearts as well. Luck, maybe, and unfakeable.

Yeah she needed Strictly in her life at that time I think and there was huge goodwill for her. It was a very similar journey to Jay- a fresh start and a new direction.

I loved her! Her and Jay are my faves. I love Harry too but he didn't feel like he needed it like Alesha and Jay.

Very good point, very beautifully put, Sabbatical.
It was obviously the right time for Jay and Aliona too.

We don't really need to use spoilers now, do we? Result's official now.

OT: someone on the NAT drew it to my attention - Freddie. 25 years.

Been busy this week end so only just watched strictly with O/H, who says judging tonight was a load of b*ll*cks.

Far too much excitement this weekend for me.

Now I’ve recovered from my visit to our capital and Andy Murray’s fantastic success I thought I’d write a little about my experience in Edinburgh and KD on Friday night.

The hotel certainly pushed the boat out as they’d messed up our booking, but thankfully I noticed it before our arrival. Beautiful piece of chocolate cake, free drinks at the bar or room service etc. Mind you I would have expected nothing less being a hotelier in another life and I’m tempted to email them and ask why we didn’t get George Clooney’s bed.

Firstly I must thank Speedy for looking after me. I’m sure she realised I was dizzy with excitement but she was extremely tactful. Coming from a 60s time warp of a small town was quite overwhelming but so enjoyable. (I seldom visit Edinburgh these days as parking is a nightmare and it’s always too busy. Perth is much more sedate. )

Our visit started by my other half and myself having to clean cold milk off our clothes, the suitcase and the boot of the car. Don’t ask... suffice it say the inclusion of cold milk on our trip was unknown to me until I opened the suitcase in the room. This event delayed us and we were unable to join the ladies for a meal before the theatre.

However, we arrived in fine time for the show. I went to the ladies and was mumbling to myself at the dryer wondering how it worked when I turned to the person beside me to make a comment. Speedy! She really must think I’m half round the bend or even well round it.

Front row of the circle we had and had a great view of the stage. We were sitting with Speedy and Deise Days was a few seats along. The show was fine but I was there only to see Jay and Aliona and I did. Three times! He was just as I expected, a young man who turns into a divine dancer once the music starts. Breathtaking.

According to my other half, when he visited the gents at the interval, the chat was about the disgruntled wives who were upset because Jay and Aliona didn’t dance more. Obviously they were unaware of Aliona’s pregnancy and felt a bit ‘stung’ as the billing prominently featured their photo. The men, including mine, seemed quite happy with the show it seems. Pity the PR was so misleading for it though because I think well over half of the audience were there just to see Jay and Aliona. Oh! At the interval I asked the couple sitting between Deise Days and ourselves if they would mind moving along so she could sit with us. They kindly agreed which was great.

When the show ended we decided to go back to the hotel to find something to eat as my OH was starving. If I’d been alone I would have gone to the pub with the others. Sorry I didn’t manage to say hello to everyone.

Initially I thought I would go to the stage door at the end, but after all the steps in the hotel and those in the theatre my hip was bothering me, - that’ll teach me for trying to be posh wearing heeled boots - so I didn’t think the steep brae would help.

Speedy joined us at breakfast and we briefly met JellyL as we were leaving. We needed to do some shopping in Perth enroute home and I was anxious to get back in time for Andy Murray’s match.

The drive home in the sunshine was the perfect end to a perfect evening out and the great pleasure of meeting such delightful people who share my affection for Jay’s extraordinary dancing talent.

Hope everyone who travelled home on Sunday arrived safe and sound and most of all happy. x
