Completely OT, but talking of ropes, I have a friend who started to learn bell ringing.
He pulled the rope when he should, but forgot to let go, and went up with it. the funny part was no one missed him, Apparantly he was up there for a while.still laugh when I think about it now.

Presumably his wife eventually missed him when it was the day to put the dustbins out...

Thanks jnb.

1st link worked fine - the second one didn't so I'll have to look at it later. I don't know if it's included in part 2 but I noticed this version of 'All Time Low' at Chester Rocks too:

Really like the way Jay sings his part in it.😍

Try the second one in a Puffin or Google Chrome browser
Or, ensure you're using the Desktop and not Mobile site (so if you have the YouTube app, you'll need to delete it as that is a mobile app and not desktop.

Hope that makes sense
Or as a last resort try this

Quick multi-subject post ....

From a Lauren Chavez instastory (Eek. Stalking again ) posted a few hours ago, it looks as if Jay's either back or on his way

Thanks to everyone for links - always a tonic to catch up with a bit of Jayfun, old or new, after a teeth-clenchingly irritating day at work

Suits: swoooooon ..

Danny: Yes, yes, very good. Leaves me colder than that pea that's been lurking in the bottom of the freezer for the last 15 years

Why were some people so vehemently anti-Jay? Simples. Because there were so many who were vehemently pro .....

Just spent a pleasant half an hour down the TW rabbit hole followed by the group dance posted by Cato. Do think he looks very handsome in that suit.

Night all

I did enjoy that dance - all the celebrities and all the pros plus even more dancers still
It worked really well.

Hope work is better for you tomorrow.

I like Claudia and AJ and really hope they do well, but I quite like all the remaining couples and don't really mind who wins - a relief from last year when I hung onto the spoiler thread

From a career point of view don't think a celebrity actually has to win. If they come across as hard-working, pleasant and a good team player, once any celebrity has shown they're popular enough to get to Blackpool they've 'won' in a way. (Though I would have been v upset not to see all of J and Aliona's dances )
Am sure I've read J was asked about Big quite early on?? Though of course winning made him more of a 'name' for the future.

Looking at this year, think Greg will continue to do well on TV if he wants to.
Think Claudia has learned a lot and will be comfortable in the media in future.
Ore is already benefitting from more TV presenting work.
Can see Danny doing more in the theatre or having more acting work
Not sure what Louise wants to do or if Judge Rinder wants to do more - but they're much more well known now, so the option is there for them.

Have read some odd suggestions for Ed Balls' future - some tabloids just think a series of reality shows??
Can't see why he'd need to do that.
He's an fellow of Harvard University and worked for the Financial Times and in universities before going into politics, so suspect he could have a job on TV or in newspapers if he wanted?

Morning, I saw Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them last night - it's really good, Colin Farrell, I know he's only 4ft 3in (well, really short) but is it too early in the morning to say yum

Anyways, it's frrreeezzzing here this morning so to warm myself up before I venture out into the cold I have extended the remit - Jay in a suit with bowtie

Just watching Matthew Bourne talking about The Red Shoes, and his dance company in general, and the more I see the more I'm convinced how well J would suit his ethos of dance theatre. He stressed he doesn't run a traditional ballet company and was so interesting saying he often sits amongst the audience to feel what they're 'getting' - and is 'happiest when the hankies come out at the end'. Sound familiar?

Certainly the snippets of choreography I saw this morning would suit J right down to the ground. One day, maybe.....

Fred - maybe Ed would find the world of entertainment an enjoyable counterpoint to politics and the press? He strikes me as something of a showman, maybe this is the chance to strut his stuff in a more lighthearted milieu.

Approximately 24 hours later: A nice chappy (in fact two, as the first one hadn't brought his extensible ladder) has been to mend the phone line. I find I am a mere 80 pages behind hand.

AT TIME OF WRITING, still have no internet access apart from neighbours/cousins/very slow and epensive phone link. I realise there have been other suggestions and applications later which I haven't listed, sorry about that;
SO - are people still interested enough for me to catch up (always assuming my IP extracts their digit and get the line fixed) ? I will be happy to do so in the long winter nights. Also, does anyone want the full list to be reposted (11 posts, I think, at present, including those below). I have got a little lost on the words list, so if people want I think the best thing would be to repost the lot then you can add/amend as appropriate.

NOTE: Further apologies for the delays in this and other job requests. I have processed even the temporary positions as it is possible similar posts may crop up in the future and they can thus be re-assigned with the minimum of angst
Isih << ...Just to add, the requests for new jobs (jaynav etc) have been taken on board but possibly not to be processed for a bit - off to the UK to play with my grandchildren for a couple of weeks (excited excited). >>

CHAUFFEUSE
"Isih <<A few words of caution here. A chauffeuse is a low armless chair used for sitting next to the fire in order to keep warm. Although I suppose if we count Jay as the equivalent of the fire, this would in fact be an entirely suitable definition
There is a further definition used by low people of my acquaintance but we will cast a veil over that>>"
KorkyTheCat << Before you go to have fun, if we don't have a Jayjob of Chauffeuse may I apply? He would arrive punctually at the correct destination and I could make him very comfortable reclining on the back seat... >>
CatO9Tales << Oh, Korky. I'm so sorry - you can't possibly chauffeuse and keep him comfortable at the same time (you'll get nicked ..). You just carry on driving and let me do the rest ... >>
KorkyTheCat << I will attempt to re-phrase... I will ensure that he has a very pleasant ride stretched out on the well-sprung back seat. >>
CatO9Tales << Oh! At last! My calling in life ... boing .. (I'm so glad you didn't say well-padded) >>
KorkyTheCat << And plentiful nibbles will be provided along the way... >>
hannah 01. << ...would you drive very far though Korky😄 >>
KorkyTheCat << Oh yes, although there would be many comfort breaks... >>
Isih << Can I just point out that whichever of you nabs the back seat needs to be well equipped with cardies? We do have a keeper of the cardi for the Jaybus but I don't have the file to hand so can't confirm who at the moment >> EDITED LATER - sammi42 is the incumbent
CatO9Tales << I have a plentiful supply of cardies to hand, including a lovely soft cashmere one that I shrank in the wash. It will be excellent for cushioning those springs ... >>
APPOINTED: KorkyTheCat ( CHAUFFEUR), CatO9Tales (CHAUFFEUSE)

JAYKITE WRANGLER
Following a rather unseemly discussion concerning the likelihood of items of ladies' unmentionables finding their way mysteriously onto the stage at Plymouth:
BionicBard << Bridget mark five here. J was flying kites on The Hoe this week. I'm sure I'll get them back eventually..... >>
RaffertyCat << Really kind of you to provide Jay with his kite. You must have known that he wouldn't have thought to bring his own. Selfless, that's you......selfless........ Don't think we've got a Jaykite Wrangler, have we? Sounds like a job for you, BB. >>
APPOINTED: BionicBard

HALLOWE'EN COSTUME AND MAKE-UP APPLIER
KorkyTheCat << Application for Jayjob I should like to apply for the Jayjob of Hallowe'en Costume and Make-Up Applier. J and I would need to get our heads together ( 💏 💖 ) over the choice of outfit and greasepaint. Oooh yes! >>
hannah 01. << Now can this be classed as a permanent job or just a couple of hours work . Great thought must be put into this by Isih I would say😂 >>
KorkyTheCat << It will be an annual job but will of course necessitate frequent experimentation throughout the year... I think it also ought to include reassuring hand-holding in case he gets the jitters. >>
Isih << dancingfosse is designated handholder and nerve steader, I would remind you.>>
APPOINTED: KorkyTheCat (Hallowe'en only)

TATT MANAGER
speedtrap <<The tatts are mine as official Tatt Manager.>>
isih <<Does that include the plastic glitter ball?>>
dancingfosse <<I have 4 tattoos myself. Me and Jay are so perfect for each other>>
isih <<Despite recent indisposition, speedtrap has valiantly agreed to keep hold of this post>>
TATTOO DISGUISER
Toasted Toad << Have we already handed out the job of covering up his tats for BIG? >>
KorkyTheCat << Don't think so… *reaches for another application form* >>
CatO9Tales << I'm sure he has too many for one person to handle .. .. and I do like to dabble with a paintbrush ....... >>
KorkyTheCat << Thanks for your concern but I'm quite sure I can competently handle anything that comes up. Are you formally applying for the Jayjob of Tattoo Disguiser? >>
Toasted Toad << Oi. I was in there first! >>
KorkyTheCat << Many can apply - with their credentials - and Isi chooses. >>
Isih << TATT MANAGERS are speedy and dancingfosse. I assume they would wish to continue in their role, but if not it can be reassigned. Please notify in the usual manner
APPOINTED: speedtrap. Assistant: dancingfosse. PENDING Toasted Toad, assisted by CatO9Tales and KorkyTheCat (how's that for passing the buck? I could be a politician)

MATURE WOMAN ADVISOR
isih << This needs some thought, largely because I can't work out whether we are looking at a job for a mature woman (me me me!) to advise Jay on what to do (on second thoughts, not me, I'm not a good example-setter at all) OR a job for Jay which entails his advising mature women what to do? Good job he's a polite, kindly soul if the latter. >>
BionicBard << Is there a vacancy for a mature woman adviser for J? Along with possibly a jobshare with an adviser on mature women? Just a thought.... >>
KorkyTheCat << You could apply... >>
BionicBard << ...but I think actions may in some scenarios speak louder than words. 😚 >>
hannah 01. << Wow. Isih is gonna have some sorting out to do with all these new Jayjob applications. And such different types of jobs too >>
APPOINTED: According to definition, BionicBard, James McGuiness

JAYNAV
Subsequent to post from Sir indicating his sense of organisation and direction were operating at usual levels
ahouch << https://twitter.com/jaymcguiness/sta...64146688065536 >>
Whiffle_09 << Surely there must be a Jayjob for this . Hmmm maybe Navijaytor - someone whose sole responsibility it is to make sure he gets to where he needs to be. Can I beat Korky to it - despite the stereotyping for my gender I'm actually rather good at map reading & following directions.... >>
Fridgesoup << Perhaps you could be Jay's guide for the next couple of weeks? >>
Lola the cat << I thought Hannah was supposed to be looking after him, rubbing Vicks in his chest Whiffle, I think you definitely ought to nip in, take him by the hand, and make sure he doesn't get lost again. Perhaps you could put ones of those wrist straps on him, like you use on toddlers, so he doesn't stray too far from your side. >>
janetshep << Yes, you could become a human Jaynav. >>
This may need interdepartmental co-operation with the Chauffeuse division
APPOINTED: Whiffle_09

Hello Isih. Nice to see you back Sorry to hear you're still having internet access issues

Re BIB It must be a mammoth undertaking for you . I know how much I appreciate all the hard work you put into keeping up with Korkys' applications & I'm sure everyone else is the same. So it would be lovely if you were able to post a full list when all your techy issues are sorted.

Thanks for all the, to borrow a phrase from Korky, swoony suit pictures. Here is one from me.

I think Matthew and J need to be in touch and discuss possibilities. They seem to have much common ground and this could be a variation on his musical life. I love that watching evocative dancing makes him emotional and I think So it should. I hope J sees this when he settles down for his bedtime reading.

Such a pity about your Internet problems, Isi. You have other priorities than my 17 pending Jayjob applications so solely from my point of view they can wait until you have time and a proper connection.

Isih - sorry about your internetty problems, but good to see you are still here. We can wait until you are connected properly to the outside world again but yes it would be good to see the list again when and only when you are back online. I'm sure we can think of a few more jobs to keep Korky busy in addition to her 17 pending...are you sure it's only 17 Korky?

Have a brilliant time watching Rambert! I'm sure they will be good whatever...Its a pity Christopher Bruce's choreography is out of fashion, I love the fluidity of movement that he gets from his dancers.
