Wow! He certainly ticks all the boxes with the redheads!

Listening to Jay singing this morning, his voice has such a lovely warm timbre to it - of course he knows just how to pitch his voice for radio, whereas Diana's much more used to giving it her all on stage. Their voices blended well though.

Dying to here more now!

Yes, bye-bye beard!

As to the hair, he's cutting it a bit fine (pun not intended) if he's going to visit a barber in the morning!

Yes, Jay sounded wonderful. His voice is perfect for the role. I must say that I thought Diana a little strident, but it was lovely to hear them harmonise so well.

What a fabulous review by Ann Marie Scanlon - thanks a mill Cat09 for posting Deise Days link .

Thanks again to DD for organising the Soundcloud links to the two radio interviews today and saving us all time in being able to listen to them straight away. I did hear them live this morning but I may just have to force myself to do so again

I can't wait to see it tomorrow night

Lovely pic of Jay with a fan - am delighted for this girl as she had booked tickets for today and cannot make the show tomorrow due to her flight back to the UK being on 8th

Chapter The Second

Find a small quiet place
Settle in a warm cosy nook
Take off your coat and scarf
And take up again my book

Sit with your sleeves rolled up
Stir your tea round and round
Study the annotated pages
Don't let the words confound

Read me like a deep book
Decipher my words and phrases
Read between my lines
Let me absorb your gazes

Open me up to your eyes
Slowly turn my white pages
Unravel the mysteries within
Comprehend my story in stages

Are all your questions answered?
Does a bookmark flag the spot?
Can you follow my narrative?
Is it too tangled a plot?

Turn and turn the pages
Pivotal corners folded down
I bled out onto the paper
When my words ran aground

So there is my unvoiced story
Releasing me from within
Secrets revealed to you only
Long buried beneath my skin

Now let me read your book too
Disclosing your mind therein
Will your story run into mine?
My pages end where yours begin?

There are no missing chapters
It is all there for your eyes
Run your fingers over the lines
You will find there no disguise

Close up the book and hold it
Fully against your heart
Think over the within-written story
Then tell me we must stay apart

Just wanted to put out a big thank you to all who keep us up to date with Jay related videos, pics, interviews etc (no Aliona now)

It is much appreciated by the time-challenged and technically-challenged in life, such as myself.👏👏💕

That's so sad for her - the theatre were a bit slow in getting the news out that the opening had been moved on a day. But I'm very glad she got to meet J anyway.

I believe the actaul first performance is a matinee if she's booked on a late flight.

Thanks DD, Jnb and everyone else for the links to the interviews and the tweets etc.
Great to hear them both in such fine form.
Nice to hear Maureen is there with him. Damien on his way too.
Aliona and Vince going to Dublin to see him again as well sometime.
All very lovely 👍💕👍

Jay and Diana were on Today FM this morning

Interview should be available a little later - popular station and morning show

http://www.todayfm.com/player/listen_back

Ian Dempsey Show - around 8:36am

Nice short interview and they both sang "Cross the Line" live with Stuart Morley playing the piano in the studio
I love 'Cross the line' so much that I sat here with the biggest grin on my face while listening to it in the interview. Can't wait to see the show again. (Sadly, I still think Dublin is a no-no for me. )

Thank you to everyone for the links to the other interviews and that fab-U-lous review by Anne Marie Scanlon.
Anyone who has seen the original film, even those of us who are jaundiced by the passing of time, cannot imagine anyone apart from Tom Hanks as Josh Baskin. Despite the rest of the film not aging well Hank’s performance is a timeless classic, that simply cannot be surpassed.

Well, actually it can as Jay McGuiness nails the part.
BIB - says it all.

Had to laugh at her recollection
Having been in New York in 1987 I especially liked Josh’s arrival at the Port Authority in New York – trust me, it was that dingy and dilapidated.
So true. Not the place for a lone, innocent, nearly-21 year old female from the sticks to hang around at midnight while waiting for a bus to Niagara Falls.

Lovely poem Korky
Many thanks both. I can't see J collaborating on the music with that one though...

I was thinking how much of SCD is fake/contrived/manipulated (marks, order, theme, biased comments, music, props, dance-off, judges' choice, a-thons, etc. etc.) and how J was so conspicuously honest, innocent and genuine in all that fug. To me he didn't belong. Thank goodness Big is a wholesome venture. I still see him one day in serious plays as well as musicals.

I remember the first time I saw Niagara Falls - my brain couldn't take it in, it was just so, well.................BIG!

Morning All,

Just a quickie to say thanks for all the links and pics yesterday. I loved hearing Jay & Diana sing together. The review was also brilliant. I'm so looking forward to seeing Big in January.

RL is super busy at the moment so I'm struggling to contribute much - apologies for that. I also have a small confession to make...I have been cheating on Jay in my daydreams🙀 He's an older man, an American... I'm so sorry, it meant nothing, honestly.😉
It has unfortunately stunted my writing as i've been constructing stories about political intrigues and dangerous liaisons instead. 😳

Very much looking forward to hearing how tonight's first Dublin performance goes. Have a good day all. X
