Aliona has tweeted some lovely photos of her trip to Dublin.
Lovely Twitter exchange with Jessica too.

Rafferty, I love reading all the parts of your reviews & the leaderboard recap is great, especially when there were more celebs left

Slightly OT( and very corny) but the joke in my advent calendar today is for all you felines

Gutted to see Claudia go.
Based on audience reaction on the show and on Twiter, TPTB have really mismanaged this.

Not much one can say about the semi-final really And we all thought the manipulation was bad last year. A lot of very unhappy people on twitter complaining about it.

I'm going to watch leopards kill things - that will make me feel better

Hardly ground breaking stuff though is it, I mean they threw Helen under the bus last year, Claudia this.
No surprise that Claudia was the only remaining celeb not doing the Tour....
The two best dances of the night/series in the DO.

Meh

Well, they've managed it to their own desired conclusion. It's been obvious from week 1 who they wanted in the final and they've manipulated the entire series to help bring this about. Frankly, the programme stinks, as we already knew. Expect Louise to be given all 10s next week irrespective of how she dances - and she's poor and lackadaisical.

Almost everything I've read and heard has had Claudia as favourite. There are so many angry people feeling very upset indeed.

How many times.... The BBC does not produce the tour and has no interest in it. The only one who does is Craig.

Claudia did one very good, one indifferent dance last night. The good dance was not enough by itself to get her through. The meh dance showed up her limitations quite clearly. One good dance does not make it a "fix". I have seen many versions of what people thought the leaderboard order should be. One can only cry "fix" where you see the vast majority of people going "what the..." as per Jameliagate.

Or are you saying that the judges should have picked Claudia over Danny?

By no means. I am pleased that Danny is through. Just wish he had been "dancing off" against someone else.

I agree with you about the supposed Tour conspiracy. I honestly don't think the judges marks are in any way related to that. Sometimes I'm not sure what they are related too.....but I am quite sure its not the tour.

No, I think we are saying Ore was over scored to make sure he got in the final even with a low audience vote. I suspect they thought he might be in the dance off anyway and just in case established a reason to vote for him above anyone else. Danny probably wasn't expected to be in the dance off but whoever Claudia was against, she was going home.
I don't think it is just about the Clifton's. I think there are other factors driving their behaviour.

The BBC may not own the tour but Craig is the director of the show. I simply don't believe that isn't another consideration.

Hear, hear! ^^^

There are numerous examples - one being organising the removal of Ed by having the cha-athon plus lowest scores throughout - afraid that he'd actually go on to win otherwise.

And it's definitely in Hardwood's interests to have winners on his tour. They're the proven public's favourites.

Stage Management produces the Tour. It used to be 'West End' producers.
Craig has directed it - don't think he's a producer - suppose he'll do the same again?

BBC has no input into the Tour, the PTB have no input.

BBC Worldwide just licenses the BBC logo and the Strictly 'way'.

Last year they all seemed to want Kellie to win - we all remember that - and she wasn't doing the Tour.

It's not the same as the X Factor where there's a tour, record deals and so on and X Factor's produces are involved.

BBC doesn't do anything in particular with the Strictly winner - or even the ones the show seems to 'favour' .
Celebrities just need to be popular enough and come across well and they'll get more work if they want it.

Goodness knows what makes the PTB get so worked up - last year I assumed J and A w ere so far ahead the PTB were desperate to keep a 'competition' going.

(Know JJ has tweeted about it, but ....)

Am disappointed as I really liked Claudia. Think Kevin was worried last night, K and L couldn't have beaten Claudia and AJ's quickstep.

The tour - have I got this right?

Helen was thrown under a bus and booted off but did the tour.
Anita was unceremoniously dumped but did the tour.
Katie was pulled and pushed into the final but didn't do the tour.
Kellie was held aloft by the fudges as Ginger Rogers/Cyd Charisse/Leslie Caron reincarnated but didn't do the tour.

I get it...I think

Q what goes oh-oh-oh?
A Santa walking backwards

( Whiffle-warning - I have an advent calendar full of these )

Sorry to see Claudia go. I really loved her QS this week. It was fast, light & joyful . Sad that the manipulation of scores & judges showing obvious partiality to one couple over others seems now to be the norm. I'm off to watch Criminal Minds - can't beat a bit of serial killer action to take your mind off things..............

Without multi quoting as I'm too tired and time - challenged to go through it all 😆

Danny, in the dance off, was always going to get through, no matter how he danced and against whom he was dancing - and in one way that's fair enough.
He is the best dancer because of past experience.

The real issue is, Claudia should not have been in the dance off.
That QS, with the height difference, was not good , it was superb.
Darcey should be hung out to dry for her 9 when she has blatantly given 10's whilst admitting seeing mistakes.

The Cliftons had to be in the final so poor wee Claud was hung out to dry.
Ore was so overmarked it's not true. He was a pole and Jo danced round it in the AT.

Louise's samba was scored by some judges the same as Claud's QS.
She had no chance unfortunately.

Hope Danny wins, but have to say, for someone who wasn't too bothered about this year, at the end of Jaliona and Aliona I am properly p....d off 😆😊💃😠😠😠

Thank you!
That's more or less what I was trying to say (got bogged down in the Tour tho cos just read JJ tweets)

Everyone is right, let's face it none of us know the WHY but we do know the HOW....
Or, we're all wrong, who cares? I certainly don't, not enough to take issue with anyone anyway. This is just an Appreciation Thread not the Houses of Parliament or something.

I think it's hilarious that TPRB think we're stupid enough to not understand what's going on.
Though we all keep going back and watching......
Fred.

Went to a 'bit of a do' with a lot of family and friends last week and Strictly was discussed

Kevin is really popular. Louise was very well liked by most of the women.
Oti is well liked, Danny is well liked.
Joanne is considered to be v v graceful in ballroom and Ore given credit as a beginner who's made a lot of progress.
Claudia and AJ seemed to slip 'between'. When I said I liked them best, most people agreed with me or said they were very sweet, but then started chatting about one of the others.
ETA maybe because they're young?
ETA again - maybe it's the Strictly fans who've appreciated them most, rather than the general audience?

Thanks Rafferty and TT for your reviews - lovely to read.
Liked the contrasting views - and all the extra bits too

Very pushed for time so will have to go - sneaked into the thread when family took Fred the Real Dog a walk - but as always, thank you to everyone for all the clips, links, reports, poems and anything OT too

Spot on danceagogo.

Although it would have been interesting to see what the judges would have done in the dance off if Claudia had aced it and Danny had managed to bungle one of his lifts or drop Oti

I've just seen on facebook my sister announce that she is "so pleased that Louise and Ore are both through to the final" - I have officially just disowned her

Yup.

I was already sickened by the scoring from the fudges on the main show, and knew who was eliminated from the spoiler thread. Didn't watch the Results Show - that was the first time ever I'd given it a miss since I started watching Strictly in series 3. It felt worse than when my favourites have been eliminated in the past, and Claudia wasn't even my particular favourite this year.

Now I don't even know whether I'm going to bother about watching the Final live, although I might record it and watch things like the returners dance etc.

Maybe I'll just rewatch all of Jay and Aliona's dances instead!
