I wish someone would ask him what tweaks have been made to the show.”

Kate seems to think it's just a few tweaks in the production numbers and Jay said in an interview that they'd ironed out a few things after Plymouth, which you'd expect in a new show of this complexity.

Looking at YT this morning certainly confirms that Diana has a great voice and a good range. She seems equally at home singing softly - as she does at times in BIG - as she does in the big production numbers. So to me it looks like she is indeed singing very much in character throughout BIG, as is Jay. And listening to the CD, they're both dealing beautifully with the changing feelings of the characters they portray. Acting in song. I think it's brilliant and am very happy that they're building great chemistry together.

Roll on the West End!

TBird Quite agree with everything you say.

Glad to hear it Spreeathen - was dreadful news from Berlin last night - one wonders where will it all end?

Good to see more positive tweets about BIG the Musical (last night) this morning, including another🎄 one from the cast who really appear to have bonded really well - always a good sign.😊

Am sure the cast are looking forward to their short Christmas break🎄🎅 after such a busy period - really looking forward to seeing Big again on 7th Jan - 🎵🎹🎭 - loved it first time and am sure I will have an even BIGger smile on my face next time, especially with so many of Jay's fans travelling over to attend on the same day/night.
The atmosphere will no doubt be electric ⚡️😊 I hope the deserved WestEnd announcement will be made very soon so that everyone will get their BIG opportunity to see it & support Jay there ✨🎹🎵🎭🎶✨

I've been listening to the CD all morning, and 'Stars' is such a beautiful waltz. Not having seen the show yet, I'm imagining J&A dancing to it in their own world - what a magic moment.

I'd probably get lynched for asking if they do actually waltz during the show? There's an interlude that sounds like they may. Answer in a plain brown envelope, just in case!

I very much doubt if anything that is discussed here would have the slightest effect on BIG The Musical's already announced transfer the West End! Indeed to say so might indicate that you don't have faith in either Jay or the rest of the cast to sustain the move.

I expect the theatre will be announced before long, probably in the new Year when the Dublin run ends, when he PR machine gears up for the West End run.

As you know, we all have a common interest in Jay and Aliona here, and enjoy discussing BIG as we do Strictly, Jay and Aliona. In all our various discussions, nobody has said anything that I would consider amiss, and indeed some of us have been plugging BIG'smove to the West End at appropriate opportunities on the BBC blog, and believe me, it's a bear pit on there. Despite that, I have seen no derogatory comments and people are pleased and excited for him.

So, welcome back and it will be lovely to see you joining in the fun that abounded when you were around, and especially so if you appreciate that we are all responsible adults here and we all support Jay.”

I so agree, BB.

Wow! Super photos - our man's doing the right thing in the right place with the right people. What a great feeling!

Shutting myself away to wrap Christmas pressies this afternoon, I listened to the whole show from start to finish - I'd skipped about listening to Jay and Diana quite a lot before. Anyway, I was completely wowed by Jessica's 'Say Hello to Mom' and 'Stop Time'. The first made me laugh and the latter made me cry, she sang it with such feeling and I wasn't even there.... There are so many nuances in the music and the lyrics, it's a truly terrific show.

It's a great feeling, isn't it, when someone you're fond of and admire is doing so well and so thoroughly enjoying his work - a really positive vibe.

Yes, I like Jessica's voice. She has an attractive vibrato. There are some very moving songs in Big.

Interesting article you posted a link to earlier Jayfan, if you are not on twitter here is the link;

So, putting my super sleuth hat on and probably putting 2 and 2 together and making 27, The Addams Family as a musical...hmmm. Jay posted a clip of the hand from the film walking down a corridor with the word "yes". Is he just pleased it is going to happen and he is preparing to see it...or...has he lined up his next job?

I have been listening to Big, when I could, today. I haven't got the CD, just listening on Spotify. I haven't been fortunate enough to see it yet and will have to wait until WE, but listening today has made me feel that I can't wait to see it. I kept wondering what was happening on stage in between the numbers. It sounds like a great piece of musical theatre.
Jay's voice sounds just right for each song he sings, vulnerable and slightly hesitant in some and a belting it out and confident in others.

It seems strange, hearing him sing in the " musicals " way as opposed to the boy band way. In my opinion he has a great voice and to be very honest, I am slightly and pleasantly surprised. Not that I didn't love this voice when he sang in the band, I did, but I think he was under used and we didn't hear how good his voice was.
It must be a totally alien way of singing for him, so very different from the singing and harmonising he became used to in The Wanted. I know he did singing, dancing and acting at MADD but that was a long time ago. He is a natural though. Its great to hear him act with his voice in the songs ( I know I am not explaining this very well ) and I look forward to seeing him actually act on the stage, again something, I am sure I will be pleasantly surprised about. For some reason, I don't now know why, I was very wibbly about Jay tackling the lead in a musical, but hearing the Big recording, I needn't have worried.
If Jay takes a musical theatre career seriously, I believe he could be a star

Jaydream

He took away the book I held
And replaced it with his hand
He led me to a darkened place
As if it all was planned
... And I did not understand

Slowly he began to dance
While my eyes held his gaze
He held out both his arms to me
I went to him in a daze
... I trusted in his ways

We held each other closely
So slowly waltzing round
Moving to a gentle rhythm
Without the quietest sound
... Was I still earth-bound?

Before the dance was over
He'd entwined my fragile heart
Exchanging wordless responses
No longer worlds apart
... Oh what would this start?

We held each other closely
As the evening passed away
We mirrored all our gentle moves
I could not tell him nay
... Soon feelings would betray

The twilight started fading
The dawn was plain to see
A sad smile and a break of hands
For what could never be
... But he'd been my symphony
