I've seen some comments hoping strongly, to put it politely, that Jay is better for Saturday. But the way I see it, yes of course I will be sad if he is unable to appear on Saturday but hey I haven't been to Dublin for years, I'm staying in a very nice looking hotel, I'm going to do touristy things and Gregor seems to be doing a fine job as Big Josh so I will be seeing a wonderful show. And it gives me a genuine excuse to see it again if it does go to London with Jay.

So, if you are reading this Jay, don't worry about appearing when you are not ready, you need to get properly well again otherwise Korky will be round to force feed tuna bake to you

Oh cripes - he'll be barfing on top of all his other ills!

Seriously, though, the most important thing is that he looks after himself - not convinced he's always very good at that!

Good priorities, Jayfan. He really is ill.

Rest long
Under sleep's spell
Nothing matters more
Than getting well
Sleep deeply
Pretty dreams in your head
Of dancing oh so slowly
Light years ahead
Lovely sentiments Korky. Sleep is a great healer. Plus as laryngitis is commonly a secondary infection(first time I had it it was with an ear infection) he's possibly got something else to get over as well ( I would guess that's what the antibiotics are for?).

I'm sure that no matter how much he want to get back the docs will not let him unless he is properly recovered especially with a (touch wood, fingers crossed etc) West End run to come.

On you we all dote
To you odes we devote
So keep your spirits afloat
And wear your warm coat
When irksome bugs are smote
Your newly polished throat
With it's divine and silvery notes
Will win rapturous crtitical votes!

I promise I will cook whatever he fancies because I'm a firm believer in listening to and obeying your body. If he wants boiled eggy and soldiers then that's what he'll have, and I'll feed him very slowly... 💕

sorry Korks, I'm sure your tuna bake is lovely really.

I think you're right, he was being given B12 which I thought was normally given for anaemia. He did admit that when he was at college he made himself ill through not eating properly and he has cut dairy out of his diet since Plymouth, which was probably his main source of protein. And it is a bit of a fallacy that it's not good for singing. So, start eating properly James

I suspect that this will have been explained to him. He needs to be 100% fit and unfortunately I can't see that happening for a few weeks.

Maybe a vacancy for an invigilator to make sure there are no spare bits of shell to make mischief?

Yes, Lola and Korky, you're both right. I remember him saying about not eating eggs, and they're a major source of B12. Eat right, stay fit!

We want you completely well
So those bugs please repel
And when your nodules don't swell
You'll sing as sound as a bell

Erm... I believe it's included in the duties of Medical Attendant.

I'm smoothing and stroking it in very gently... He smells divine! 😙

It was touch and go at times. (I'd touch and he'd go... )
