I can end up trying to use touch screen on laptop and scroll on old kindle etc etc.

Oh god yes and I'm not even old really and I'm quite techy. Some of the daft things I've done, one of my most embarrassing was driving home, locking the car with remote key and then standing by front door and trying to open it by just pointing the key at it In my defence it had been a long day and I was tired, my kids who were with me at the time have never let me forget it

It looks like they had a good time. Oh to be young and beautiful - and able to wear that front tying dress thingy!

BTW - it's good to hear that I'm not the only person swiping when there's nothing to swipe. You have to press a button? - WHAT!!?

All this is music to my ears. I have a remote key for the car and when I get into another car it takes me ages to remember what the key's for. I haven't totally succumbed to Kindle - have it on this netbook and my phone and it's great for travelling, but otherwise prefer real paper books (for my detective stories ) It tickled me that my technophobe sister leaped on the idea of Kindle and can't be separated from it while I'm reasonably techie and don't really like it all that much. Each to their own!

Yep. A button. I know stone ages.
I donated that one to me Mom (followed by the new one) but she prefers the old one cos she turns too many pages when she nods off by swiping in her sleep 😂😂😂

Nope, still don't like her much. What exactly does Lauren do when she's not a scantily clad instagram/twitter girl or partying?

I still blame "baby brain" and yes I am well aware they are now aged 18 and 21 but that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it

But just thought I could now just blame J for my slightly befuddled state sometimes

This is what I think when I see so many drinks and 'shots' every day and then I recall medical articles about the effect of alcohol on the throat and oesophagus...

Mmm.... 18 years worth of baby brain......OK I'm sure that's a valid reason.
For the Jacytionary then: (attributed to Lola)
Jayfuddled: to be in a confused state of mind

He should he getting down to rehearsals and getting stage fit quite soon. So a short holiday including a birthday party might not affect him too much. Hopefully

Thanks Korky.
I saw this on rosa's site but had no idea how to get it here. Was this always just a pic or was it perhaps a Snapchat do you think.

I've no idea but don't snapchat pictures disappear after a while? Maybe I'm thinking of something else.

According to rosa's site it's a snapchat.

ETA: Yes Korky, they do, but there are apps that can be used to save them.

Have finally caught up and just had to quote the bits of CatO's amnesty homework that really tickled my funnybone.

Agrion and ahouch, so glad that this thread provided the encouragement to explore your creative talents.
Isih, superb work, as usual. Glad to see that no elephants were harmed in the making of the Jayjob compilation.
jnb, will be thinking of you tomorrow.

For those interested in Christine and the Queens, there's a nice piece in the Irish Times with a YouTube video of the Jools Holland appearance.

And here's my amnesty homework summary, with thanks to Fred for sterling work:

Cha cha cha: Nervous disposition
Waltz: Sublime spinning
Jive: Technical perfection
Quickstep #1: Pushing on through
Paso doble: Choreographic mastery
American smooth: Hidden depths
Argentine tango: Tentative seduction
Foxtrot: Aching and faking
Salsa: Party on, people
Tango: Thuddity thud thud
Quickstepathon: Joie de vivre
Rumba: Watch and weep
Viennese waltz: Tender and true
Charleston: Complexity and characterisation
Quickstep #2: I CAN do better
Showdance: Seamless storytelling
Paso #2: Escape to victory
Victory: Bittersweet end of the beginning

Night all. xx

I do think in part some of the concern on here about J's behaviour and the company he keeps is in part borne out of the fact that I guess most of us are older than him. We have all "been there, done that, got that t-shirt" and I guess we just want to warn him that perhaps toning down the partying might be a good idea and perhaps not drink so much.

Yes, this is wholly true for me. I'd be equally concerned for my daughter of the same age.

I know it's hard sometimes to let them make the same mistakes we made. But I guess we learnt so although it is difficult we have to let them go through the same experiences and hopefully come out the other side intact and just be there to pick up the pieces if necessary. But I do worry about J sometimes more than I should or have any need or right too.

Yep . Got a wardrobe full of t-shirts somewhere.
I reckon I do look at it from the point of view of, yeah I did that but then I grew up (sort of).
I think he will have a different work ethic when it comes to this Autumn compared to his year/18 months sabbatical pre SCD.

He has a sensible family who will keep him firmly grounded I reckon

Me too. Some think they're invincible but they may be storing trouble for later life.

J sings you a lullaby

Let dreamy thoughts caress your mind
As you sink into your pillow
Hear the gentle breeze blowing through the boughs
And stirring the catkins of willow
Think of starlight peeping through the leaves
With a magical moon above
Picture me waltzing through the night
Dancing with the look of love
Hear the whisper of the swaying trees
As you lie in your tranquil bed
With images of me gliding slowly
Swirling softly round in your head
