Good work DD. I like having the collection because a) I can whizz through the thread and then b) read them all collected together without distraction.

Thank you

Not sure I can function at 37 degrees

Btw: I did a bit of "research" on weather in Las Vegas.

If Jay and Shytown really did their video within in the last two or three weeks, then they had temperatures between 30 and 42 degrees

Los Angeles was rather cool the last two to three weeks - around 20 degrees.

It is difficult - we actually had a couple of weeks of 35-40 last year and spent most of the time in front of fans blowing icecubes over us. Fortunately nature took a break as well so we didn't fall behind too much!

I'd just find an air-co shop/cinema and ignore work

This is quite fun - found it on this morning's Furrow in the Burrow:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZPE_PWNx3s

Raining here too, and we're babysitting a rather disconsolate and soaking wet racing pigeon. He arrived yesterday morning, we managed to get the owner's phone number from the ring on his leg. But we can't 'contain' him as ordered. So he's taking his life in his hands and the cat's sulking because we've had to keep him in.

I haven't seen that one before. Thanks BB. Love it. 😍
Happy bird sitting - if only it were a different kind of 'Bird' eh!😉

A strange yellow spherical -ish object has just been seen in the sky - I'm not entirely sure what it is, could be alien spaceship or some people are saying it is something called the "Sun".

Spreeathen and Isih - can really go off some people, I would share the weather forecast for where I live with you but I just know I could hear you both laughing from here.

BIB: please don't I promise not to enjoy it and that I will stay indoors. And I would NEVER laugh about somebody else's bad weather

It's a joke...I haven't gone off anyone. Mind you if it carries on raining and it's still sunny where you are...

Don't worry I have numerous raincoats, umbrellas and welly boots and to be honest I am a sun dodger as I just go pink and then white again

BIB 1: I know

And you have Jay to carry your umbrella for you. After Korky temporarily released him, he's still available for his other duties.

Korky is going to think this is a job for her "microwave button pusher", she will always ensure that J's buttons are correctly pushed

Sorry Korks - love you really

This dance seems to split opinions on here more than any other but I really, really love it. From the first time I saw it, it has never failed to make me smile & I could watch it on a loop all day. The moment the music started I was hooked. Hadn't heard the song before but it reminded me strongly of Bad Things by Jace Everett – the theme to True Blood. And they hadn't had to shoehorn in the 'theme', it was naturally suggested by the song. I loved Alionas' beautifully swishy red dress but sadly couldn't recognise J at all under the wolfie make-up.

A bit of scene setting at the start – gosh he does makes a handsome wolf & naughty Red stroking his ears like that. The dance proper starts & even though J is facially unrecognisable as soon as he starts to move his body betrays his identity – no mistaking those beautiful lines & feet. The first lift is so assured & the lowering absolutely controlled.

Wolfie spins & masterfully pulls Red into hold & they are off, a wolf somewhat incongruously performing a Foxtrot. The choreography fits so closely to the songs rhythm with lovely touches – a ronde ( hope that is correct!) into a smooth standing spin then driving across the floor into another beautiful spinning lift, slowing at the end so Wolfie can put Red gently down in perfect time to spin back into hold. A slight pause then off pivoting away. A final lift – not just spinning but travelling as well and it's over. Wolfie grins thinking he has seduced Red. Red winks knowingly - she lets him think that & off they walk together with just a hint of a caveman from Wolfie

Sorry if I have rambled on a bit - just can't seem to do one word reviews ( or witty ones like Cat09)

I'm very pleased to say that since this stint of self-confessed Lazydigititis I have trained him in the fine motor skill of finger dexterity and he is now a virtuoso. 👆☝🖕👍👌

Hmmm... I think I'd prefer to guide his finger to the relevant button rather than do it for him, should he need a refresher lesson. (See above.)

So Finger Guide as a Jayjob please, Isih!

Wonderful review Whiffle. The American Smooth has never been a favourite of mine, but the areas you highlighted show some beautiful details that on my own I would have missed. So thanks for that. I may not be keen on watching the whole routine repeatedly but I'd be more than happy to watch your gifs of it over and over again.
I see no rambling and always love your reviews. Everyone has their own style and each and every one brings out different aspects of the dances. Looking forward to your next. X

Hmmm, I feel you're underestimating the microwave issues Korky. So many things can go wrong ...

What would you do if there was a mismatch in the active port diameter? Or the feed-forward amplifier got stuck?

We wouldn't want THIS to happen

Whiffle, lovely review and gorgeous gifs to illustrate your points. Love it
nelliek, awesome work on the Jalionista tourista list
BB, thanks for the TouTube link.
I found a video of The Wanted and Irish House Party performing the song live together 5 weeks after that impromptu session. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMzdQAE2zIQ

Brilliant review Whiffle It wasn't one of my favourites but I can appreciate the lifts, they seemed so effortless and your gifs were great.

Well, I agree that the acceptance angle is vital to get right, as is the angle of arrival, or the result may be a propagation delay.

I always enjoy your reviews, Whiffle. And you've pretty much captured how I felt about it on the night. The best bit for me was when it all went up a gear, and those lifts! I'm now going to give it a lot more attention than before - I really didn't like the Wolf makeup or those awful trousers at all, which has put me off watching it.

ahouch Email from the owner saying the pigeon arrived home safely. Cat peeved. Now all we need is the real thing home....

Deise Great find! I'll enjoy watching that, thanks.

.....and the sun's out! OH tells me it's a Strawberry Moon tonight, and there won't be another one for sixty odd years, which would make J in his 80s by then! Ooer.

When pressing the microwave buttons
It's important to do nothing sudden
But to use the wrong digit
When you're such a big fidget
May result in an exploding oven

Just caught up - loving the weather forecast chat. It's a lovely evening here now but was raining stair rods for most of the day (especially when I decided to go to the garden centre!). Hope it stays dry so I can finally get my grass cut.( If any nice young man would like to help they are more than welcome, I do have ladybirds in the garden)

Have done my voting monkey duties Miss

Probably completely wrong, but having read some of J's cryptic tweets on here wondered if there was any significance to 1st November (1/11 or1.11)
BTW love Lazy digititis Korky

ETA Thanks DD for the lovely updated poem collection

And would you know how to handle a star coupler?

I'm not sure this is the job for you Korks ...

Isih, with my scientific background, I could apply my knowledge of frequency modulation and fibre bandwidth in the new position of Microwave Manipulation Mistress. I would carefully calculate the rise time and fall time and ensure that all necessary RF shielding is in place to avoid any microwave leaks.

So... You on the scientific side and me handling the Jaydigit/human side of the world of the microwave. Seems quite logical and fair to me.

I do know how to handle a star coupler, yes. The first thing to do is getting the Insert Coax just right.
