I agree it looks like Aliona may have this in mind. It is exquisite, but I would like to see more dance content for J if they do something like this - the male dancer in this clip is mainly there to show off the female - lots of lifts - and J is such an elegant dancer in his own right he deserves more, dare I say it, exposure.

Not keen on the soggy setting though - too much potential for injury at a crucial time for J.

The Rumba from 1:17 to 1:25 is probably the hottest choreography ever on Strictly.

Aliona stayed with sweet romance with Jay - so far. It might be interesting if Aliona did choreograph something much more sensual, but I don't think it would be ideal for KD.

We've known about KD for so long as it was 'discovered' by our sleuths so early , but it seems not to be generally known yet.. Bit surprised that there hasn't been more promotion - Edinburgh might not be until November, the other two are only in 2 1/2 and 3 months' time. But as jnb has said, Robin isn't back from his summer work yet and Louis has a busy summer in Rio!

As I've been collating the 'Amnesty Homework', it's struck me that there aren't that many J and A interviews and appearances to add since Strictly finished. Don't think it's a problem though, as suspect there'll be more as we get closer to J's very busy Autumn and hopefully we'll see more of A too.

It does surprise me that J doesn't use Twitter more to communicate with his fans. If it wasn't for our excellent sleuths in Ireland , we wouldn't have known about the radio interview. It would be easy for J to just Tweet that he was going to be on the programme? Suppose it does mean though that he'd need his phone with him .

I suspect J had a specific reason for going to the USA, or he would have gone to Cold play with the others.


Lovely review Whiffle, really enjoyed it. The AS wasn't one of my favourites first time round - think the heavy makeup, though really clever, was a bit off-putting. But you could see the cheeky expressions. Did like the lifts and your gifs really show the superb lifts

Jay is in the same group as Georgia, Louisa Lytton and Gavin Henson.

I loved Louisa - my second favourite of Vincent's partners after Rachel.

She has something in common with Jay, too - a 10 from Bruno for a week 3 jive! This was despite Vincent being injured on Monday and not being able to dance until the morning of the actual show, which was when they actually ran through the routine for the first time!

I would love her to get through this round but I don't think she will be able to beat Georgia or Jay. Well, I wouldn't even want her to beat Jay.

OT-ish but the Irish among you will be pleased to know that the Irish fans went down really well in Bordeaux - apparently lots of singing and serenading, down to a tramful of them quietning down and singing a lullaby when a couple were trying to get their baby to sleep. It's already low 20s and our project for this morning is a bonfire . Should have been last week but you can't run a bonfire in the rain!

I do agree about posting, I can't always manage to post something every day, but try to make up for it when I can.

Towards the end if Strictly this thread had 20,000+ views a day.

Even now, when it's quiet, it's had 130,000+ views since Part 6 started - that's more than 6,000 views a day on average. (Tends to be busier on some days than others).

It isn't the same people checking and rechecking - I did a little test a while ago.

When something is happening, like J's radio interview or him being on National Lottery, the views go up to 10,000+ a day.

The AT was a caldera waiting to blow, and with more content and time to rehearse, could set KD on fire - as I said before, it showed the power under the bonnet. I don't think we've seen the half of what J can do yet - so lots to look forward to.

I suspect the choreography for BIG will take in a variety of elements; tap maybe, street dance and group routines, so a bit of sizzle in KD will highlight J's versatility. Plus I suspect A really wants to dance more adventurously with J, and he with her.

Just a quick post to say I'm still here! Not getting the opportunity to post very much at the moment. Just a comment here and there. I have been particularly hamstrung by the fact my OH has decided to work from home the last two days. I therefore feel like I have to run around like a headless chicken looking busy to justify not being at work. I don't think spending hours on the thread would be deemed affective use of my time! I will however caveat this statement by saying it is completely in my own head. He doesn't need me to justify what I do. I just feel I should.

I've finally found some inspiration for my Jive review so I should be posting that in a few days time. A different approach again. I'm also working on another post about the J&A experience.

BTW I have voted in Monkseal's World Cup - go Jay!
