Ahouch - loved your Jive Story, I really like different takes on things rather than just pure dance analysis now.

You could get t-shirts for the kids - BIG for your son and KD for your daughter on the front and details of where to get tickets on the back - OH will just think they look cute and you can advertise to everyone at the same time.

You will have to see Big twice, once with girlies so you can fangirl and once with your OH so you can support him in is remembrance of his love for the film - being a supportive wife, he will never guess

It must have been difficult to do that on what looked like quite a bumpy ride! Still great vocals though and J on good form. 😍

American Smooth : Bit gimmicky, but I liked it. And blow you-know-who, I could see facial expressions even under the make-up
Argentine Tango : First time I've appreciated a greasy dago look, and the lack of gauchos was a bit disturbing
Foxtrot : Beautiful up to the last little trip. Someone deserved to be flayed and left on an anthill and it wasn't Jay
Salsa : Never wanted to go to Benidorm, but this could have persuaded me. He blended with the pros.
Tango : There was fire. No ice, which I could have used, but plenty of fire.
Quickstep-a-thon : Should have been longer and they should have won
Rumba : Don't Blink (with apologies to TT). (aside - Aljaz always looks so proud of him)
Viennese Waltz : Beautifully lyrical. J shouldn't doubt that he can act. A bit slow for a VW but given the music, so smooth. Perhaps with faster music, faster steps (which we know he can do), Len wouldn't have been able to pick up on the feet so much and Darcey wouldn't have been able to comment on his being 'comfortable' - which I think was a fair comment.
Charleston : Woohoo! Cool! Proper swivels, fast, funny, if not for the awkward ending 10s all round - no jellybabies Quickstep : Didn't Jay enjoy himself! But then Len sets the tone with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp. Showdance : At the time, worrying about the slightly sour note, wondered if it would be spectacular enough. I loved it,
Paso Doble : Double swoon. Watching the two pasos close together made me realise JUST how much Jay had developed, all round, throughout the series

Outside in the moonlight with the glitterball twinkling our dynamic duo, looking like two cats that had got the cream, pulled off their wigs to reveal their true identities. They hugged and celebrated and danced around the glitterball, in their joy they did not notice the shadowy figure approaching. A cough and a shuffle ball change alerted them to his presence, as he stepped out of the shadows their joy turned to terror, “Nice to see you, to see you nice”.

Brucie, no where did you come from...Jay and Aliona froze under his gaze. Brucie slowly stepped forward, bent down and picked up the glitterball, “This is coming with me and you two are coming back to Strictly. You didn’t think you would be allowed to win this on the strength of one dance did you? You poor deluded pair, you have to follow the story we have prepared for you, now turn around and go back”

Jay and Aliona hugged and made to follow Brucie and as they made their weary way back to the studio Brucie turned and said “Next week it’s the quickstep for you, to The Who, just try and dance to that, mwah ha ha ha”.

Thinking about this BB - and SeasideLady's comment about Vincent and Flavia's tour.

I went to see V and F too - excellent, can really recommend it if you can still get to see it and if you haven't spent all your spare pennies on KD tickets or Big

The advertising seemed to come directly from the theatre - leaflets and brochures in the post or information on the theatre's website. I can't remember how long before the performance the information came through - though the brochures are usually for the 'season' and any brochures usually appear in the post a few weeks beforehand. The stalls and circle seats for V and F were mostly taken, apart from just a few at the back or edges. Am not sure if the upper circle was used - not many people way up there if it was.

So, all in all, not to worry about KD We are hopefully safe from wandering around our local areas sporting sandwich boards ahouch or T-shirts Lola to promote KD.


Thinking too about J in the USA. Obviously, don't know about his working arrangements, but if you have a Green Card to work there, you have to spend some time there and pay USA income tax. However many 'artistes' who demonstrate 'extra-ordinary ability in the arts' - and science, sport - have a more flexible O-1 visa. Think J with his 'extra-ordinary abilities' in dance and singing definitely fits into this category

Suspect he's working hard in the USA. Is there any reason why you mentioned Mamajan - voice coach BB? Agree too, BB about the image J projects. Remember the New Year Tweet from the USA with the beer bottle - and then J turned up for the Tour and it was obvious he'd kept up his dance training and fitness.


hannah, that's what you've been up to - what a good idea! Is that a new 'job'? Can't think of a job title - Curator of the short Reviews? Collector of the Concise?

Mamajan was the voice coach that Scooter Braun sent Jay (and Tom) to, when they were in "The Wanted Life"
I'd have thought Jay wouldn't necessarily use her (though I have no doubt she is good) due to unpleasant memories?
Nathan used someone in the UK after his surgery.......?

I'm really very surprised Jay is in the USA when one of his ex bandmates - Max - is in the UK for 6 weeks and Tom is in London too, plus he has missed the Coldplay gig and the lad's holiday (admittedly that was due to passport problem? Maybe he missed something essential in the USA when his passport was missing?)

BTW - someone on Twitter who's a US long term fan confirmed that the video footage in Las Vegas that @terrygotfired (ex - Shytown?) tweeted the other day, was from last July. Jay's hair must have been in the ManBun under his hat.

I also assume he has lost yet another phone, or his doesn't work in the US - no Tweet or Likes on Twitter for 2 weeks+

Not tumbleweed Jnb. Watched this morning but didn't have time to post anything. I hadn't seen the one with 'Dave' either. Sound qualities a bit poor. I love the story about the others reeling women in and him getting them because he's the only single one. Self-deprecating as ever.

BIB - Maybe Jnb but I wouldn't be that surprised if Jay did use the same voice coach as in The Wanted Life. He was obviously upset by the way the coaching was suggested to him, but he did say it helped in the end. And he does like to surround himself with familiar faces. I also wonder whether more of a meal was made of it in the editing than in reality. The whole thing suggested that Nano was this awful, grumpy and tactless manager. But Jay is still in contact with him and other stuff on You Tube shows him joining in with all of the fun.
I think Nathan's coach in the UK was someone who used to teach him when he as younger so they had history too. I expect we may never know!

Fred - thanks also for spreading an additional light on the possible reasons for J being in the States at the moment.

It's a shame he's not here and not tweeting. I miss him. ☹️

I think they will look at the venues where Jay and Aliona are appearing and compare them with the other venues. If there is a big difference, then that would indicate a potential market for a Jaliona Tour.

I to have concerns about the poor ticket sales for KD , I have been checking sales for the night we are going, for some time now, and they are dire also. I know there has been little publicity if any, except for Jnb who has been excellent on Twitter, promoting anything J and A .i know it probably isn't down to J & A to promote KD as they are guesting,but I also am disappointed that J doesn't stay around and promote himself a bit more,as soon as he gets the chance he is back off to America,for holidays, or whatever.it seems the pull is to great,I understand all the reasons, used to live there friends there. He has friends here family here,but at he moment his bread and butter is here.I also know how he runs is life is nothing to do with me,,or anyone else for that matter, I really really,want him to do well,and wish him all the very best, because he so deserves all the success he has achieved. Holidays are coming up, the new strictly season will soon be with us ,people soon forget, and move on. I do want to be positive and I really hope what ever happens proves me wrong and I am worrying unnecessarily ,I suppose only time will tell, and I am so looking forward to KD and Big..I hope I haven't been to negative, or said anything out of turn, just wanted to say what I feeling . Hope everyone is well, and love and hugs to all that need them.xx

No you haven't been too negative. I don't know about the ticket sales for Keep Dancing but I wouldn't even know there was a show with J & A starring in it if it wasn't for the forum. I do feel it would be better for him to be here, fair enough go for a holiday but come back here you need to think of promoting yourself.

I also know it's really none of my business what he does but I only want him to be a success.
