Quite a bargain if you're in the States and need connectivity for up to 21 days.

http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/p...l-tourist-plan

For $30, you get a three week plan of:

Unlimited data (4G LTE speeds for only the first 2GB)
Unlimited domestic (US) and international texting to more than 140 nations
1,000 minutes of talk time within the US

You'll need to find a T-Mobile store when you land, but

That's good but I prefer Three Feel At Home as at least I can call the UK for free with it which is what I'm more likely to be doing.

Three is extremely limited and everything is capped or slowed down.
you'd be better off with tmobile and a voip app such as foocall.

It's a good deal if your phone is compatible over there, or in a dual SIM phone. This or US mi-fi?

If you have a three contract and only want to call the UK I can see FAH being useful when abroad. If you want to use data however...

There are a few drawbacks. It stops after 3 weeks and can't be renewed. There is only 200Mb of domestic roaming data and you can't buy more. After 2Gb you get 2G speeds. You don't get any of the uncarrier services. Etc

I think for most people 2GB of data would be fine for a holiday. It's meant for tourists. I think most are going to just want to be able to have data and know there's no extra cost.

Most tourist places will be covered by T-Mobile so you shouldn't need much data to roam onto another network with, but it's handy to have if you need it.
