Thought this would be an ideal thread to talk about some of the call ups and omissions from other sides as there are some interesting talking points.

One of which being that Isco and Saul Niguez miss out on the Spain squad.

Good idea, Dandem.

You can see the confirmed list of squads here >> Link.<< It will be updated as more come in.

No Reus for Germany due to injury concerns.

Eidur Gudjohnsen makes it in for Iceland at the grand old age of 37.

And Joe Ledley is in the Wales squad despite breaking his leg just over 3 weeks a go.

Schweinsteiger made the Germany squad, wow. And people complained about Rooney being guaranteed a place by being captain!

Spain have the luxury of leaving out Saul, Isco, Javi Martinez, Santi Cazorla etc. While much is made of Mark Noble being uncapped, Atletico Madrid captain Gabi is in the same position.

Rosicky makes the Czech squad.

Which they're currently losing 2-0

Not ideal preparation to say the least.

Some names being left out would easily get into the England squad which says something baring in mid I think we have a half decent chance.

Saul Niguez left out but Pedro still in, rather odd judgment by del Bosque.

Thought Saul would have lit up this tournament,

Huth not in the Germany squad is more of a shock to me than Reus. Apparently Reus can only run forwards at the moment according to Low (whatever that means ). Schweinsteiger in but then he didn't play all season so he may be fit and rested for the Euros. Hehe

Costa not in the Spain squad. Spain could easily make up 2 national teams. The depth of talent there is crazy.

Benzema out of the French squad because so much stupidity is criminal.

Italy have left out Jorginho and Riccardo Montolivo from their 23.
Marchisio, Verratti, Pirlo and Balotelli had already been ruled out.

Jorginho was expected to go so his omission is a surprise.

This will probably be the worst Italy team of all time

I don't know why Hummels got the call up. He's terrible nowadays

Not as bad as it sounds thankfully : that was virtually the Rep of Ireland B team and played in a tiny stadium down in Cork......nearly all the big names were rested from the starting XI

The German squad doesn't look great at all. Only the midfield looks decent

France have called up Schneiderlin after Lassana Diarra pulled out due to injury.

I wonder which keeper will be the starting one for Spain, surely only the manager playing dirty politics will stop De Gea from filling that position.

Lol I can't believe there's even a question mark over that. How insane

It really shouldn't be a question at all, as De Gea is light years ahead of any other Spanish goalkeeper, but from some unknown and unfathomable reason, he is not quite seen as their number one keeper.

In that case Spain is out of contention.

I also think the same goes for Italy with Buffon unfortunately.

Buffon remains one of the best goalkeepers around, he's in on merit.

Not when Italy's second keeper is much better! Buffon won Italy the World Cup, but at some point enough is enough and he has to go

Italy's second goalkeeper isn't much better. Buffon's just won another league while setting a new record for minutes without conceding, sat behind the players who will make up the national team defence. Sirigu isn't even first choice for his club. Enough isn't yet enough.

All squads are now confirmed.

Tomas Rosicky has made it to the Czech 23 despite barely kicking a ball this past season.

And Ricardo Carvalho is in the Portugal squad at the age of 38 despite missing the last two major tournaments.

Unfortunately as a Milan fan, Buffon pulled off some great saves when we played Juventus in April. He might be 38 but he's still a class act.
