England in Marseille always had the potential to be 'lively', as anyone who went in 1998 or has been on a Euro away with their club will tell you.

I believe for the most part it will be. I'm sure there will be increased police numbers, the UK is providing support that the French request and I'm guessing other allies will be supporting too. If I cared enough about football, I'd probably have tried to get tickets to go still.

Loving the throw at the 10 second mark that goes about 2 yards. |

Classy from the English support yet again. It's time they received a ban.

Another unsurprising trait is sneering at everything in sight.

I hope the French police round up all the English troublemakers and send them straight back home. No football for them, I hope.
When they do return, they'll be bleating about what big bullies the French police were. Tough.

It takes some balls to take on the Russians when your training regime has been Stella, crap coke and kebabs when the Russian lads are mad for the MMA and see it as a job. |

I really don't see why anyone would want to start or cause any trouble, just what is in it for them?
Why smash up someone else's establishment, what does it gain anyone in doing so?? I just don't get this mindset at all. Why not just sit down and watch the football, is that really such a hard thing to do?? |

It's a tribal thing for some, like they're fighting for their country or their club or whatever cause they hitch their wagon to while embarrassing people who didn't ask for plastic chairs to be thrown at police in their name.

Whilst I don't get the smashing up of stuff the rest is all about reputation.
That is why everyone wants a go at the English casuals, for years they had the best reputation. ![]() What pride can someone possibly take in having a reputation as someone who does such criminal acts??

There is just not reason at all for causing such damage. |

So people actually want a reputation as someone who goes around fighting and smashing up other people's businesses???

If they want to fight for their country, then sign up for the armed forces, as they most certainly are not fighting for the country by doing what they are doing here.

Some will see what they think is mistreatment or the police being a bit too heavy and then it spreads like a rash to the point that people are raging without really knowing why. There's an underlying distrust of the police quite prevalent in football fans, and if they're foreign police and you remove the chances of communication further no good can come of it.
No matter how you feel, there can be no excuse to bottle, fight with the police. It's going on again right now. I thought we would have problems with security from Isis, but it turns out it is actually England fans that are the threat to security. its nit being reported in the media here, I'm watching a documentary on Gareth bale whilst a mini riot is going on for a 4th day. No mention whatsoever Is there a reason for thus? |

You fight with people, the police will come. You destroy a business, the police will come. What exactly is there to be distrustful of the police, foreign or otherwise about?? If you are doing nothing wrong, just sitting watching the football, the no police force from any country, will try to arrest you, or anything like that. Police only get "heavy handed", when the situation calls for them to do so, if everyone was just sitting down, acting normal, then they wouldn't do anything. So I really don't see what there is to be distrustful over. ![]()

People walking around actively looking for trouble really aren't going to care about society tutting at them and joining the Army's much harder work than getting some like-minded pals together and taunting 'the enemy' until something kicks off.
