Continuation of: World Wrestling Entertainment Discussion 41 (Spoilers)

I have to agree, two of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time yet both their title matches sucked. The Wrestlemania match could have been a classic had they been given 25-30 minutes to work in. The less said about the Montreal match, the better.
I really dont know why fans shit on that Iron Man match now. I guess its because they want multiple decisions in these matches. I really hated the Trips/Rock one for ages given how many decisions happened in 1 hour that would never happen in a singles match. Rock DDT'ing Hunter in a singles match would never result in a pin victory.

I remember watching the Steamboat/Flair 1 hour draws and loved them.

I really enjoyed the one they did on Raw between Benoit and Triple H. Shame they cut it to 45 minutes instead of keeping it 1 hour.

Rock/HHH is my favourite one. Plenty of falls, twists and turns, and that's not even getting onto how invested everyone was with their feud.

The DDT didn't bother me. It's 60 minutes so it makes sense that certain moves are going to be more impactful when you take it all into consideration. The fact Bret/Shawn had no falls bothered me for exactly the same reason.

Well seeing as its got wrestling in the company name you would think fans would enjoy a 60 minute wrestling match from Shawn/Bret.

I was 13 at the time and wasn't bored watching it at all. Still find it a great match now.

Maybe I just appreciate excellent technical wrestling.

Only problem I had with it and this was at the time was only 1 fall.

They spent about 2 months telling us that this match won't end in 1 fall and then it did.

They could have gone with a 1-1 tie and still had the same ending even have Bret get the first fall so he could bitch about it.

Big Cass has been turning a lot of heads within WWE because of his look and in-ring work.

While Enzo Amore was out of action with a concussion last month, many people were looking at Cass as not just a tag team player but a future singles star. Cass has been booked the way he has as a way to protect him in case they want to pull the trigger on a singles run. It will be interesting to see what happens with Enzo and Cass in the WWE Draft.

On a related note, Enzo returned from his concussion a few weeks earlier than some expected.

So I take it this is the right thread? I thought we were all paying homage to the brand split having 2 separate threads. Anyways was watching Smackdown last night now I might be having one of those strange imaginations but did AJ Styles really win a match with the Styles clash?

It'd be quite funny if DS decided to have a Forum split.

Got high hopes for SD after the brand split. I think Raw will be a lost cause.

Yeah I can just imagine it all of us being drafted to this thread except for Hollie who would get drafted to the other thread with Hazy.

You are about as optimistic as I am I've become a bit of a pessimist I just don't have much faith in WWE it's like England in the Euros this summer.

I wouldn't be shocked if they made Smackdown a 3 hour broadcast in the near future too.

Mainly to give the USA Network more value for money as they could easily be taking less ad revenue due to the falling ratings. This would sweeten future TV rights deals when it comes to what they charge. It would also make it seem as important as Raw on paper and with sponsors.

I'd be happy with that!

Same here. I think I realised it all starting to go wrong after Nexus lost at SummerSlam.

When did you lose faith in WWE?

As for England in the Euros, less said about that, the better.

I really hope SD doesn't go to three hours, I think they'd run the risk of it being like Raw. In fact, I was hoping the brand split would make Raw go back to two hours. No one would blame them. Shorter time for a smaller roster.

I'm patiently waiting for this brand split which seems quite far away still at the moment. Hoping it gives chance for people like Ambrose, Styles, Owens, Zayn, Cesaro and others to get world title reigns quicker than they would have without the split. I just hope they do keep the shows totally split and don't start having crossover stuff. Right now Smackdown is stale due to it seeming like a Raw catchup and rematch show. At least that should also be sorted with the split and going live.

I think his ability on the microphone is quite good too they should let him talk more as part of the tag team.

P.s - All the shows were boring this week.

The last one I remember at SmackDown this year (I was there (not as the referee)). Goldust was the special guest referee in a match between R Truth and (I think) Fandango.

Not sure if there have been any Special Guest Referees after that.

Although...I'm guessing you wanted to know about a guest referee (or match) a bit more special.

My feelings on that TNA segment has very little to do with the piss poor way it was shot and very much because I think its content is up there with the worst, if not the worst segment, TNA has put out in their history.

Oh yeah the production was a load of bollocks too don't get me wrong. Just not the main issue with it. I know Dixie likes to try and compete but steer away from the 'Shittest Wrestling Moment Of The Week' category. WWE had that award won with the first 20 minutes of Raw but TNA managed to knock it out of the park.

Instead of doing this to plug a PPV, TNA should just make it into a movie. I'd watch!
