I don't think ratings fell because of Owens. They reached 20 year lows under the Roman Reigns title reigns. And he looks like a movie star and is good in the ring, good all round really.

It's the booking ideology. Top to bottom. They could put the title on Hornswoggle if the overall booking was strong enough and it wouldn't matter. Not that it would be a good move either!

Everyone will be told to walk extra slow for their entrances and everything lol

It's on the Network which most of us have so it's not going to cost us any more if watch it and not going to save money if we don't.


To me that is kinda "free" even moreso as I would have The Network anyway so the PPV's on it are just a bonus that saves me £15-£20 a month.

I'd like to see WWE do an injury angle where Orton gets attacked by the Wyatt family backstage/during his entrance/before the match.

Or...Wyatt and his family are in the ring waiting for Orton when Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon come out saying that Orton's been injured in an attack. It could be a "Who did it?" storyline since we're able to rule out Wyatt.

And/Or...we get Kane vs Wyatt as a #1 Contender match for the WWE Title. Kane wins. Then Kane wins the WWE Title!

Apart from that I think WWE did pretty well and respectful doing it.

I will never know though why they thought that bit was a good idea and now that is the one bit fans remember.

In some ways it's difficult. The wrestling format changed to all star competitive matches in 1995 when Nitro started. They've got a lot of hours to fill. They're juggling sponsors with trying to break into China. A in-ring centric, athletic show is a safe bet.

Generally, however, they're just incompetent.

I'm sure Shane and Daniel will come out for a 20 minute in ring segment to eat up time. Probably an additional segment where they introduce the first Smackdown brand PPV of 2016.

But the point is in that first segment, they gave the people Kevin Owens and they gave people Seth Rollins being angry. After the ad break they told people the main event and told people who Seth would be fighting.

You have to assume that at some point in that first hour, people already knew 2 hours in advance what was gonna happen. Over half a million people decided to bail out so while the majority of WWE fans were happy with the result, that's still half a million people that didn't stick around for the main event and you say about Hornswoggle and him having the title, I agree with you on that but what I'm saying is, regardless of who the Champion is, it's still a lot of people to leave the show before it's finished. I don't know if it's the length of the show or if people predicted the ending and didn't want to watch it but if I was WWE i'd be trying to figure out why the 3rd hour drops because more often than not as you say, it's got the top guys in it. It's not filler matches so why are not as many people watching it? I don't know.
