I enjoyed Cena/Styles. The MITB match and am happy Roman didn't leave champion. I would have been happy if Seth had walked out with the belt but Ambrose is even better!

I hope they actually met Dean keep the belt and don't take it off him tonight on raw.

I really hate all that bollocks of London/Kendrick being longest reigning champs because Demolitions reign was far longer unless they are meaning WWE champs which they must be referring to when that title debuted during the Brand split last time & the old tag belts referred to World. Considering WWE calls ex WWF World Champs WWE Champions they really should be more clearer.

I was more like what the f**k was Gallows doing just standing in the ring for 10 seconds doing sod all waiting for another guy to come in. That was very bad that spot.

To be honest it deserved it! They made this MITB PPV like a Wrestlemania even going as far as making the show last nearly 3 and a half hours. Corbin/Ziggler had no business on this PPV. It should have been put on a Raw instead!

Kinda made the whole tag match completely pointless. They do this match on a PPV which should have had Dana just dump Charlotte during the match. Not really sure what the point was in this match, I mean they could have easily done the same result with a Triple Threat match instead.

Well it was predicted. The Promos were just caughable you cant beat me? Yeah AJ but Roman did twice the last 2 times.

I remember reading alot of stuff on the dirtsheets and meltzer about how Del Rio was in line for a main event push. Im so glad those rumours were bullshit.

Im so glad that Ambrose won the title. He deserved it. Im guessing WWE didnt want Ambrose cashing on Roman so picking Seth to be the guy that gets pinned. Its probably the one time Ive actually enjoyed a cash in alough nothing tops the RVD one seeing as it was a match he wanted. To a extent I did enjoy the Punk one on Raw but glad to see a face doing it on a PPV.

To be honest I thought they would save Dean's first world title run for a Wrestlemania given all the false starts they ve done with him. Then again years ago fans presumed Jeff hardy would win his first world title at a Wrestlemania and that wasent the case.

Hopefully they wont have Dean drop the title on Raw. I think Dean is also probably the first MITB winner in a long time that didnt have a losing streak before he won the belt.

Didn't watch the show last night but at least the Ambrose cash-in (as much as I'm sick of MITB as a gimmick) is a sign of something happening in WWE again. It would be a good launch pad for Reigns to turn heel on his buddy and Rollins to go face while chasing for the title. Build up those turns over the summer and finally do the triple threat at Summerslam that I've been predicting for practically ever.

I'm wanting the New Day to stay champs until January just so they are the first and only tag team in WWF/E history to be champs for an entire calendar year (by that I mean every day in one single year, in this instance 2016)....and also eclipse the 478 days record by Demolition.
It won't happen though, they'll lose the belts either at Summerslam or NOC. I reckon

So Ambrose is the new World Champion. A bit surprised but hopefully means some more interesting stuff in the future in WWE.

And with all the talk of a Shield triple threat at Summerslam, are we assuming all three will be on the same show following the draft? I do think they'll all be in Raw as Reigns and Rollins have already been semi-confirmed to be on Raw and Ambrose is the current WWE Champion so expect him and that title to be on the red brand.

Be interesting to see how WWE is planning to introduce the second world title. (If they're still planning to use it)

Got round to watching the PPV and I have to praise WWE on that ending. Fantastic stuff and fantastic writing. I assume that was a HHH segment.

Slightly in shock over it. Reigns getting pinned clean in a singles match full-stop (hadn't happened ever in WWE before tonight) and then Ambrose becoming champion. I'm so used to Reigns kicking out of every move and false MITB cash-ins that it's a huge shock when they don't happen.

But honestly fantastically written and builds perfectly to the Shield triple threat we're bound to get since it's clear now Rollins can beat Reigns, Reigns can beat Ambrose and Ambrose can beat Rollins (Ambrose won clean a few times in their last feud in addition to last night).

Finely poised too as to when the match will occur- we could have the long-awaited triple threat at Summerslam or even the case that one of them ends up on a different brand from the other two and it's held off until Mania (injury permitting).

Now watch WWE blow their load and have the triple threat at Battleground - which I think we can all agree would be a bad idea and it's a PPV that can take any match and make it terrible. And they could even turn Ambrose heel so Reigns is the only "face" in the match.
I'm just so used to WWE totally ballsing everything up that despite that brilliant ending my automatic assumption is to think of ways WWE can muck it up.

Not got much else to say really on the rest of the PPV except that if Cena doesn't win his next PPV match against AJ Styles then it's time to worry for humanity.

Also just to add in regards to the Draft. WWE have announced that the actual draft will take place not on Raw, but on July 19th on the first live Smackdown.

I know it's the first live Smackdown, but still a bit surprised WWE haven't decided to hold at least some of the draft on Raw.

I hope the old Draft music is still in tact. It was around back when the MITB theme music was just a fetus. That MITB music never gets old.


That'd be exactly the thing to do here. Reigns needs a turn and they've got the perfect basis to turn Rollins face (as they did frankly with him returning anyway). Plus it'd be a nice change not to have the usual 'Reigns and Ambrose buddies, Seth is heel' act.

Which is why I'm presuming the face/heel alignments won't change one jot. It'd make things interesting for one thing. And surely after the never-ending, non-stop efforts they've tried to make Reigns a face they aren't going to give up now?

I'll frankly never be sick of MITB as a gimmick. I think the superstar holding it affects it a lot but I think the best WWE moments of recent years are very much MITB related.
WWE would be shooting themselves in the foot getting rid of it.

Given WWE's recent ladder match booking history, it was a relief that they didn't give it to the most unlikely, disappointing or illogical option this time.

Reigns is WWE's next big thing. The new "face to run the place" so to speak. No way he's being turned heel.

Rollins only came back a month ago and immediately ragged on the fans saying he didn't need them.

Ambrose is the only one I can see possibly turning.

And if the triple threat match is to happen at Summerslam. What does WWE do for the title match at Battleground?

Somehow I see them announcing that match for Battleground, even though it would be better at Summerslam.

Remember Lesnar is due to be at Summerslam too, and will require an opponent should he compete following UFC 200.

I hope there's still a chance of superstars choosing which brand they want to be on after the draft like when Eddie, Taker and Lesnar chose to be on Smackdown and Jericho chose to be on Raw in 2002.

Also I'm wondering if all the Women wrestlers will be on the same brand or will be on different brands (like what happened last time there was two brands) as the roster is crowded already with Charlotte, Naomi, Tamina, Becky, Sasha, Paige, Emma, Dana, Natalya, Summer, Alicia and Eva and you also have Bayley, Carmella and Alexa who might be called up from NXT (I doubt Asuka will be called up yet as she's the Champion) as well soon and you also will have the returning Nikki whenever that is.

Also if they're on separate brands what does that mean for the other brand without Charlotte on as last time there was two brands Smackdown didn't have a Women's Title on it and that's why the Divas Title was created so will they create another Title or will the Champion be on both shows? However if they're all on the same show will they add a secondary Title for that brand as many of the Women wrestlers will have nothing to do when there's a feud happening for the Women's Title.

I assume Maryse and Lana will be on the same shows as The Miz and Rusev respectively.

An amazing stat. Last night was the first time in Roman's entire WWE career that he's ever been pinned without any form of interference. It also marks only the eighth time ever he's been pinned.

What happened last night means nothing. In 2016 who carries a pretend belt means nothing. I hope last weeks Raw rating made WWE rethink their plans because Raw is barely over the 2.0.


This thread shows it too, people are tuning out in large numbers. Hokey ladder matches mean nothing. Women wrestling means nothing. Belts mean nothing. It's not gonna fix things. Raw 1.9 will be here in a matter of weeks.

Considering Roman is WWE's face of the company just seemed odd why they had Seth pin him clean given how far they ve gone to put him over the past 7 months.

I think everyone thought he'd destroy Rollins at the PPV so not really sure in the logic they have gone with this.

On the plus side Ambrose winning was a awesome moment one the fans wanted, I even had to get on my knees and be the referee myself and count to three given how amazing this moment was. I just hope this isnt a short reign and we get some decent challengers because I dont want it being Ambrose vs Seth or Ambrose vs Roman for the next 4 months on PPVs. WWE has to think outside the box where is isnt just former Shield members getting title matches.

I'm not sure if 'Face that runs the place' or 'Big Match John' is the more annoying Cenaism. Probably Big Match John - JBL spouts that every 5 seconds during a Cena PPV match.

If Ambrose were to turn it'd be only in theory - the crowd are just not going to boo him over Roman.
I still find it ridiculous Rollins and AJ are meant to be heel full stop.

Have to say the booking did a lot last night fir all three Shield men. Ambrose obvipusly is now champ, Rollins got a huge clean win there and actually backed up the talk which makes him look a million bucks. And Roman actually looked human for once which helps him far more than kicking out of 8 consecutive finishers like normally occurs.

Plus the booking last night if sustained makes a Shield reunion worth/mean more when it does happen now if all three are booked as on a similar level rather than it just being Reigns and his two hangers-on in kayfabe. WWE should always bear in mind the reason the Shield was so successful is that all three played their part.

I'd love to see him win the finale to the feud but given it's Cena that's unlikely. Just hope WWE don't just use the fact he's heel to treat it as if if he loses to Cena his entire career means nothing. They have a tendancy to do that - especially with heels - and so it means if you lose to Cena you just look a joke. And it would be very Vince to want to try to make something he didn't directly make look inferior.

I'm fully on the AJ train now though. I even like the haircut now.

Also, that Pedigree counter from the spear looked bloody good.

The reason AJ never won so far is because Vince McMahon doesn't believe in it or buy into it.


Vince Russo said this last week, Vince McMahon didn't know AJ Styles from a hole in the wall. Then he would have been introduced to him and seen his height and size and then heard his southern accident and that would have been the nail in the coffin. Vince McMahon buried Jeff Jarrett for the same reason, VInce McMahon does not like southerners and cannot stand their accents. This is why long time AJ Styles fans will have heard AJ trying to get rid of his Southern twang on TV, trying to sound more east coast but clearly it doesn't matter.

Raw barely scraped a 2.0 last week with Cena and EVERYONE else on the show. The audience just doesn't care at this point. Far too much wrestling. Everyone looking the same, regular guys, no selling, no believability, Russo even mentioned at one point last night there was 6 wrestlers on a big ladder trying to get the briefcase. Right away just unbelievable. Would never happen in real life and things like that just scream out to the audience you're watching acrobatics, it's not wrestling, just an absolute mess, no skill involved at all.


I just hope Vince McMahon doesn't think putting the belt on Ambrose is gonna fix things. They're barely scraping a 2.0, they're under 3 million viewers. It's only 16 years ago. Not long. Only 16 years ago wrestling was doing 8 - 10 million on Monday nights in America. Now it's under 3 million. 7 million people no longer watch it there and there was an NBA 16 years ago. There was an NFL 16 years ago. There was a Ryder Cup 16 years ago. All these existed so they're not excuses.

I just hope they get things fixed but I think they seriously need to get below that 2.0 for things to change. Unbelievable how many viewers they have lost not just since 2000 but even in the last year, how many viewers have they lost since Wrestlemania last year? Well over a million and that's just in America alone. They need to get away from all this stupid wrestling match garbage with belts and ladders and everyone talking in each others ears and you can hear spots being called and no one sells. Get away from all this and go back to entertainment. How low does the ratings need to get? The numbers speak for themselves. The audience doesn't want wrestling!!!!!!!! No one wrestler is a draw anymore. Time to change.
