Personally I think the Hell in a Cell from No Mercy 2002 was miles better. Last year they should have just simply avoided it and not done the match. WWE isnt going to top the first match from 13 years ago.

They did a good job building up to it. He did a bit of everything, he did the promo thing for the video game, he was personable talking about his family and he became the Goldberg character at the end of it. He ticked all the right boxes. There was no buzzwords. He was talking to the crowd, not just talking into a camera, he used his hands to gesture to the people, he faced other sides of the ring when talking rather than just where the hard camera is. It felt like a natural conversation rather than a performance which is how some of the other wrestlers make their promos seem like. It's not their fault, they're only doing their job but I don't see how anyone can look at what Goldberg did and then go back to what they're doing now and say that their way of working is better. I don't know how they can defend using scripts unless a wrestler really wants one and they're not confident enough to go out on their own and don't trust themselves to do it well on their own.

I actully do know them I've known them around 16 years now I guess.

But like my other friends I stay out of asking questions about their private life and won't ask them unless they ask me.

Looks like Charlotte vs Sasha is being promoted as the main Event at the next PPV. Shouldnt the WWE Universal title really be the main event match?

So with Smackdown on tonight are we expecting to see a title change with AJ going totally bad ass next week regaining the title in a bloody mess?

Why?

Should not the Woman's main title be just as important?

It stands out even more when everything else WWE does seems so transparently phoney and fake.

Could not have put it any better myself even your post was considered history making on this thread.

No. Back in 2001 Ivory vs Chyna for the WWF Womens title was never going to go over say Rock/Austin for the WWF Belt at mania 18.

Seems so surreal. Goldberg returning to a WWE ring. Though still not as strange as seeing Sting in a WWE ring and AJ Styles as World Champion.

Though Hell in a Cell looks like a good card, I wish they'd kept to one PPV per month and put this PPV on hold for a year. The feuds involving Rollins/Owens, Reigns/Rusev and Banks/Charlotte (cage would suffice) could have been completed on episodes of Raw.

What has something from 2001 got to do with anything?

The woman's title has gained more importance since then.

Did you not say a lower level talent should win the title because "it's something the WWE have not done before"?

The WWE have never done this before so why not do it?

Is it because they are women?

Bret Hart, Warrior, Rock, Lesnar, Sting now Goldberg. With the exception of The Rock you wouldnt think any of those would go into a WWE ring again. May just be hope for the likes of Angle having a swansong.

I have no issue with the women's match potentially main eventing the ppv. All the matches have to take place at some point on the card why does it matter what order they are on?

Foley edited his post saying he actually has no idea if it is the main event or not.

My main issue is more with how the HIAC is treated now. It doesn't feel all that special anymore. Go back to the original and you realise how the difference is night and day. They're treating Sasha/Charlotte in a HIAC as if it's a huge reward, this incredible thing to celebrate rather than building up how hellacious the structure and match type actually is. That's a gripe in particular, for me it's used too much without the right build and without it being for the right matches.

I love that people are saying it is ok for the women to main event but when the WWE title match wasn't the PPV main even last week everyone went mad

Have you checked if it was the same people complaining about that who are now saying it is ok?

I certainly didn't complain about the title match not being on last. Also the slight difference for some is that it's still the main title in the women's division which in theory should be equal to the men's heavyweight title.

For the women the Womens Title is equal to the WWE/Universal Title.

James Frederick

I did post that before it happened.

TBF I saw the Casket had what looked like a gap in the lining for the flase bottom.
