She was a decent performer (although you could say her best stuff from a wrestling POV was not in WWE)

Stuff like kissing Stratis and being a stalker was put in front of her actual ability in the ring.

If they was not aiming at a very dumbed down demographic we might have seen something different but from a talent POV due to them portrayed today in a much more better light the talent has had to raise their game which they have done.

How Charlotte portrayed a heel when sudden death started was excellent heel work (prob the best heel work from female performer), if you showed a photo of her face it could have told the story of the match (same with Banks face) and the same again after a near fall soon after, you could see what had happened in those last few minutes. That type of work and talent should be praised same with Russo and Lana they have been excellent in their roles.

Apart from the stalker storyline what else did they ever give Mickie to work with?

One of the reasons she left WWE was shev (rightfully) felt she wasn't used right (As well as the Cena stuff)


The fact apart from one feud none of her time was really memorable isn't her fault it's the writers and bookers she could only work with what she was given.

I don't think Dave realises when we say stuff like that it's not a criticism of the wrestlers but how they were booked/used Mickie and others (Molly-Victoria-Ivory) deserved to be used better than they were.

Yep we did have some talent that could have been special if they was used in the right way and used in today's light but they was never really booked in a intelligent story line. Even with the continued switching of the titles it was still better then just about everything that those woman was given to do, We can agree or disagree with that booking but at least they put thought behind it, At least they spent time investing in it something they rarely did back in the day, Most of the storylines could have been written between advert breaks (and it would not be surprising if that actually happened sometimes).

In days to come the talent back then will likely wish they could have been part of the current setup its highly unlikely that today's and the talent to come will want to have been part the previous setup, They might like to work with some of the talent back then but they would not want to be booked in the same way,

What result were WWE hoping for exactly? Goldberg?

Lesnar vs. Goldberg will happen, but if WWE were clever, they'd draft Finn Balor to Smackdown and have him take the title off of Styles at Wrestlemania. Given their history re Bullet Club, I'm sure they'd put on a hell of a feud.

Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho would be a great RAW headliner.

EDIT: This is assuming Balor is fit by then, of course.

I finished making the StackDown set I got for Secret Santa. Constructing a casket on Christmas day is a new way to start off Christmas Day.

Vince stuck in his ways, alot of people said it looked bad for a face to tap out with 3 seconds left as generally they would have hung on. I think Hunter wanted her to win 2 - 1 but Vince changed the finish.

Sasha should have gone into business for herself and not tapped.

As for the Mickie/Trish match there was one bit where she grabbed Trish's crotch and then licked her fingers. Its on youtube but not sure if WWE edited it off the network.

Didnt she leave because she hated the Piggie James angle they did. I dont blame her for hating it, alot of fans didnt like it either.

What you are saying makes no sense, One minute Vince is stuck in his ways and the next you are saying he changed what would have been a traditional finish and changed it to something new.

If she went into business for herself when she walked behind the curtain the only thing she would hear is "Your Fired" and who else would hire her or anyone who goes against what their boss said.

On Sasha though given who her cousin is I'm shocked Vince is not sucking up to her every chance he gets.

Think she is just one of talents Vince has just not seen "it" yet.

I agree but even if she sucked and was Rosa Mendes bad given her cousin is Snoop Dog I would think he'd push her to the moon just to try and get him on TV.

As seen at WWE "Roadblock: End of the Line" on Sunday, Sasha Banks lost the Iron Man Match for the RAW Women's Title to Charlotte Flair after tapping out to tie at 2-2 with just 2 seconds left. This forced the match into sudden death overtime, where Charlotte regained the title by submission.

Regarding the finish where Sasha tapped with seconds left to send the match into overtime, this was a Vince McMahon idea but it sounds like he had a different reaction in mind. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that most within the company knew the finish was a bad idea but the key people in charge did not.

Vince reportedly had a "great" idea for the fall as there was a feeling that being in Pittsburgh, no one would care about the match or make any noise and it would drag. Vince thought everyone would be really excited for Sasha retaining her title, counting down the final 10 seconds of the match, but that excitement would be derailed when Sasha tapped out with just 2 seconds left. Vince thought it was going to be such a great moment, but most agree that it was not.

That statement shows how wrong Vince can get it. Deciding a finish because he didn't think the crowd would care is bad.

I think the injuries are the problem there. And maybe he's already decided that Charlotte vs Bayley is the money feud to go with into Mania. I actually agree with that. Sasha works better as a heel too so it makes sense to cycle her out of the title picture for a bit to get the belt on Bayley and then do a turn/feud there.

Poor? Yes there was a lot of eye candy (how is it different than now with Eva Marie, Summer Rae etc) and ones not used tor wrestling (any different to Total Divas cast?) However there were just about the same quality in numbers as now. There was Molly, Victoria, Trish, Lita as the main four. Then you had the supporting lot like Jazz, Jacqueline, Luna and Ivory.

Womens wrestling gained a reputation due to the way it was portrayed but it does not mean there wasnt any talent but those two. Ivory for example was a major heel and in fact took charge of one of the most hated groups of the Attitude Era in the Right to Censor.

Lita and Trish stood out because they were the most marketable. Lita was unique in that no women had been a high flyer jumping off ladders etc before her and was with the popular tag team of the day in the Hardyz. Trish had a story built up over time from being someone who thought she control everyone to being screwed over by the most hated heel of all time in Vince. Fans naturally grew to support her.

As for short matches etc, im sure the likes of Bayley and Nia Jax have been in squash matches only a couple minutes long.

Nothing has changed now, they have picked the most marketable and running with it. Those being the Four Horsewomen.

Charlotte is nothing special but she does what is expected of her well. Its obvious she is being built for Wrestlemania for the face woman to defeat her at a PPV and that woman to become the face of the division. All is pinning on it being Bayley.

You see nothing has actually changed, just there is more focus on it now.
