With the network becoming bigger and bigger, and expanding, and offering more and more options, like the upcoming UK Championship tournament, plus a new UK weekly show afterwards, Vince is doing what Ted Turner was trying to do all those years ago.
He is offering the medium by which other companies will want/need to be on, if they are to be seen, just as television was in in the old days.
Eventually, I can see the WWE splitting up their price plan, and offering different options, with the top option being one where, you can watch other companies, be it ROH, TNA, NJPW, Evolve etc, but in the future, the network will eventually become THE go to to place where if you want to watch a wrestling show, then you go there to do so.
No more worrying about TV schedules etc, just watch them when you want, and on whichever device you want to watch on.
So, by that definition, then I could guess you could call that a Monopoly of sorts, but is a platform like the network capable of being classed as a Monopoly?
If all they are doing is showcasing other companies?
I am not so sure, as the other companies would still be alive and doing their own stuff so to speak.
It really will be interesting to see how the network develops here on in.
