The Wrestling Observer noted at the Smackdown tapings they didnt tell the live crowd who Brock Lesnar's opponent at Summerslam will be and that it'll be edited into the broadcast Thursday.
Im presuming Randy Orton will be named as the opponent unless theres any other names realistically. |

I'll say it right now, if WWE does a New Day vs Wyatts at the Wyatt Compound match they absolutely stole that idea from TNA. That Final Deletion last night was 18 minutes of camp, funny, serious storytelling and wrestling all rolled into one. The camera angles, the visuals, the stunts, never seen anything like that on a wrestling show before.
I just hope the WWE doesn't try and copy it because the WWE is a kids show, i hope they do something different. |

It doesn't show that though. It shows that they didn't want to have it leaked two days before its on the air so will insert it into the broadcast

I just hope the WWE doesn't try and copy it because the WWE is a kids show, i hope they do something different. The reality is it was so bad and over the top that it became enjoyable (to a lot of people at least), basically in the way that people love terrible B-movies. I'd put money on it that if you took that exact same story/match/angle but put it under the WWE name, a lot of those same people (you included) would be sh*tting all over it. Ridiculously hilarious and bizarre though. And Russo saying it's the greatest thing he's ever seen in wrestling sums up Russo. |

For many of us fans what TNA did was proper wrestling, it was campy, it was funny.
Thats the way 10 million used to feel on Monday nights. No one cares about fake wrestling fights on their own. People want characters and stories. Just give us entertainment. Give us theatre. Give us something to enjoy. And the WWE will do it and Russo was spot on with this. The WWE did that thing on Monday with the Wyatts inviting the New Day to the compound, this will be the WWE's way of copying it except it will be the New Day lying in horse crap or something, something cartoonish and PG. And what TNA did was Jeremy Borash's idea. As Russo also said, the mind of 41 Jeremy Borash vs the mind of a 70 year old Vince McMahon. Forget about it. It's scary the difference there. One show is men in their 30s and 40s throwing food, the other is putting in the effort to be different. |

And as expected, all 3 hours of Raw fell well below 3 million.
H1-2.663M H2-2.668M H3-2.643M Average - 2.658M |

The attitude era worked because of the people WWE had. Trying to recreate it now wouldn't work.
The final deletion was funny in places, but I'm not sure how having a 41 year old comedy character as their main heel helps TNA in anything but the short run. And TNA is supposedly holding tapings next week they haven't announced yet, because they can't announce them till Universal get a deposit for the Impact zone. Tick tock. |

10 million people back in the attitude era weren't going "this is so sh*t that it's hilarious and enjoyable". You can try to spin it however you want, it's pointless even bothering to waste your repeated essays on me that rehash the same tiresome stuff. I get it, you don't like the WWE product, I don't need your 485847754th essay to tell me that.
I'll tell you what those 10 million weren't doing, they weren't sittting watching 15 minute wrestling matches one after the other for 3 hours on end. They were watching wrestlers acting and being larger than life and taking part in storylines that were must see. Wrestling for decades was built on the wrestlers trying their best to either get you to hate them or love them. The WWE is trying to change that. It is a show. An exhibition, it is theatre. It should be campy. It should be larger than life as should the wrestlers. |

It seems the first week of CWC is just talking about who is in it as I guess most fans don't know them.
I know who pretty all of them are some much more than others but I have seen all of them wrestle at some point. |

Wrestling Observer has said the talent has been told the CWC weight limit is for real and they have to be 205lbs or under before every match. Seems odd.

If he's now on for a % of the take of UFC 200, which will still likely do over one million $49.99 SD / $59.99 HD buys in North America, is he going to care about wrestling at Summerslam for relative chicken feed?

Or more to the point, if he gets a medical suspension of some kind from the Nevada state athletic commission on Sunday, which it's highly likely he will, are WWE just going to say it doesn't effect us, he can do Summerslam anyway? They'd look terrible. Beyond strange they're announcing a match this week.
